Jailbreak #2

Nail 'Em

Rate this book
We escaped the Institute, but sometimes you bring the cage with you.

I feel like I'm a shell of what I was, part of me crying out for the man I left behind, but the other is determined to live no matter what. For my child.

But living means dealing with the consequences of our escape. I thought it was going to be me and Jai against the rest of the world, but now there's Zane and all the other men I freed. They stood back in respect to our bond, but with Jai caged by his own pack, they're closing in.

But why have his own people decided to hold him in a cell rather than let him come to me? Why do they seem to think they can break our mate bond? And how can we get him free?

It's going to take all five of us to get my mate back and more besides and in doing so, I'm going to learn more about myself, Nan and my home than I ever wanted.

That's OK. They either free my mate, or I'm prepared to nail those old bastards to the wall.

I enjoyed it, but I have to say ... fuck that entire Australian pack. The fact that even when they found out what happened, these asshole guys tried to stop the FURIOUS women from ripping out the throats of those abusive old men ... nope. Those women should have killed anyone who got between them and those old bastards. Any man should be fucking straight off with his tail between his legs. I get that some of the men were also victims, but in a different way - they were mind-wiped and forced to do things, fine. The women had half their lives and all their power and agency taken away from them.

Those old men should be skinned alive and staked out under the desert sun. And the pack should now be a matriarchy. Period. NO men in any position of authority, in any way, shape, or form.

I just ... it all left a bad taste in my mouth. All of it.

Otherwise, I like the overall story a lot. I still feel like there's a lot of hand-wavy bullcrap that I'm really hoping don't end up being holes. And I am not super thrilled that the ratio of sex-to-plot feels like 50/50. But I'm invested and will read the last book for sure.

Nail 'Em is the second book in the Jailbreak series and it was filled with an emotional rawness, undeniable love, and so much steam I felt like I was in a sauna, I loved it! This book pulled me in and didn't want to let me go, I had a hard time putting this one down.

I don't even know where to start, gawd it was so much. The book picks up right where the first book left off, with Shannon dealing with the emotional fallout of what happened in the Capricorn Institute and after they escaped. Shannon and the guys went through so much while captured and Shannon even more after they're freed so everyone is dealing with PTSD but it seems especially hard on Shannon. Shannon had a mostly normal life and then everything went to shit and even worse yet she is separated from Jai, her first mate, and longtime love. In the beginning, Shannon isn't the strong female she was at the end of Tail 'Em, she has lost a lot and has so many raw emotions running rapid and it's all too much on her system. She is learning to cope not only with her feelings but with all of the guys' feelings as well and by the end she has grown herself to be an even stronger, more confident person than before. It's a great way of showing that while things may happen and you may hit lows you can always build yourself back up.

While this story did have some action it was primary focused on the characters. On Shannon building relationships with the guys, learning small little tidbits about them, and connecting on a whole new level. I loved getting more information about the guys, some of their families come into play and I got a whole new insight into who they are. I loved how they took their time with Shannon, they wanted to connect to her, and Zane has been the best mate Shannon could have asked for. He is caring, protective, loving, and supportive, much different from the Zane in the previous book, I loved him. I also got a much deeper looking in Kaz and he kinda broke my heart, how he is feeling deep down, all the things he went through. Ugh, my heart goes out to Kaz and I can understand Nero's protectiveness, heck I want to protect him myself. Nero surprised the heck out of me in this book, he was a little hot and cold but in the end... . I can't say anything else about the guys without giving things away but I want to see that my heart swells at the relationship everyone is forming, it was one of the best things about this book.

The story was great and held my rapt attention. First, the group is dealing with Caleb's dad, and let me tell you the man is a piece of work. I couldn't stand him much like how I didn't like Jai's pack and now things are becoming so clear as to what was off about them and that little shocking plot twist was something to behold. Not to mention all the mystical information that somehow got tied seamlessly into the story, werewolf myths, shifter religion and so much more came into play and it was fascinating. The nerd in me rejoiced about all this new, cool information and I want more of it. More myths, more shifter lore, a better understanding of Moon Mother, I want all of it. I am hoping to read a little more about it in the next book.

