Alpha-heir Karl Jacobs had a life he was proud of. His company was preparing for another major product launch which would add billions to his bank account, his social life was full and varied, and he had a beautiful house situated more than three hours’ drive away from his home pack. Sure, his uncle Bevan, the current alpha of the Blue Moon pack, was pushing women at him in the hopes he’d take a mate and have children, but Karl was busy and able to sidestep most potentially awkward situations. However, at the party for his product launch, things changed drastically, and while Karl could adapt to most things, a male omega wasn’t necessarily on that list.
Tanner Corban’s life was all of his own making. He had a job he did well, even if he didn’t enjoy it, his own home and a lot of friends around him. While there were times when he wished for something more, like a mate of his own, Tanner knew that because he didn’t fit the typical omega mold, it was unlikely he’d ever find his happy ever after. When he spots an alpha at a product launch for some company he’d never heard of and the man walks away, his suspicions were confirmed. Besides, Tanner learned other news that night that had the potential to totally uproot his life.
Being adaptable to change is just one of the hurdles Tanner and Karl have to jump over. Thefts, fraud, and deceit from people usually trusted hits the men hard, both physically and emotionally. When the ultimate threat comes forward, both men are going to have to trust the other to have their backs, or it could mean death for both of them.
This is an Alpha and Omega story with a slight twist. It’s standalone and intended for adults only. #HEA, #MM, #Fated Mates.
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips. When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate. The story was great. I loved both Tanner and Karl. Karl had to wise up as he never expected to get a male Omega for a fated mate. Tanner was a sweetheart and I loved that he was actually bigger than Karl. That put a new spin on the usual Alpha/Omega stories with Omegas always petite sized. It was awesome that Karl accepted his size and actually loved snuggling against his chest and that he accepted Tanner was a tough police detective.
The story had low/medium angst. It was told in both their POV.
Yet another great one from this author. I had no idea it was coming so it was a great surprise. I loved both characters, even when Karl was being a bit thoughtless and wishy washy. But he pulled through pretty quickly so it was nice to have that quick turnaround without endless monologues of pointless uncertainty. Great balance on that. It wasn’t too quick to be unbelievable and it kept the story moving. Tanner was great all around and it’s always nice to get such a balanced MC. He’s so level headed and such a sweetheart. I liked their style of conflict resolution: to the point without a ton of drama. I always say no sense borrowing trouble and that’s how I saw them solving problems. I look forward to the next book in whatever series it will be in
This author is an auto buy for me. This I 1-clicked before I even read the blurb. And it didnt disappointed. A great fated mates story with a pinch of drama/action and as always with this authors stories I'm left wanting more. Definitely reccomend.
What a story. Now Lisa, I’m telling you that I know you have other stories to write but I am telling you that you HAVE to write another one in this book. What with Baum, and then vampires, that makes another story at least. Plus their move. Now I will sit around wondering! Oh Lisa, pretty please 🙏 we need another story or perhaps a series. And if you write more I will be sure to buy it.
Another 5 star for Lisa! This books is now in my top 3, I love Omegas out of the mold and honestly Tanner being bigger and hunkier than Karl pushed all the right buttons on me, he was really caring but still hold his ground when Karl old fashioned ideas hit their relationship, I was crying when his auntie died and he was still going throught his mate reject. Now talking about Karl, he was really stupid with relationships and I laughed at the pregnant talking scene, I was really glad when Tanner told him about his lacking love making skills and then when he did it right their wolves finally got together, it was beautiful to read. It impressed me that he didn't care about his public image and he just hold Tanner and fight throught their problems together, reading his POV on Tanner being bigger than him and imagining their interactions was really refreshing, I hope I could find more books like this because More than a handful is now my top reference for what I', alwais looking for on an Alpha/Omega couple.
No one dispenses justice in a story quite like Lisa Oliver does. The bad guys get it and the good guys come out on top.
This story starts with the alpha, Karl, officially leaving his old pack and soon meeting his fated mate, Tanner. Neither is what the other expects and that is where the angst starts.
There were a couple points where I thought the plot would go a certain way... and it didn’t. Bravo for keeping me guessing.
In the afterword, the author acknowledges the challenge of a “stand alone” story. This is a bit of a joke among her fans as there are usually so many great secondary characters clamoring for their own story. Let’s hope that is the case here too.
My only quibble is the turnaround in Karl’s attitude toward a male omega comes very quickly. I expected a bit more struggle than that, put it down to the pull of the mate bond, I guess.
I have read most of Lisa Oliver's 60+ books (except the bondage ones) and she writes in a niche genre I read a lot of, so I keep expecting I will eventually find one I don't like,or get bored with recurring themes. However she keeps surprising me. At the end of the book I always want to see more from the new characters, I am invested and entertained and fond of them. It is why she keeps getting calls to make everything into its own series I presume.
I open the new book and it seems I have blinked and the book is read and finished and I am smiling as my heart is warmed by the characters' ending/epilogue.
This book is about Karl and Tanner, Karl is not expecting his fated mate to be male... oops (doesn't he know he is in an MM book?) Tanner is both a vice cop and an omega, both hard nosed and soft hearted. Karl is an idiot at their first meeting and needs to find Tanner before he leaves the area for good.. dum dum dummmm!
This is the 12th book in the Alpha and Omega series and in as good as the rest. This time we have a Alpha wolf shifter -Karl and a very unusual (he is 6' 6" and a vice detective) Omega wolf shifter - Tanner. There are the usually misunderstanings and adjusts to be made on both sides, a scheming Alpha uncle, a treacherous wolf shifter P.A, the death of a beloved friend and the start of a new pack which all results in a HEA. Miss Oliver stated at the end of the book it won't become a series but given the reaction of her fans it looks like she will turn it into one, hopefully her muse's will start talking soon.
