Leonora Bolt: Deep Sea Calamity

Rate this book
Leonora isn't supposed to be building a submarine in a tree. Or turning the local wildlife luminous. In fact, she is supposed to be keeping her head down and drawing no attention - because Leonora Bolt is an inventor in secret. But she can't stop thinking of the clues she found to her missing parents' location. So, deep in hiding in Snorebury, desperately trying to avoid being discovered by her evil uncle, Leonora is hatching a plan. So what if involves launching a homemade submarine into the middle of the ocean, accompanied only by a couple of friends and an otter with particularly sensitive whiskers? For when disaster strikes, Leonora's wackiest plan might just be her most brilliant yet...

This book is adventurous and exciting!!!
It is about Leonora, Jack, Captain Spang and Millie going on an adventure to find Leonora’s parents because they went missing. Leonora was making a submarine that she named the Aquabolt. She went into the sea using the Aquabolt to find her parents because Twitchy, her pet otter was picking up some trevors that he could feel with his whiskers. I like this book because it teaches me about perseverance.❤️

The story not too simple so adult (well, me) can enjoy it but not too complicated that children still having fun reading it.
Leo is a good MC. She's smart, have a sense of leadership at young age yet still have a child vulnerability.
The villain feels a typical bad man, but overall it's good.

Love that there is a book series like this coming to our kids' shelves. The right mix of mystery, fact and funny while keeping a quick pace that also doesn't seem too far fetched.