Nail 'Em was the book for a few shocking plot twists and the biggest reveal I have ever read, gawd this book kept me riveted. All the dirty secrets were coming out, the tentative allies and not quite knowing who to trust, then add in growing powers and all the relationship drama and a missing mate. With the biggest plot twist I have ever seen at the end, Nail 'Em was one heck of a ride and I can't wait to see what fresh hell is gonna happen in the next book. I am beyond ready for Jail 'Em, bring it on.

This book was as good as I knew it was going to be. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen to Shannon and her mates. At first I wasn't sure about Nero but he slowly grew on me. Zane has stepped up and I love him to death. Kaz is a doll and is great but he was before. And Gaden, I CAN'T wait to see where this goes. He had such a heartbreak that you feel for him so hope it all works out.

The Characters from the Outpost Sam Hall gave us great character depth and growth (I was excited to meet Mongrel and his crew). From Warren to Blaze. The meeting of some her mates family.

Nail ‘Em finds Shannon coming into her powers with the help of her men & growing the connections with them to take down the bad guys and take back Jai who they had imprisoned. Along the way, she learns there is so much more to her than what she was told by her grandmother. And who is Finn? Her father? What are his plans for the future of shifter kind?

This series is a must read and I can't wait for book 3!!!

What a journey...
So full of heat and emotion. Some particular scenes drawn out to drag you through the lustiness. I am sure I kept missing vital bits so felt a bit lost in the main stream translations but otherwise it was fast..slow...fast.
Emotional roller coaster, steamy as.
Cannot wait to conclude it all.
The conception is one of its kind.

Tail 'Em (Jailbreak, #1) by Sam Hall Nail 'Em (Jailbreak #2) by Sam Hall Jail 'Em (Jailbreak, #3) by Sam Hall

Caleb: Wolf shifter. American. Ex military, super loyal. Head rules his heart until those he cares about are hurt. Comes from a complex family background.
Nero: Lion shifter. American. Mate of Kazimir, but interested in pursuing things with the MC as well. Born to rule, but grew up in quite a repressive environment. Can be controlling.

A gripping smoking read, and the only issue I had was the number of characters in scenes and confusingly written dialogue that made it impossible for me to figure out who was saying what. This was especially bad in the beginning when I was still trying to remember what the previous book was about.

Other than that, it was lots and lots of hot smut while the men figure out how to navigate their mating urges with Shannon and Shannon learns exactly how powerful her abilities are. The overall plot of the book is to figure out how to save Jai and what exactly what going on with her old pack in Australia.

I look forward to reading the next book and how Caleb and Jai handle their competing wolves in Shannon's harem.

I don’t even know where to begin with this book. Would it be okay if I just said that I loved it and left it at that? Then I wouldn’t be doing this absolute masterpiece of a book justice. So, bear with me, because Sam Hall continues to blow my mind.

In a style that is uniquely Sam Hall, Nail ‘Em picks up where we left Shannon and her makeshift harem. Where is that exactly? Geographically, Jai is still back in Australia, while the rest have made their way to the U.S. and Caleb’s father’s pack. Physically, they are battered, bruised, exhausted, tired, hormonal, antsy, anxious, and turned on. Emotionally, they are a bit paranoid, beaten down, scared, worried, lonely, angry, jealous, frustrated, confused, sad, curious, aroused, enamored, hopeful and in need.

We get to know Caleb and Zane’s backgrounds a little more, see where they come from, what’s shaped them and made them into the men they’ve become. We get to see the harem solidifying their bonds with Shannon and with one another. We get to see Shannon coming into her own, discovering her power, owning that power, and claiming her loves.

