Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.

She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.

I happen to enjoy Deborah Bladon's writing.
She has the ability to create novels that have many different ways of showing relationships.

In Catch, she gives us an easy read, a couple that comes together, and secondary characters that make you interested in the future books of this series.

SO GOOD

What a light, feel good read! Honestly, I expected this hero to be more of a troublemaker based on the blurb, but he's actually pretty laidback and swoony. This isn't an enemies to lovers romance or filled with tension, it's a low angst and sexy office romance that will charm you. The characters are both easy to like, their chemistry is obvious, and I devoured it in one sitting without even realizing I was doing it. This romance flies by, and I was engaged and interested from start to finish.

The story follows Keats, a sports agent who seems like a bit of a bad boy - at least until you get to know him. He's trying to swear less, has fired four assistants already in the past year, and used to hook up with women all of the time. When Keats meets Maren under unusual circumstances, she makes such an impression that he finds himself hiring her. As they get to know each other better, attraction grows, and these two have to decide if they're willing to cross the line.

It's such an easy, sexy read that there's never a dull moment. Sure, this is a slow burn and it doesn't heat up until the back half, but you can feel the relationship progressing and the intimacy growing as the story goes on. I loved how little angst there is - even the big fight was just a blip on the radar. Really, it's just light and playful the whole way through. Keats won me over immediately; he's so adorably sexy and focused on Maren. The book opens with us learning about what a manhoe Keats has been in the past, and I'll admit to being worried that the book would head in that direction, but it doesn't at all. He's smitten from the start and there is zero OW drama beyond an acknowledgement that he's slept around in the past. I've got no major criticisms about the book at all; it was sweet, sexy, and fun.

I hadn’t read any books about sports agents before and really enjoyed this dip into something different.

Keats and Maren are great characters and it was so nice to see them get their hea.

Just this one thing got to be REALLY irritating 😒. Keats swearing and owing 100 bucks was way overdone. Both with the amount of times it was brought up and the 100 bucks a pop. Ridiculous 😒😒

GGGGGREAAAATT BOOK!
I love it very much...

‼️‼️‼️WHEN THEY FIRST START TO WORK TOGETHER AND STARS HAVING FEELINGS, well the hero is the first one who stars having feelings. BOTH DIDN’T AND GO TO ANYONE ELSE. Both are single and just never go to anyone else, not even a date. So i think this is nice because of that as well...

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS ALPHA MALE and a little possessive but not too otp possessive like i want him to be lol. He’s very protective towards the heroine which is so hot!

“SHE’S AN EDUCATED, INTELLIGENT, COMPASSIONATE WOMAN WHO DESERVES RESPECT. IF YOU VIEW HER AS ANYTHING LESS THAN THAT, WE NEED TO END THIS CONVERSATION NOW.”

He defend her to his client that he wants so bad. Which i found to very hot and romantic.
🥺🥺🥺

‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS.
But both have been celibate for a while.
They did talk about the past relationship but only one time and only that. Never too much.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE MORE THAN THE HEROINE. I was AWEEE!!! “I’VE NEVER MET ANYONE LIKE YOU. YOUR BODY IS AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOUR SOUL.”

“ANGER AND SADNESS SWIRL INSIDE OF ME. I SWEAR I FEEL REGRET EVEN THOUGH I DIDN’T MEET HER UNTIL RECENTLY. I WOULD GIVEN ANYTHING TO BE HER FIRST AND ONLY LOVE.”

‼️‼️‼️SAFE HOT ROMANTIC FUNNY LOVE STORY

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE is very caring person and smart. Like everybody always likes her and notices her present is great to be around with. I find it very funny when every client meet the heroine and the hero, they feel her good vibes so they even start to flirt with her which made the hero very mad lol.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO HAVE A CUTE NIECE THAT ALWAYS AROUND AND MADE THE WHOLE STORY SO CUTE AND FUNNY at the same time.

‼️‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT.

“The only detail that matters is that I haven’t stopped thinking about Maren since she left my office yesterday, and I’m counting the hours until i see her again.” 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION. For like two days.

