Alien Mate Machine

Rate this book
This land is ruled by predators. And I am their prey.

I'm leaving Earth to live in the colony planet Draxon because I need an escape. To start a new life and leave Chicago - and my broken heart - behind.

But on the way there, something goes wrong. Before we can land safely, the cockpit doors fly open to screams. The cabin lights flicker, and passengers flee to the escape pods as the ship hurtles through the atmosphere.

Somehow I survive the crash. But when I wake, I’m surrounded by howling predators, and there is no way to escape. Using all of my energy, I shoot my last flare into the sky and pray for rescue. As the light dies, I see the outline of something horrific.

Standing in front of me is an alien barbarian, naked. His body is monolithic. As he steps forward, something big swings across his thigh.

My heart is racing. Am I turned on? Not exactly…

He is a monster. And I don’t want to know what he can do with that… thing.

When he takes me, he’s not gentle. He’s rough, demanding, and possessive. And when I try to run, he shows me a bond as tough as steel.

He believes I’m his fated mate sent from the stars. And though I want to correct him, there’s something else about this place that won’t let me leave.

Something terribly wrong…

I made it to page 102, but I’m sorry I could go no further. This one goes on the “could not finish” pile. The storyline was fine, the characters were on point, but the story telling and the character building was among the worst I have read.

I also got this ebook with KU.

I liked this book but I had a big problem with Kye💃💋 and Raeker🐺🍆⛲💪👊🔪 being able to understand and talk to each other from the very beginning. Wonderful and extensive World🌍 building brings the alien planet alive! Lots of twists to this well written book!

Ehh...

I like the idea of an outer space alien falling in love with a human. However, the story was a bit all over the place. Rambling and unorganized. Timeline was off and some things were contradicting. For example, there is a part where the MC says she doesn’t know the other MCs name, but she had just called him by his name in the previous chapter.
Overall, I tolerated it until the end, but it wasn’t the best or my favorite.

Disappointing 21/2stars!

Omg this was such a let down I just couldn't endure it to the end and had to call it quits right after the mating ritual chapter!
The concept behind the book had promise I mean a woman crash lands into a hostile planet with only one Amazonian Male inhabitant..... sounded hot to me. But alas I was so very wrong.
The problems start from the very beginning as her sole reason for leaving earth is because her exboyfriend was a controlling, rude, selfish jerk. Yep that was it, he wasn't physically abusive or anything just a donkey's ass. Then when on the ship to her destination something happens to the ship, it starts to break apart and the pilots are killed instantly. Now what I found funny was the fact that the crew kept telling the passengers to remain seated until the CAPTAIN told them to evacuate. That was some intelligent crew they had there let me tell you lol. Kye (did not like that name for our leading lady) seemed to be the only one with a brain and run to a shuttle craft and evacuated the ship before it exploded. From there the problems just kept mounting on.
Our leading alien male apparently carried his little brother in a sack on his back so I assumed he must have been his kid brother at most a teenager right??? When I read he was a grown male just slightly younger than him I couldn't stop laughing that must have been a hell of a BIG sack!
There was also a lack of description when she meets the alien Raeker, he was tall, broad and muscular with a humongous dick but thats about it. No skin texture or colour description, nothing about hair or eye colour or any strange alien features. Even the character building was non existent when he meets her the first thing he does is grab her by the throat injuring her and knocks her out. Then he strips her naked (thats how she spends the rest of the book!!) He blames her for everything bad that's happened in his life and proceeds to treat her badly, speak to her unkindly and then lock her up in a basement for 4 days!!!  What's even worse is that after he let's her out she goes from hating the guy to liking him, finding him sexy and making out with the guy all within one day. The characters were not likeable at all; he was a giant douchebag and she was the biggest door matt ever with the words 'please walk all over me' printed on top! The story was hard to follow as scenes would change without proper clarification and would jump from one thing to the other without ryhme or reason. Especially during the intimate scenes those were just a mess, one minute she'd be one way then the next she was somewhere else. The scenes didn't flow well and were confusing as hell and since she used the term 'lips' for her vagina you can imagine the confusion. Oh and the icing on the cake what made me say 'hell no I've had enough' was the fact that the crown on Raekers cock opens up to shoot out 3 tentacles!!! You heard me 3 TENTACLES that went up into her womb and attached themselves onto her overies to fertilise the eggs directly from the source. OMG when I read that I actually cringed crossed my legs and felt a fantom pain in my own overies. I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't want that guy anywhere near me no matter how hot he is. So there you have it, the reasons why I just couldn't bring myself to finish this book.