There is action and adventure, emotion and angst, love and steam. This story is missing nothing. I mean, it’s almost overwhelming with the emotions of Shannon and her pack. They are so real and they just waft off the page. Love, want, lust, need, heartbreak, and grief reign supreme.

This book was almost poetic! I got lost in the words, the imagery, and the feelings that they created as if my thoughts were invaded and colored and all of my senses filled to the brim. It’s like being in the ocean and the feeling of being surrounded by water; how it slows your movements and you can’t help but be overcome by the waves, being pulled under, and finding yourself gasping for air once you’ve breached the surface and you’re just waiting for the next wave you just know is coming.

Scene by scene, you just drown in this story and it’s such a delicious feeling to be so completely pulled into a story that its reality threatens your own. And the steam…OMG! Every scene was absolutely incredible and essential. There was this one quote that I read: “He was much slower, sweeter in his kisses now, ones that almost lulled me into a sensual trance.” And I said, yes that’s what this book is doing to me. It’s lulling me into a sensual trance.

And it’s so much more than just about the sex. This book is deep with the emotions. That trance is a mind, body, and soul engulfing trance. I am so excited for the next part of this story!

Honestly I just got bored. The smut gets really repetitive, especially since there was already so much of it in the first book. The FMC isn't dislikable, but she's not likable either. There's no connection, no wanting to know how her story ends or even vague curiosity of all the secrets surrounding her. She's too weak to walk a couple feet (considering she's carried everywhere she goes) but she runs in the woods and has sex in the water/woods?

Spoiler-

Zane is the main guy, at least from the part of the book I read which I don't like. He was so overtly gross and creepy in the first book and doesn't actually grow as a person or make changes or even apologize, he just suddenly is a different person when it comes to Shannon. I don't understand the reason why Shannon is shunning Caleb, she's almost cruel to him but for what?

Speaking of Caleb, sort of, what's up with the FMC immediate dislike of the 3 girls during breakfast? It's all very "But she wears short skirts and I wear t-shirts", super pick me but the majority of girls get over that at age 15. The 3 women deserve none of the "plastics" and "mean girl" vitriol tossed at them from the FMC. They knew Caleb since they were all little, they were invited, they were led to believe he was still single, and the moment they learn he's not all three of them back off. So what was the point of this? You can prove Caleb's parents aren't the greatest without tearing down other women just because they were made up and dressed nicely.

I do like Nero's distrust in Shannon, he doesn't forgive her for what she did and I think that's very valid. But at point he is trying to help her and she's like "I'm not a box you can tick" and gets angry at him out of no where then (stupidly) takes off running and (of course) falls down to hurt herself and it's all so... I just want to roll my eyes.

So many of the male characters that are introduced are immediately making rapey comments to Shannon. And it's excused as "that's just how they are". All of them? Really? Wasn't being kidnapped and forced into sexual acts in front of cameras and god knows how many people enough? We really got to through in sexual harassment at every turn?

The FMC can connect with Jai across a distance, she even can see what is around him but doesn't think to take anything in? Doesn't think to mention this to the others?

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was in no way compensated for my time or views on this book

I have a few more than 5 Reasons for my 5 Stars so let’s see how far we go shall I?

I love how confused the sentencing is in the beginning of the book. Shannon is a little all over the place. Her hormones and emotions jumping from one extreme to the next. Her complete and utter loss of Jai to her sinking into her new and blossoming feelings for Zane are such a journey.
Such a big fan of how realistic it was in the sense that she didn’t just fall in love with the men. They all really had to work for it. Including Shannon. Even with all the lust and insta mating they didn’t just magically fall in love.
Zane has grown to be the most amazing character. How he seems to have matured. I love how he has stepped up from the first book.
Ooooh I love a surprise bad guy. No more spoils.
I absolutely love how Sam Hall gives you a happy(ish) ending with the most ridiculous cliff hangers that have you gasping for more.
So much of action packed fun through out the entire book. There literely was never a dull moment. Sex scenes, suspense, meeting mom’s, dads and sisters, dreaming about lost mates and finding out about mysterious dads. Every moment in the book is so intense to read that there was never a good place to just put it down and take a break.
Wanna know the sign of a truly epic RH author? When she writes a harem so well that you really cannot pick a favourite book boyfriend. I kept changing favourites throughout the book. Constantly. Zane would be super sweet and thoughtful. Then Kaz woud say something and call her his little hawk (in my head) with that super sexy accent. And just as I think I have it nailed down Nero is all dominating and hot AF.
This was such a fun journey to go on and I cannot wait to carry on with our characters and the path that they have to continue on.