It’s only a misunderstanding....
The hero tried to go to a bar and get drunk and stupid but IN THE END HE DIDN’T EVEN TOUCH ANYONE ELSE AND when some woman ask to meet her later or in the future, HE SAID NO. I like that. THE HEROINE NEVER AND DIDN’G go to anyone else...

‼️‼️‼️HOT SMUT SCENES.... very hot .

‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW AND OM. The drama is mostly about their clients only though so its ok.

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING! It has a bonus book with the longer epilogue. They are married and pregnant!

I think they will be in love forever because of how they both really into to each other and even the hero knows she’s is very much his soulmate forever. You can feel their love and connection is very great.

I can’t wait for more of this series. BERK, BIANCA AND ANYONE ELSE PLEASE AUTHOR!

Finallllly! Keats Morgan is here, and I couldn't put this book down. Maren has something that belongs to him, she is headed to Morgan Sports Management to return it. Keats, a successful self made sports agent, meets Maren for the first time when she shows up at his office returning something he didn't know was missing. Fires his assistant who was the irresponsible one and offers Maren a job. Maren's life pretty much changes for the better in so many ways.

Keats is definitely a handful, charming, attentive, funny, sweet, loving and he is the BEST Uncle. His interactions with his niece was so adorable and you could feel how much he absolutely adores her. Keats is also an amazing boss, absolutely loves his team and goes the extra mile for his clients. The more he spends time with Maren, the more he wants. Both have relationship hangups, but there is such a pull towards each other.

I LOVED this story. The best is, the cover is so relevant to the story, I LOVE IT! I love how DB always intertwines her characters from her other stories into the story you're reading. You can tell or hope those characters are eventually going to get their story. Calvetti's is a staple in the NYC characters, I really enjoyed seeing some other cameos or mentions of her previous characters in this one. The degrees of separation is special in the DB world, I love it. This can definitely be read as a standalone. The supporting characters were fantastic. Fingers crossed, I'm hoping for Pace, Beck and Fletcher to get their own stories in the near future! I can't wait for Arietta's story with her boss. I loved their chemistry, their story, just all of it.

3.5✨
that was a good drama free, light-hearted novel. it's very insta-love though and I thought that the backstory of the MCs could have deserved a greater explanation and place in the story (especially FMC's past relationships... the author drops a bomb at the end and it gets swept away way too quickly)
I was more involved with Arietta's drama than I was in the romance (so I'm going to read her book now!)

As much as it pains me to do it - I gave this one a 2.

It really had the premise to be a good one.... sexy sports agent Keats hires firecracker Maren (who has no experience in this field or as an EA) because he - well, I guess because he wants to? Of course the cross the line and become more than employee-boss with a HEA all wrapped up in a bow.

My issue is this - it was dual POV (which I normally love).... however there was no real conflict. It was as if Keats decided immediately she was the one for him (seriously?); Maren was comfortable doing something she wasn't quire interested in nor prepared for; and the only characters I enjoyed were Keats's brother Berk and his daughter.... but not enough to actually read anything else including them, if that makes sense.

There was so much more that could've been written about - Maren struggling to find her way after losing her job, Maren having numerous office romances, Keats struggling with leaving his party lifestyle behind, etc.

I get it - maybe this was supposed to be no drama, quick mindless read - but I kind of want my day back that I spent reading this.

3 Bland Stars

Well, here we have another bland, mediocre contemporary romance. There was nothing really special about this book at all.

FMC finds a dog and brings it to the owner, “playboy” sports agent MMC. MMC is instantly attracted to Maren (FMC) and hires her as his executive assistant on the spot at double her yearly salary as a public relations…person? Whatever.

Anyways. It was insta-lust, insta-love, insta-everything for MMC. There was no real reason for his feelings. I didn’t get any connection between the two of them. They didn’t really spend much quality time together becoming close. There was no relationship building. They pretty much had a crush on each other from afar and then fell into bed with professions of love.

The pinnacle of the story was a weak excuse for a 3rd act breakup. It lasts for a few pages and I honestly didn’t care. They both had an extreme overreaction to the point where it all felt contrived. Seriously.

The “spicy scenes” were practically fade-to-black. There were three spicy scenes in the entire book. Two of those scenes were MMC getting a blowjob…so he’s a selfish lover. That’s what it felt like to me. Especially because in those two scenes he demanded a blowjob, it wasn’t offered. It didn’t seem like FMC enjoyed it. There was no reciprocation. I really should knock another star off just for that.

