Summer in the Twin Cities is hard to beat, and Detective Kate Rosetti is excited to show FBI Agent Jack Russo a nice, relaxing time while he’s back in town. Unfortunately, her plans go belly up when Tommy “Two-Toed” Bianchi is found floating face down in Kate’s favorite lake.

To complicate matters, Alastair Gem turns up with a brand-new girlfriend… which is all fine and dandy until his girlfriend goes missing. Gem begs the already-strapped-for-time detective for help, and Kate can’t refuse.

One murderer, one kidnapper, and one boyfriend are a lot for the detective to handle. But if Kate doesn’t focus on finding the killer before time runs out, she’ll be the next victim in his deadly spree…

We meet again, Rosetti.I wish you could get more time to relax, but murder doesn’t wait. I loved how her relationship developed in this book, and the mystery and murders were well-explained.

While Kate can be frustrating this story had a better flow and an equal balance of time spent on her homicide cases and her relationships. On to the next book.

Kate and Jack are having a nice few days when Kate is called to a homicide. While she is tracking clues and conducting interviews, Kate is fretting about her relationship with Jack.

I really enjoy the books of Gina LaManna. Her writing style is always easy and flowing and she has a way to make you connect to the characters. This installment of Kate Rosetti was also another great read. I do have a (small) issue with the whole Jack Russo/Alastair Gem thing. I do not like triangles and while Kate has obviously made her choice the other is still in the stories. This makes me a bit uncomfortable (like Kate!). But overall: loved the book.

This series keeps getting better and better. Kate and Jack are trying to have some vacation alone time, but a dead body changes it all for Kate. Some laughs, some romance, and a whole bunch of mystery that kept me guessing till the end! Give me more Kate & Jack!

I’m still Team Edward… errr… I mean, Team Gem. I guess Kate has finally moved on and chosen the man she’s going to share her life with and it doesn’t look like that man is Gem. I’m saddened some, but at the same time if she’d chosen Gem I’d have wished she’d chosen Russo. Who knows? At least Kate seems happy finally.

In the last three books Kate has been a stone hearted witch-with-a-B with her cold and walled up heart, but it was actually the previous book that she began to let some of her guards down to allow Jack in. Kate is beginning to warm up and is slowly accepting the boyfriend/girlfriend lifestyle for herself. In this read she is actually pretty nice and I’m kinda liking her now. Before Russo she was somewhat robotic in her responses and was so focused on her cases that little else mattered to her.

Kate is becoming more human and warm as these books progress. I suppose there’s still hope for Gem and her getting together as a couple, but I just don’t know because Kate actually seems happy. Who woulda thunk it?!

From the moment the first person was murdered, I had a hunch as to the why. Why was trash (snacks) dumped next to the body? Then when the second person was killed and she was in lingerie, I knew for sure my theory was correct. However, I didn’t know who the killer was. I took a wild guess and actually got it right, but it was just a guess.

The motive of the killer in this book reminds me of a movie I have watched a couple of times. The movie is very disturbing to me, so I avoid it, but it is a great flick. What movie am I talking about? Hint: head in a box in the middle of nowhere and an extremely handsome actor who located the box. That actor’s initials are BP (no, not Beatrix Potter. Lol.)

This is a great series and it’s cool to see the characters growing and maturing. And I never thought Kate would say that to another human being!

Next is Book 5, “Nail on the Head”.

Kate's long distance detective boyfriend, Jack, has taken time off to be with Kate. Kate is a hard-boiled detective who is constantly questioning herself only in her personal life. While Jack knows what he wants and it is Kate, Kate iis not sure if she is ready for more permanency. While they want to spend the vacation time together, Kate is taken away by a murder she catches. A floater in her favorite lake which looks just like a mob execution with a message. While investigating the murder, billionaire Gem gets in the picture and wants to help, while his new girlfriend, a defense attorney who gets the worst criminals out of jail, has Kate in a quandry. Kate feels she is chasing her tail when another floater shows up. She is a young girl about to graduate college, a good student and seems to be sqeaky clean. Or is she? And when Gem's girlfriend gets kidnapped and begs Katie and Jack to help, Kate has her hands full. Now she has 2 seemingly unrelated murders and a kidnapping. All this and she does try to get away a little with Jack - especially when her mother, semi-estranged ex-con father, and sister get involved in her relationship with Jack. Can Kate solve the murders without getting herself killed as well as figure out what she wants with her relationship with Jack, is she ready? Anything that this author writes - all of her series, are winners and this one is as well. I received an ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Hmmm can our Kate do it??? Can she bite the billet and admit real feelings for Jack?? Lol even though he knows how he feels about Kate and he knows how she feels about him our stubborn favorite detective still needs to admit love to herself but can she really do it? I mean that’s all touchy feely crap and our Kate is a hardened homicide cop...
It’s a good thing Jack is handsome and patient lol now that right there is love I think it also helps he is an FBI agent and understands her job even though it is hard when she is in danger and he has a knight in shining armor complex...
Then there is Kates close friend Gem the billionaire who would like to be more than friends but he understands Kate has made her choice and now he is moving on as well and hoping he and Kate can keep their friendship together.
Now let’s get to the nitty gritty of the story murder, murder and kidnapping!!! How is Kate going to juggle Jack being in town for a week what ends up being not one but two murders that are connected and the Gem’s new girlfriend gets kidnapped!! On top of all that Kate has her family to deal with, while trying to tie all. The ends together and find a murderer before Gem’s girlfriend becomes the next victim.
This was another heart-stopping crazy adventure with some good chuckle moments, tender hearted moments and even a few surprises.