I give Nail Em 4.5 stars. Book 2 picks up right at the end of book 1. Shannon has to find her ground while being newly mated and pregnant. She deeply misses Jai and really struggles to look past that – to her other mates. Through book 2 Shannon develops her powers and bit by bit finds her footings with her new family or pack. She refuses to leave Jai and decides to save him. All in all Shannon performs as a strong woman who fights for what she wants. There are quite a few things that stood out to me i.e. the connections between the guys and Shannon. They are all unique, they all connect in different ways. I absolutely loved the relationship between Kazimir, Nero and Shannon. The way Zane and Caleb are so deeply devoted to Shannon really got me.
On the other hand it kind of broke my heart how Gaden separates himself. He sometimes even seems to loathe his whole new situation and the people now in his life. I mean – for a change there was no insta love but it was difficult to read nevertheless. I get that Gaden is just not ready to move on, who would be after all he had to go through – but I really struggled with the lack of development in Shannon’s and Gaden’s relationship…until the end of the book :)
I kind of liked that Jai was out of the picture for a good chunk of the book and I know the lot of you probably hate me for it – he just often seems like the most „important“ mate, because Shannon and him have so much more history than Shannon and the other boys. I just thought that Jai's absence gave room for Shannon and the other guys to connect.
Looking forward to book 3.

I enjoyed the story and was very glad that Gaden wasn't pushed into anything ;) it was my biggest fear for this book and thankfully he was given time to process everything.
Zane's transformation from sarcastic prick to the most loving mate ever was quite surprising, but I was happy that Shannon had support like that when she was hurting. Nero being unsure and a bit distrustful after what happened in the institute was valid, so I did expect for him and Kaz to take their time with mating Shannon. I thought that he may not do it in this book, and that Kaz was much more into her than Nero, but it was nice to be wrong ;) It was so bittersweet to learn how big Kaz's heart was, because of circumstances that made him so love starved that he wanted to love everyone and show them how important and cherished they were. I was sad that Caleb was holding back in this book, that man deserved to be loved and mated, yet he couldn't go fully in, because of his fear how Jai's and his wolves may clash when they finally got Jai back.
I didn't get why the elders had to lock Jai up, they could control every member of the pack then, so why not just order him to stay on the pack's land and obey all their orders? The poor guy didn't deserve another incarceration.
Shannon annoyed me at times, but I guess she was going through hormonal changes AND processing the whole institute situation AND living without the guy which she loved for years just after she finally got together with him, so she could be excused for her stupider moments ;)

This is a fast burn book with F/M and M/M.
It has some amazing characters that we fell in love with in Tail'em as well as a few new ones. Zane is the main mate focus for Shannon in this one. Not to say that her other mates aren't there even Jai is a little bit. Zane has all the unbelievable snarky comments. He has the amazing family. His mother is totally alpha female bad ass. His sisters are lovable as well. You learn a lot more about him as well as Caleb, Kaz, Nero, and Gaden. You even find out some about her father.
First Shannon was a bit of a whiny want to strangle female in this book. But once she got her emotions and everything under control she went back to being a bad ass.
One my favorite funny moments was in chapter 35 when Mongrel and his men wanted to see her power. She made the two men think the other was her and they started striping each other. When she released them they started to freak and she told them "put limits on it next time." Or in 36 with "If you lay a finger on me, I'll have you rutting up against a gum tree, grating your dicks against the rough bark, thinking your fuc*ing me" Lol
I cheered when Shannon showed the pack what what had been happening. Not just the last few months but generations. I t was so easy I found myself holding my breath until...CLIFFHANGER