- 👀 Dual, first person POV
- ❤️ Male/female romance
- 📱Contemporary
- 👩‍💻 Office romance (boss/assistant)
- 🔥 medium/slow burn
- 🌶️ low steam
- 🚫 No OW/OW, cheating, bullying
- ‼️ TW: mentions/history of cheating and miscarriage, death from cancer
- Low angst/drama
- 2/5 Character development stars

Maren finds herself suddenly unemployed and also finds a lost dog that belongs to Keats who owns Morgan Sports Management. When Maren shows up at Keats office to return the dog Keats ends up firing another terrible assistant in front of her. He offers Maren the assistant job making it too hard to turn down. She soon realizes right away that Keats is a handful but, also very charming, kind to his staff, and always willing to give extra to his clients. When a misunderstanding happens wooing a client Maren and Keats find themselves pretending to be a couple. Soon feelings get real fast and they aren’t pretending anymore. They are two people scared of what is happening because of their pasts. Watching their chemistry and love grow was amazingly sweet. This is an incredibly fun and great read! Lots of laugh out loud moments! I cannot wait to read Beck’s story next! I received an ARC for this book.

Loved this! It had all the makings of a great office romance without all the drama. Keats hires Maren as his assistant after she returns his sister's lost dog Dudley. She knows he comes with quite the reputation after learning he has fired four previous assistants already. Their work relationship takes a curve ball when a new potential client misinterprets them as a couple at a work dinner and instead if outright denying this, they play along to try and win this new contract. From here the lines get blurred as they fight their feelings for one another.

Keats loves his family. He looks up to his big brother and absolutely adores his niece Stevie, I can't wait to learn more about them. You can tell he has a big heart and was just waiting for the right woman to cross his path. Another fantastic story.

💥🎉💕

Keats and Maren have an interesting relationship from the very beginning. I enjoyed their chemistry and how quickly they clicked in their jobs. Maren wasn’t comfortable about lying and deceiving people and wrestled with that perception. However I think she stopped arguing against it bc of their chemistry and she was developing feelings for him.

Keats is an amazing uncle, a loving and loyal brother. However he ultimately becomes obsessed about winning over everything until he meets Maren. He immediately starts making her his priority over his business which actually shocks him. I really enjoyed watching him fall in love.

This is another smashing hit for Deborah and in my opinion a must read.

Family

I enjoyed this book because it met my book boyfriend criteria with a successful, attractive and passionate guy, but also because Keats was so close to his brother and niece. His professional sports agent business gave him so many opportunities to be a playboy, also. He did due diligence in that area fir quite some time.

Maran was the kind of female character I like, too. She was strong without having to be obnoxious. She was honest, caring and always knew the right thing to do. She feels bad even in the smallest deception which helped Keats with his trust issues.

The steam is there, but not over the top. The plot is what really kept me reading.

Amazing writer and this story is pretty good. I took a star because Maren ran. I do not like women who've worked darn hard and run away in miscommunication. It's a lazy way to use in plot point especially as weak as this misunderstanding went. Also the swear fine ran really old but the neice made up for it in personality.

I also think most of what Keats did as an agent ran to public relations. Not sure why she thought it was so different than her chosen career. Tell me otherwise. I realize agents get contracts but getting a spin on a drunk driving or cock pictures is public relations.

I didn't like the lie but they paid for it.

Unexpectedly, Very good!

I didn’t expect this to be a good book, first because this is the first book I read from this author, so I didn’t really know what to expect and second because unfortunately, It’s sad to admit that most of the time I read a MW romance novel, I end up aggravated and irritated because the male lead character is a loathsome prick and the female lead characters is a doormat with no self love or self esteem. Thank god! this one is nothing like that, other than the, kind of, cringe worthy intimate scenes towards the end, I enjoyed reading the story very much. Now I want to read Arietta’s story too!