This was a great story of a billionaire alpha shifter businessman meeting his fated mate, an omega larger than himself. What a shock when he was expecting a small woman as he was straight! Tanner is a police detective and very hurt by the rejection and it take some doing to get them on the same page. Tanner is a virgin and Karl is a very clumsy lover. While working through their relationship, Karl and Tanner deal with major theft from his company, trouble with Karl's old pack, and a murderous uncle all with setting up a new pack. It was a great read and of course there is a HEA.
I have mixed feelings about this series in general, and this book in particular. I like the couples, and the story, but I wish that these books could be more tightly integrated with each other, rather than being a bunch of stand-alones that only have alphas/omegas in common.
Having said that, I liked that, while Tanner was hurt by his mate’s initial rejection, he still functioned, and went about organizing his life away from his mate. It was Karl who nearly fell apart, and became a bit hysteric, when faced with the possibility of Tanner leaving.
I was very happy to see another book in this Alpha and Omega series by one of my favourite MM author's and I can definitely say this book didn't disappoint.
What I liked about this book was the slight twist on the Alpha Omega trope with the Omega being not what you expected and the Alpha adjusting to a new reality that his fated mate was male not female as he expected.
Lots of drama, action scenes and everything you'd expect from a book by Lisa Oliver. Recommended.
Another wonderful book, just the thing to escape into and not worry about the real world for a few hours. I must admit to a few tears and a lump in my throat, reading Julie and Tanner's last moments together, to me that's the sign of a story so well written that you forget that the characters aren't real and you get caught up in their emotions and situations. So once again Ms. Oliver thank you for another wonderful book ❤
Rating: 4 stars Other than the fact that Karl annoyed me throughout most of the beginning of this story, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved Tanner and his relationship with Aunt Janet touched me. I loved that he was not the typical male omega and was bigger than Karl and tough in his own right. He didn’t put up with Karl’s attitude and wasn’t afraid to stand up for himself. All in all, a great addition to the Alpha and Omega series.
More Than a Handful (Alpha & Omega series book 12) by Lisa Oliver
Lisa Oliver just keep doing it, and by that, I mean writing awesome an story that for a little while takes us away from our current situation. I loved the character Tanner and how his normal persona became so much more. Looking forward to the next book in this series (😁). I recommend all books written by Lisa Oliver, you will not be disappointed.
The best part of this story was that Tanner was strong and smart. He stood on his own two feet and wasn't some damsel in distress. Karl was the damsel in distress, not Tanner which is exactly what this trope of fated mates need especially omegas. Where other's always makes the omegas the weak damsel in distress (just like some always make women mc like this too) Ms Oliver makes the omega/Tanner the back bone.
This is a really good book and I enjoyed it so much!
Karl is definitely a little clueless though willing to learn from his misconceptions and errors and Tanner is an absolute sweetheart of an omega who is caring and very considerate of others. Together they do an excellent job of overcoming a conniving and murderous relative.
Outstanding story about Karl, a extremely wealthy alpha who only pursues females and Tanner, a detective in Vice. Tanner isn’t like the standard omega, he’s very tall, strong and is independently minded. Loved this story about 2 strong willed shifters who learn to love with everything that makes them different! Outstanding Lisa Oliver!!
I always look forward to a new book by Lisa Oliver. It's always a must buy for me. I really enjoyed the story about Karl and Tanner. It was a nice change that the omega was so different to how they are normally portrayed. Would love to read more about how the new Corban pack develops. Highly recommended!!
I love nothing better than a book that makes me cry, laugh, and then resolves happily. Lisa Oliver sure delivers in the new addition to the Alpha and Omega series as two lone wolves discover each other after tragedy and have to learn how to live together.
I'm never disappointed by Lisa Oliver's stories! This story was a little different that an omega wolf was bigger than his alpha and although he was a virgin, he had to educate his alpha on how to make love to a mate. I truly enjoyed this book and was saddened to hear it wouldn't become a series (never say never right). Keep your wonderful books coming!
I can’t say I’ve too many paranormals, but this one didn’t please me as much. Too many things had me rolling my eyes and I almost DNF (like 3 times) but I powered through. The plot is not as solid as I would like it to be, and I’m still not sure how I feel about the MCs. Anyways, it’s the 12th book of the series, so I totally understand get it, there is no wow factors.
Another great wolf shifter book. And always love the character gets she makes come to life. This o e was a bit different in the fa t there was a bigger omega But it turns out that was a goodchoice
I love this series. They don't regress, have interesting characters and an easy flow that keeps you hooked till the end and leaves you wanting more. Can't help being greedy :) Totally worth the money spent.
I always love Ms. Oliver's stories. This one was well written with well developed characters. I always buy the second I realize there is one available. Awesome as always. I will say that if she decides to make this a new series I will be buying and reading everyone of them.....PLEASE
Another solid book fro the trusty author. It is a lovely wolf-shifter story with all the turns, twists and uncertainties expected from Lisa's stories. Karl and Tanner's story is just what I needed and expected it to be. I hope to see many more like that from her.
I kind of dropped out of this series (too many in my TBR pile) but this just came out and I had to check it out. It’s really good and def inspiring me to go back to the earlier books in this series and search out the ones I’ve missed.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked how Tanner wasn’t your typical omega and was going to be treated as an equal. Karl had to grow in the book and he found his footing in the relationship.
It won’t be my last! Thoroughly enjoyed the developing relationship between Karl and Tanner and hope to read many more and I can see I’ve got a lot to choose from.