You know what I have figured out about Sam Hall series? Each and every one starts with characters struggling thru something (of course they do) but then you get to see all of the layers to that struggle. You feel the characters emotions. You take the journey with them. Then when you think you have plummed all the depths of the story and its characters, she hits you with a new layer of intrigue and leaves you with your mouth hanging open salivating for more!

This book was soooo incredibly good. The FMC is heartbroken but trying to work thru her heartache for those she cares about. Though she is relatively safe, she knows in her heart she is not. She spends so much time being criticized or having her character called into question. I found that a bit hard to read. There were times I wanted to shake her and other times I wanted to high five her. There were times I felt like she didn't deserve all of the love and consideration she was getting from her men. Ultimately, she fines her core of strength and does what she needs to for herself and her men. All I can say is read it. Read it and then you too will know the pain of the wait for the next one hahaha. Better yet, go and read the first one again before reading the second one. That's what I did and I am glad I did. Trust me. Do it.

Couldn’t put it down!

I have been anticipating this book for quite some time and it was worth the wait. Now, I don’t know if I was already pretty emotional or what but by the end of the book I felt like I had been put through the ringer.

Unlike most shifter novels this one is quite unique; there are terms used that in the past I didn’t really like, but as this story builds I don’t give two thoughts about it anymore. Our characters are in a precarious situation, emotions are high but they must come together to overcome what’s threatening them.

I like the slower build in the relationships, they are fated to be with each other but are willing to take the time to process, get to know each other, reinforced that their feelings are their own.
I like where their story is heading, and trying to understand why they were kidnapped and experimented on in the first place. I also like how complex it is because not only do they have to was out for the Capricorn organisation but also Shifters that fear Shan’s abilities and the threat she may pose.

I really can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Book 2 in the Jailbreak Series from the very awesome Queen of Shifter Smut, Sam Hall, see’s Shannon and her mates negotiate the aftermath of what happened to them in the institute. Will they bond together as the pack they seem destined to be, and how will they get Jai back to his rightful place with them?

As with all Sam’s shifter books, we get a good supply of sex n slick, what more could we want?! Sam’s signature of prying open seemingly invulnerable male characters for us to delve into and fall in love with continues. Don’t ask me to choose one though. because that’s just not possible. Though I WILL always confess to being a sucker for the Wolves, and Jai and Caleb aren’t going to disappoint.

Shannon continues to grow into her strength and unique abilities, and I truly love where this story starts taking us where she’s concerned. And again in signature Sam style, I love watching her understanding and capacity to see each prospective member of her pack grow, to see her love them all for such different qualities.

Brilliant as I’d expect, it’s a bloody cracking tale, I’m going to be waiting on tenders for the last magical instalment.

Holy crap I loved this book. I went back and read book 1 so I was intimately familiar with the storyline before I cracked into book 2 and it just reminded me how much I enjoyed the first book. What a freaking emotional roller coaster.

I really enjoy the fact that each character has such a distinctive voice and personality that they sing out at you over the page. So many reverse harems become difficult to follow and you get lost in who said what - but not in the case of this series. Sam Hall does an amazing job in creating so many individuals and having such SIZZLING storylines and sexcapades.

*Spoiler*

I was worried that Kaz and Nero were going to be an echo of the other same sex couples in the author’s other series but I was really pleased that was not the case. They are distinctly different and I enjoyed their journey.

Can’t wait for book 3 as I need to know what’s going to happen next!

Ps I really loved the mega occa aussies thrown in there. The only thing missing was a couple of Flamin mongrels/galahs.