Omg, it was sooo bad. Like, obviously I knew going in that I wasn’t going to be reading fine literature, but even for what I was promised (bad alien smut) it was disappointing. First, the writing was sloppy & disjointed. As if, this was a first draft outline rather than the finished product. Then there was the actual story. Honestly, it started out alright despite a lack of any real explanations or world building, but it quickly got lost in the grand mystery of the planet, the aliens, & the disease. Honestly, the author was trying to hard to create a mystery & grand reveal, & she ended up with a confusing clusterfuck that made zero sense. At the very end, when we are finally given the answers- they don’t actually answer anything at all. So dad abandons his family & they all die from what exactly? Did he & his brother only survive because they were half human? Then why was his brother sick? How many different temples are there? Why are the brothers even fighting? The given reason didn’t make any sense. Why were they exiled? What is the deal with the pod people & who did that? The side story about the alpha breeders was just pure smut pandering & had no basis in the actual story, actually scratch that- I was honestly alright with that part. Where the fuck did the dragon come from? Then, like father, like son I suppose as both the brothers leave the pod clones with an injured dragon & the entire population of intelligent carnivorous insect like predators bearing down on them with no defense as they take off in their space ship, like good luck...I guess? 😳 Then they take off back to Earth, where apparently even though they were previously trying to kill them- they happily let them live in peace with the two alien/human hybrid males, a human female who was changed to a molecular level via an alien ritual, & their half dna modified human and half alien/human hybrid spawn- like nah, we don’t want to run any tests...I just honestly can’t any more.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this unusual but highly intriguing, alien Sci-Fi romance, it has a well-paced plot filled with action that is well-described & has good world building. The characters have well-defined personalities, individually each of the characters are unique & display realistic emotional feelings with good chemistry between them.
It is about: a young human female anthologist (Kye) is determined to start a new life on a colony planet (Draxon) but something goes wrong & she somehow manages to survives a unexpected crash on a strange planet (Yarwon) only to be taken by a naked barbarian alien (Raeker) with devious plans in store for her.
There is: humans, barbarian aliens, a conniving earth federation, unethical plans, mating rituals, mates, devastating memories, adventure, action, secrets, deceit, twists & turns, threats, danger, violence, conflict, defiance, humiliation, manipulations, devious plans, transformation, strange discoveries, confrontations, unexpected help, decisions, surprises, steamy scenes, happiness & a well-deserved satisfying epilogue.

Not a bad story but it took a bit of time to get started but once it did I enjoyed it. Kye has left her abusive partner Gregory and with the help from her friends Cathy, Michael, Roy Kye decides to leave earth for a better life. But her new life is cut short when the space cruiser she is on explodes and she is the only one to escape and crash lands on a planet she knows nothing about but she is saved by a very tall hot alien by name Kaeker who tells her she is on planet Yarmon and who is trying to save his brother Trikar’s life, but will he kill her she doesn’t know but she can save his brother with her med-kit and maybe save herself as well. There are so many twists and turns throughout this book and sometimes you get a little lost but in the end it’s all explained.

What a book. Kye can not believe she left earth for excitement and a start over in space. she had not planned on crash landing on an alien planet. That is were she meets Raeker, resident alien. His tribe is gone, all dead by an unknown illness. barely keeping his brother alive, he meets Kye. They do not exactly start off even friendly, yet their paths were meant to cross, and they were meant for each other. The descriptions of the planet and the life form were fantastic, the drama of trying to stay alive and together plus figure out the secrets the planet holds for them. Loved the ending when all the secrets are out, families are together, and the look forward to the future. I recieved an ARC of this book.

Kye is looking for a fresh start. She’s finally ended a very bad relationship and needs to heal. Most importantly she needs to relearn who she is, learn who she is now. While relocating off planet, something goes wrong and she barley manages to make it an escape pod, barely sealing herself in and hitting the eject button, before the shuttle explodes.

Reaker is alone, caring for his sick and unconscious brother. Angry and confused he’s searching for the Elder’s Temple, hoping for answers. What’s happened to his village? His people? His planet? What he finds there, both angers and adds to his confusion.

I enjoyed this book; the authors has created an interesting world and characters I cared about. This book had mystery, heat and heart!

Kye left her ex Gregory after 4 years he never hit her but he was abusive in other ways so to get on with her life Kye accepted a invitation from Starline Cruises for a all expenses paid trip to the colony planet Draxon at least she can make new memories but along the way something goes wrong with the spaceship and everyone is panicking so Kye runs to an escape pod as she gets away the ship explodes behind her so much for a new start to her life. Raeker took his little brother and ran from his village when everyone started to die from a virus now his brother is sick and he doesn’t know what to do, suddenly there is a loud crack coming from the sky and a big mass goes crashing through the jungle Raeker watches a female fall over he believes that the gods have brought him a mate. There is so much more to this story it’s a fantastic read and I recommend this book.

This was a DNF for me. The writing was very flowery but so much so that it was confusing. Like, within a few paragraphs the heroine's inner monologue had described the passion and love her and her ex share, and then he was abusive and manipulative, but then they were just wrong for each other, then there's a forced abortion, then it was how lost in love they were ...
Pick a lane.