I should have read it before XOXO

A lot of things make more sense now. Dudley for one. In this case dogs are a Women’s best friend.
This whole love story is charming and despite the “cuss” words very much about family. I wish we could have met Maren’s parents though, they sound like a lot of fun.
I was very impressed with the maturity of Stevie. I hope we get to have a story for her Dad.
As with all of Deborah’s stories there is always a spoke in the wheel, bump in the road, love disaster somewhere in the story which points out to our main characters that if you would just open up and talk over your past then this bumps and curves could be avoided.

Deborah has done it again! A sexy, funny story this was. Maren and Keats together in a office romance. The chemistry was there every twisted and turns of this amazing story. Oh my.... This story was really incredibly funny and sexy. Maren takes a job with Keats Morgan's management group. And the fun begins. I don't want to tell you the story because I don't want to tell you , because it will ruin the good parts of the story. Enjoy it U will love this book! Excited to share it!

You'll be smitten with this read

Keats Morgan is a sports agent and a fun seeker
Maren is in between jobs when she finds a stray puppy. After searching the local lost and found for pets all points leads to Keats . When she tries to return the pet to him he offers her a job.
Smitten with each other they pretend to date  in hopes of winning a client at least that’s what they tell themselves but their attraction is undeniable
No crazy over the top drama just a two people finding love in NYC and a very mature 8 year old and her dad to help them along the way

What a catch!

Maren finds herself unemployed with a lost dog and in the office of a very attractive and allergic Keats. Needless to say sparks fly and what follows won’t disappoint. I loved the characters, the twists in the plot and can’t wait to see what’s to come. I absolutely love Catch and would recommend you set aside a little time, you won’t be able to put it down once you start.

What happens when a handsome sports management owner (who is also really crazy but very sweet), a beautiful and smart woman who accidentally is in the right place at the right time to be hired by handsome owner? Instant chemistry. Throw into the mix a very precocious niece of said owner along with the gift Ms Bladon has of creating a story that is funny, touching and entertaining right to the last period.

CATCH IS SIMPLY STATED "ABSOLUTELY and POSITIVELY DELICIOUS! I couldn't stop laughing throughout this ridiculously funny, romantic tale. The characters were a delectable. I trulywas unable to tear myself from the book. Who would think that by simply recovering a dog and bringing it to its owner.... or so you think you would get a job on the spot and fall for the person..... THIS IS A ROM COM YOU JUST CAN'T MISS!

This was a fast fun read. This is the first book I have read from Deborah Bladon. I enjoyed the characters and how they met. I didn’t fall on love with them. I didn’t feel any connection with them. something I didn’t like was Maren’s backstory in the middle and I felt like it didn’t fit to the story line or her story. This is sadly something i wont pick up again. I do say read to make you own opinions.

That was such an easy read. Keats used to be a player but he gave a good reasoning (as good as it gets). Maren is a strong female character and knows what she wants and what she does not want.
They are both immediately smitten and they slowly progress to something more. A misunderstanding leads to a temporary breakup but of course there is a HEA.
Nice rhythm, likeable side characters and glitter cannon that made me laugh out loud!

the Catch

I loved Keats and Maren, never met two beautiful people inside and out then these two. Big hearts damaged but still room to Share. They met when Maren found a dog, and posted on Facebook to find owner. All responses led to Keats. Maren takes dog to Keats at his Sports Management Business, where he ends up firing his assistant and Hired Maren paying here double and 5k to keep the dog until his sister arrives home from vacation. Pleasurable read. You will love it.

I enjoyed Keats and Maren story. I think the author did amazing job with putting these characters together. I also loved how close she Keats and his siblings are. Great read! A pair of woman living together, trying to make their lives better, hopefully finding a love for forever. Neither is too hopeful, one was dumped at an awful time, then later fired from her job, now desperately needs work. The other, hopelessly crushes on her jerk boss. Great story, loved it❤️

The chemistry of these two was undeniable from the beginning. I loved his soft side with his niece and brother and her determination to be a valuable employee. What came to be after that was just perfection. I loved all the extra characters that helped tell the story. I hate that I read it so quickly and it's already over. I will impatiently await for her next book.

Boom! Another stellar book by Deborah Bladon! This was a fantastic read with a strong foundation of family, business and love.

Once burned, twice shy. Can a person ‘catch’ their happily ever after? Deborah shows us how teamwork and respect can outshine all the fluff. I absolutely adored Keats and his determination to follow his heart.

A great read!