I loooooove this series!
I honestly think I loved this book more than the first! This is the second book in the series, I won’t put too many spoilers, but the relationship between Shannon and her guys is built up beautifully. I was so proud of Zane for stepping up and being the rock that Shannon so desperately needed. He wasn’t my favorite in the first book, like I couldn’t imagine him for someone for me (don’t lie to yourself, we all do this) and I’m honestly so happy with his character development. Kaz and Nero’s relationship with Shannon is something I’ve never seen before in the RH book outside of her works, but I love the dynamic and how they worked out something that works for them and explores their pasts. And Gaden. Oh Gaden. I love him and I love the way he doesn’t want to betray his first mate. Also Jai. Jai is still mine  I didn’t find anything too triggering with this book like I did the first so if you’re on the fence from the first one, read this one! It’s like the happy ending we all want, but it’s not the ending!

At the end of the last book we saw Shannon, Caleb, Kazimir, Nero, Gaden and Zane picked up by Caleb’s father and taken to them to his pack just outside of Yellowstone Park in Wyoming, USA. Caleb’s father is part of the Shifter Council and he is in touch with the Australian Shifters. Jai is being held by the Australian Shifters and they are trying to break his bond with Shannon.
Things don’t work out at Caleb’s father’s pack, so they take off and meet up with some of Caleb’s old buddy’s from his military service days.
They all start trying to work out what happened in the institute, what was done to them. Their relationship as a pride/pack develops.
I like how we get to see the past and find out the corrupt power hungry people/shifters.
They then start their rescue mission to get Jai back.
This book is so well written with such detail, love the suspense and the twists along the way. Need to acknowledge the numerous hot AF steamy scenes - wow!
Can’t wait to read the next book.

The group is trying to recover at Outpost while Shannon comes to terms with the separation from Jai, the idea of her newly formed pack, and her growing family. Meanwhile, the guys are trying to navigate the new dynamics. The existing relationship between Nero and Kaz continues to grow deeper outside of the Institute. At the same time, each of the guys wants to deepen their bond with Shannon while respecting Jai’s absence. With family members dropping in for levity and even more bonding moments, this became an instafavorite. Freeing Jai is the priority with the group, so their family/pack can be the unit they’ve all declared it to be. I loved the secondary characters that were introduced to help in their efforts, and they have a scene that made me laugh so hard... Anyway, Sam always has more tricks up her sleeve and this had an ending I never saw coming! Now I can’t wait for what’s next...

First of all I love a good fat read... this was one of those!
Secondly, this exceeded anything I could have imagined for the continuance of this series. Lots of character growth, relationship growth and even increased action in all forms. This book continues to build an amazing world, and story while still setting the ending up for more adventure and mystery to come. While there was a lot of action in this story I think the key highlight that I loved was the amount of time spent building up the characters and their relationships. Sam Hall made these characters real with real problems and fears and it made it so much easier to connect with the characters and so much easier to love them more. That ending was a fantastic mission that really brought this story together and tied up a ton of loose ends while still building on what we can expect to see next. To me this technically fell within the cliff hanger ending, so readers beware it’ll leave you with a book hangover!

Great series just a little disjointed

I really am enjoying this series, but it isn't actually the easiest to read. I'm not sure if it's the way it's narrated, but it just feels slightly disjointed, which I remember from book 1. I often find myself re-reading some sections to make sense.
That being said, the series is good. Its quite unique, and being Australian myself, I enjoy Sam Hall's aussie reads. There does seem to be some similarities to Sam's Reach for the Moon series. During the scene when they were discussing the moon maiden, I did feel a small sense of dejavu.
So I do have some guesses for the upcoming books. I feel like Mongrel's mob were introduced as potential future members of Shannon's harem. I'm also interested to see how Gaden will overcome his hang-ups. And of course, Shannon's father, we are still yet to learn more about the challenge he will bring to the pride/pack.
Looking forward to book 3.