The spaceship issue made no sense. She basically pushed passed everyone to save herself which is... Okay I guess. But it kept talking about how she had to run, get out, etc I couldn't picture what was happening or where she was.

The Hero's first chapter starts with an un-ironic bible quote for some reason, seems off language for an alien on a primitive planet.

I couldn't follow the story so it was a DNF for me unfortunately.

This has to be one of the strangest...

Ok, maybe strange isn't the right word, but I keep thinking I was missing chapters or maybe this was the accidental blending of what was supposed to be different books.
The timeline is very skewed. It tells the story of a few days, then skips to 'the past weeks together' then even further to 'many moons'. On top of that, the plot jumped around. Character development was awful.
Could the story have been good? Well, I think it's a maybe. I did read through it trying to figure the story out. But it would need a LOT of work. The ending made evennless sense than the rest of the book.
I'm sorry, but I honestly feel like this one is a case of "go back to your desk and try again."

The author is sneaky! What she did is little by little in an almost confusing way is build a story that is epic! Also add in great characters, who build and grow as the story develops, such as Kye and Reaker. Reaker thinks that Kye was sent to him from the Gods in answer to his prayers and Kye doesn't know what to think except that he's keeping her prisoner, even though they she's drawn to him. He doesn't trust her, he thinks everyone from Earth represents the Earth Federation, the same Federation that has devastated his world. Action, adventure and romance, this book doesn't disappoint, a great read.

Interesting action packed alien book with a relatively smooth flow. Kye is stranded on a planet when a move to another planet ends up in disaster, she is taken by Raeker and kept prisoner while she needs to convince the caveman that she is not from the gods, his fated mate or there to kill him. He was a bit hard on her and she forgave him way too easily for treating her that way and moved to the mate part in a blink of an eye that was not realistic, one moment she is terrified the next she mates him. Some shocking revelations at the end of the book and all in all it was a good read.

Different and interesting

This is my first time reading Penelope Woods so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing about this story is predictable. It’s truly in a class of its own. The characters are flawed but dynamic. They have real depth. This book is engaging and very well written. The plot is so interesting and I love how everything comes full circle. The world building is incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale and look forward to reading more from Penelope Woods!

An Interesting Outing But...

At 3.5 stars, this one was a little hard to judge for me since there is Kinda romance with a mystery draping that becomes more prevalent in the latter half of the book. An event happens that shifts the power dynamic, and seemingly the FMC's whole personality. And when the rescue soldiers come, I felt like author couldn't keep the names for them/ their personalities straight. It was interesting and I did enjoy it, but the confusion of what was happening, why it was happening, and for what purpose detracted from my enjoyment.

This is nothing to swoon over.
For a character as insignificant as Gregory is, get used to seeing that name repeated a lot

Raeker and his brother Trikar are the only creatures left alive on his plant. One day a shooting spaceship from the heavens gives Raeker the gift of Kye. He is a breeder and she is his mate.

------spoilers
I didn't care about any of the characters.
The writing was poor at best
MCs all had the same voice
Raeker used expressions that were too humanoid for him
The sex scenes are kind of all over the place
The rituals don't really make sense
Elders
a dragon

Kye is looking for a fresh start and is moving the to colony planet Draxon to do it. On the way there her ship crashes onto a different planet where she is taken by Raeker who believes she is his mate. Fast-paced sci-fi read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters, wonderful world building and an entertaining read. I liked it.

Wow! This is one roller coaster of an adventure for Kye. She leaves earth to mend a broken heart and is stranded on a dying planet where she meets a strapping alien, one of only 2 left alive!
A great read with drama and romance and thrills and for all those romantics out there a happily ever after

Stopped reading

Characters didn’t make sense. Wordings didn’t make sense. He’s from a primitive planet but knows what cortisol is and knows that Earth is a planet? He knows sayings from Earth and speaks like a common millennial? It totally took me out of the scene and I couldn’t read any more.

Conflicted

I'm really not sure how I feel about this book. I liked it but than I didn't. It's a good story and I enjoyed the world and characters created but I don't believe it flowed well. There are big gaps that don't make sense to me. There's a lot of intriguing information but it didn't come together.

Kye and Raeker

Kae heads into space to go to a different planet. Instead she crashes on an primitive alien planet. She meets Darker and his brother. She saves his brother with antibiotics. Raeker believes she is his mate. Very interesting concept on how they survive and are rescued.

The synopsis was interesting and I'm a sucker for alphas & Sci-fi romance books so I just had to read it. Overall, it was a good short read but it was kinda all over the place, especially the plot. I also wasn't feeling anything for the characters. The romance was rushed & confusing for me. I just had a lot more expectations for this.