Jacks back in town. Unfortunately, Kate gets called away for a case, so they aren't going to get to spend the time together they want, but duty calls. This case turns into two and then three. Can she solve it before it turns into four? She's trying to work her magic as fast as she can. Not just to prevent anymore deaths, but also so she can get back to her man. At first it seems to be mob related, but all her possible suspects have alibis. In addition to the crimes, Kate is trying to figure out her feelings towards her man Jake, toss in a little jealousy and she feels like she's losing it. While this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone, though if you are planning on reading the series as a whole, you will want to start with book one to better understand the characters and their relationships with one another. This is a pretty clean read. No violence, except for a drawn gun at one point. No sexual content, but it is alluded to. It's easy to read. Story moves quickly and smoothly. Great characters. It is written strictly from Kate's POV.

Jack Russo is back in town, and he and Kate plan to spend some quality time together. Then, as usual, Kate gets a call..... another dead body has been found and Kate is needed to help solve the murder. Tommy “Two-Toed” Bianchi was found floating in the lake, where he had been dumped. Then another body is found, Alastair Gem's girlfriend gets kidnapped and well, you get the picture... On top of all of this, Jack dropped the "L" word and Kate has to figure out how she truly feels about him. All of this is enough to make a girl's head explode!
This was another fun edition in the Kate Rosetti Mystery series. Kate is the ultimate female protagonist, and I love the relationship between her and Russo. This is a fun, quick read and is perfect for all of you mystery lovers out there.

I like this series. I can see that it has plenty of mileage. Not just in the murder/mystery aspect - the stories have been intriguing and interesting, nothing clichéd or predictable - true mysteries, all of them! However, the additional draw has been the interplay between all of the supplementary characters; the recurring personalities as well as the incidental ones. So much so, that I’m looking forward to what adventures Late and Jack are toppled into next? Surely something in DC, or even further afield, where Kate can meet Jack’s people and unofficially help out…

I’ll keep a lookout for more in this series, but now that I’m introduced to this author, I see that she has many other interesting titles and series to delve into!

a real page turner which moves at a quick pace.
lots of surprises, suspense, a good mystery.
great characters. some humor.
i liked that Kate has chosen b/w the 2 sexy men vying for her affections. I also think it's great that it is obvious to all & so the characters will be able to move past it & be friends. (ie. none of the back & forth that other series have, it's a nice change)

This is an example of a series in which i was lukewarm w/the first book but the books improved as they developed.

Thank you to the author for a copy of the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Murder doesn't step aside when Jack Russo comes to visit Kate. In fact, it seems to get twisted and more complex as she tries to solve the mystery and spend time with Jack! Fortunately he adapts to any situation, and in the end is there to help her when needed most. Family and work doesn't scare Jack off, but I noticed he isn't too keen to have Alistar Gem around Kate.
Pulse pounding conclusion and wonderful realizations make this another incredible Kate Rosetti story from master storyteller Gina LaManna!

Amazing book! All throughout the book I kept guessing what I thought was going to happen and who the killer might have been. More than one of my ideas were incorrect and I was left guessing until the very end! Romance is in the air as well and seems to be going very well! Murder and romance, you can't go wrong with either but makes a wonderful book when you have both! I voluntarily received and read an ARC for an honest review.

Wow! Every new book in this series is the best one! And Book #4 does not disappoint! There’s romance, intrigue, friendship, family and murder! It was hard to put this one down, but, hey, the family has to eat! Kate is a woman who believes in protecting the innocent. She has a close family, whom she loves even if they drive her crazy. She’s in a new relationship with all the insecurities that go with it. She is driven to protect her city. I would recommend this series to anyone.

Great addition to this series. I like how we see the development of Kate's relationships with the other characters. Never saw the ending coming... recommend this series but start from book 1 to understand the dynamics of the regulars.

Received an advanced copy of the book; however, the above comments are solely my opinion.

Excellent

Gina LaManna has written another gripping page turner. With the uncertainty of two former suitors finds the Detective Rosetti has two murders to solve along with the missing new girlfriend of one of her former suitors, who is now just a friend.

I will miss these books

I really enjoyed every book in this series. I enjoyed all of the characters. Every book had twist and turns and left you guessing during the book who did what. I am going to miss these books. I took my time reading them at the end of the series because like all good things, I did not want the series to end.

So many different avenues

I like that even though they are so far apart with their jobs, that Kate and Jack are together for the stories. Its an inside look at how life doesn't stop while he's visiting and how they can help each other. I liked Kate's emotional progression and wait to see where their situation goes.

It reminds me of the TV show Rizzoli and Isles. It doesn't take itself too seriously. However, I did find it annoying how often getting a coffee was talked about and how I was 80% done with the book and there were still no good leads. It made me wonder if everything was going to be solved in the last 5 pages.

I am enjoying this series so much. The group keeps growing a little, but the characters are all so much fun. Another great read of Kate Rosetti and her partner Jimmy Jones on the case of a couple of mysterious murders with Jack visiting for a bit, you have to read it to enjoy it!
