Pineapple House Hunter

Rate this book
Pineapple Port Mysteries by Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Amy Vansant, is a funny, clean, and gore-free small-town, female amateur sleuth series, but with all the pulse-pounding excitement of a detective thriller.
When Declan and his uncle Seamus find a dead woman in the master closet of a house for sale, Seamus hopes that means he'll get a deal...but private detective Charlotte Morgan is more interested in why the body has a note pinned to its chest: Where are you going to keep YOUR clothes?
When another body with a second note is found at a listing held by the same real estate agency, Charlotte is hired to find out who's trying to ruin them. The handsome owner of the agency has a way with the ladies... is one of his jilted lovers out to demonstrate just how angry a woman scorned can get?
Too bad Charlotte's neighborhood "moms," Mariska and Darla, can't help with this mystery --- they're on a treasure hunt bound to cost them their weekend... and maybe their life!

Wow! Just when you think a series can't get any better! Any Vansant has pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this book. I just loved it! There is so much going on that it kept me hooked until the end, often chuckling to myself. The gang of Pineapple port are all present, especially the characters you have come to know and love if you have kept up with this fantastic series and even if this is your first adventure into Charlotte's quirky world you won't be disappointed or have any problems getting into the story. Great characters add to the mystery and what you think is just a little bit of light humour turns out to be a hilarious ending and a great conclusion. The story has several stories or cases running throughout the book, so it jumps about a bit but this works beautifully and there is a very good reason for it. I did work out who the killer was but there was still a few surprises and twists to keep me on my toes. It is a clever and very well worked out plot. I would highly recommend this book (in fact the whole series) and as I was reading it I could already imagine the narrator reading it to me, guess I will be line to get the audio book too.
Declan has finally talked his uncle into moving out of his home. The problem is something is wrong with every house they look at - the kitchen is to small, not in the right area. But even Declan agrees his uncle should buy a house when they discover a dead body hiding in the closet. The first thing they do is call in private investigator and Declans girlfriend Charlotte. With the sheriff out of town, Deputy Daniel is more than happy for the assist especially when they get another body turn up staged just like the first. The second body is also associated with the same realtor and the owner hires Charlotte to investigate who is sabotaging her business. Can she find the killer and the meaning behind the strange notes. At the same time Charlotte is investigating, Declan is having his own problems, somebody is targeting his pawn shop and customers. Can Charlotte find the time to help him out? And what about Darla and Mariska (Charlotte's stand in mum's) with Frank the Sheriff away, someone has to keep an eye on them because who know what sort of trouble those two can get into.
I can't wait for the audio book version to come out or the next book in this great series.
I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I always enjoy a Pineapple Port Mystery. In this installment, Declan and his uncle Seamus find a dead woman in the master closet of a house for sale with a note pinned to her. Shortly thereafter, another dead body is found in a different house for sale. Items in common, notes pinned to the victims and the same real estate company is representing the houses for sale.

Charlotte is hired to investigate. Does someone have ill feelings toward the real estate company, it’s owner or is it something else.

This is a well-written book. I enjoy the humor, twists and turns, and thriller aspects to the story.
I know I can count on a well-written, thought out book whenever I pen one of Ms. Vansant’s book. I can never turn the pages fast enough. I recommend this book if you like humor in your mysteries.

I received an e-copy of this book but am not required to leave a positive review.

Amy Vansant did not disappoint. Pineapple House Hunters is everything I have come to expect from a Pineapple Port Mystery. All of my favorite characters with all of there hilarious antics. And mysteries within mysteries abound. I got a little lost in the initial heart attack and how it related to the rest of the murdery stuff, but it righted itself. This book is like walking through a fun house..so many places to look and things to enjoy...it was a real pleasure to read. And in one sitting. WIN

Love the ending

Hands down, Darla and Mariska are hilarious. I want to be just like them when I retire. However, they have seriously reaffirmed by belief that Florida is the last place I want to live.

Charlotte lands another case when realtors begin to drop like flies. With Frank out of town, Charlotte runs around various crime scenes looking for clues. However, one of the murders ties back to another case she gets hired to look into when Declan's shop is broken into along with a couple of her neighbors houses. Add to that the shenanigans of Darla and Mariska and another case arises for Charlotte to solve. It would be nice if she could get paid for all of the running around she does.

The story was a bit confusing. It seemed to be going all over the place. But I guess that's because there were so many things going on at the same time. Only some of them, however, had anything to do with the mysterious murders going on. The rest was simply the things that happen in this community called Pineapple Port.

The mysterious murders kept Charlotte on her toes. And it's a good thing she's very close to the police chief, Frank, or she would have been locked out of getting important clues. There were many things going on that were secret and that made it more difficult to separate fact from fiction. In the end, though, Charlotte manages to get to the bottom of what's been going on and justice is served. Of course it's served with a little bit of light-hearted humor.

The Pineapple series is hilarious to a fault...the antics will make you laugh out loud!

I absolutely love this series! Pineapple House Hunters is every bit as enjoyable as the rest of the series! The characters are so rich and colorful you might swear you know them personally! Amy Vansant is wickedly funny and certainly knows how to bring her characters to life in vibrant colors and hilarious situations! The antics of this crowd will make you chuckle long after you've finished the book. This series is great for any PG 13 crowd and would make an excellent gift!

Sweet Revenge
This book is the 12th in a series that is best read in order. There are a few story arcs that build on themselves over the course of the series. Beyond that, all of the mysteries are completed in one story. In this episode, dead bodies are popping up everywhere while the Sheriff is out of town. Several people are on treasure hunts that cause them to tear up furniture and tear down walls. It is very colorful. The series is so funny! The stories are gentle mysteries with no gore, bad language, or open-door sex.

Excellent

Another great romp around Pineapple Port with Charlotte investigating a series of real estate murders and break ins. Are they connected? Meanwhile, Carla and Mariska find treasure - or do they? All is not as it seems. Charlotte, Declan and the gang find clues, give us a few laughs along the way and find time to set up a little revenge along the way. Totally enjoyable.

I received this book as a gift from the author's newsletter, THANK YOU! (you should join it)

and Ive read the entire series. I especially LOVED this one, author adopted a much darker vein of humor and had me cackling throughout. But then, after all, we ARE in a pandemic. I needed something great. This whole series is highly recommended. I never leave spoilers, (although I might say that I was rooting for the alligator) but please, trust me, you'll love Charlotte and crew.

Thank You!

I've missed the delightful cast of characters from Pineapple Cove. When I saw this title, I interrupted the book I was currently reading to catch up on the latest. Well worth the interruption. Charlotte, Declan, Seamus, Mariska, Darla, Frank, and Bob - all present, accounted for, and ready for the next Big Thing. (Mariska and Darla are my favorites!) Thanks again for another Pineapple story. They are the best.

Cute mystery with laugh out loud moments. Fun characters and a unique storyline that kept me interested until the last page.

Charlotte is hired to solve her first murder case which is also a possible cheating husband case. Meanwhile Darla and Marisa are trying not to be eaten by an alligator and Declan is dealing with a customer who wants back everything he sold to Declan.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

Declan is tired of his Uncle Seamus moving in after his bar is damaged. While checking out a house, they discover the body of a dead woman in the master closet … and she’s only the first of several. The head of a real estate agency hires Charlotte to track down who could be trying to destroy her agency! In the meantime, Marissa and Darla find some buried treasure while remodeling … or is it really? You will laugh out loud at their shenanigans!!!

I'm loving this series!!!

This series has quickly moved up in my top ten favorites list. The characters are loveable, quirky, funny as all get out and just down right fun to read about. Yes, you can read any book in the series at any time but if you do that you miss how everyone came together in the beginning and trust me, you don't want to miss a single minute of this groups crazy antics! Do I recommend this series? A resounding YES!

Amy Vansant's Pineapple Port mysteries are always funny and entertaining (I've read the whole series), but this one outdoes itself. Mariska's and Darla's escapades when trying to redo the interior of Darla's house are priceless and hilarious. Amy is definitely right up there with Jana DeLeon and Janet Evanovich in humorous writing skills.

Always so much fun

If you’re not reading all of the shenanigans at Pinapple Port, what the heck are you doing? This is one the funniest, most entertaining series out there, easy. Charlotte is a delight, her family at the community is a riot and there is the boyfriend who gets into funny messes too.mi would like some romance though, it would just add to the book.

Another good story

Charlotte, Declan, Seamus, and the rest of the neighbors are back trying to solve a series of murders in the area. Great characters and a good plot set in the 55+ community where most of them live. A true cosy with no explicit sex or bad language so that makes it even better. A fun read.

This is one series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. You can read them in the order they were written or completely out of order ... they are still good mysteries! I love all the characters & the way they interact with each other.

Amy Vansant, keep them coming! I am going to start the Kilty series next.

Selling Houses is murder!

Charlotte is minding her own business until Declan calls. Seamus is house hunting with Declan when they look at a house they like. But after going into the house, it smells odd. They soon see why!

Hidden treasure or not

I loved reading this story with the supposed treasures hidden if the walls of a house as well as the bodies with realty sayings intended to throw everyone off.

Intriguing

Charlotte has a really intriguing case this time. Someone is killing realty agents and leaving odd quotes behind. She has plenty of help (as usual) and some leads to follow. But, sometimes, things are not quite as easy as they seem.

Decent read

Really enjoy this series. Characters, setting and twisty plot make pleasant reading. Not sure what was missing from this one, but it didn't catch and hold my attention like the earlier ones did. Looking forward to Pineapple Circus.

Pineapple House Hunter (12)

Just another example of how to get what you want from anyone anytime!! This was quite a story. With the bad guys leading way in front of the good guys most of the entire story! However, of course, the truth wins every single time!

You might think checking out homes is exciting, however, when Detective Charlotte gets called in, the excitement includes murder. Bodies are showing up and Charlotte needs to track down leads before the market is overrun. As usual, Mariska and Darla are up to their hijinks and laughter ensues!

I love these fun cozy mysteries with characters that have become friends!