Wow wow wow.... can’t specify enough on how awesome this book was, the first one Tail Em was also great but as she progresses with the storyline it’s amazing. Lovely way to build the characters even more and building up the fmc without making it obvious or dull. Swept through this read and left me absurdly wanting. There should be a WAP warning for sure as there are steamy scenes in this book that don’t really let up and really I can’t imagine anyone wanting it any differently. If you loved the first book I can only say this one definitely topped the first; I recommend freshening up by reviewing the first book Tail Em as Nail Em picks up rather quickly from the first book. But definitely recommend this to any Paranormal Romance fans as you will be sucked in the storyline quickly and like me be left wanting. Looking forward to Jail Em #3 of the Jail Break series💗💗💗

All of the feels....

The beginning of this book felt like a huge ball of pain - Shannon's suffering and depression front and center. And who could blame her really? She left the love of her life behind in order to protect her future. But Shannon doesn't just have one mate and those with her watch over her. When they finally succeed in getting her out of her cocoon it opens Shannon up to all of her possibilities. She finally starts to see the other men and starts to really develop each relationship. Zane, the angry panther, surprisingly steps up and earns Shannon's love. Then there's Caleb, who I really, really hope can work it out with Jai cause he needs Shannon and she needs him. Then there's Kaz and Nero who worked their issues and are including Shannon into the mix. Gaden, well he needs to really work things out for himself and decide what he wants but I think Shannon letting him be and not forcing anything has helped. Her offer to him I also think turned the tide in her favor. Then there's Jai, a side character in this book. Despite the crappy situation it was needed - how else would he accept Shannon's other mates, her pack? I don't think it would've been so easy if he didn't feel she needed the protection without him by her side.

As per usual Sam Hall has left us with lits of questions- who is Finn? Who was that guy in the end? Will it work out with Caleb and Jai's wolves? Will the Outpost continue to be their haven? What will Gaden decide? And so many more...

As a final note, I loved the incorporation of Celtic mythology. It was unexpected but I thought it brought more to the story.

Nail'em

After doing a reread of the first book in the series, I went into this one with my memory all refreshed. Where Tail'Em was pretty dark, with our beloved characters being in captivity, book 2 takes off where the previous book left off after escaping the institution.
There is more character and relationship development, we meet families and new, intriguing characters and the dark and gritty atmosphere we get in book one gets balanced out with lighter moments.

I love how the author works with subplots in a bigger overarching story. Like the first book, a subplot is resolved in this one, but we are left with more questions and a good hook into the next book. I don't consider the ending of this book a cliffhanger, but it definitely left me thinking and theorising about what will happen next.

This book is 5⭐
The storyline had me hooked.
You have the FMC an animage, with a strong ancestry she is only just discovering... How strong will she become?
She is just getting more badass as the story continues.

You have old corrupt alphas, with a big dash of misogyny that most definitely need to taken down, and Shannon's harem & military contacts are the crew for it.

Shannon's harem are solidfying their connections, & the scenes are amazing. I can't wait for more. Sam writes some of the hottest scenes, and leave me hanging for more.... Will more shifters be added to the harem? I wouldn't say no to adding a few more shifters...

And finally every book Sam writes I learn a new word, which is like a lil easter egg for me.

Minor Spoilers Below

=====================================================================

This is the second book in the Jailbreak series and picks up exactly where book 1 left off. Shannon has escaped from the facility with Jai, Zane, Kazimir, Caleb, and Gaden, but is forced to leave her first love, Jai, behind. Through the course of this book, Shannon builds relationships with all the rest of the men, even a tentative one with Gaden.

I enjoyed this book a lot. The story is engaging and there is enough steam to satisfy the thirstiest reader. I would say that this is a medium to fast burn paranormal reverse harem. I like all of Sam Hall's books, but I really love this series.

Wow. This book was even better than I had hoped it would be. Having loved Tail ‘Em (book 1 in the Jailbreak series), I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Shannon and her harem. As usual, Sam Hall brings together amazing world building with great character depth and growth. Nail ‘Em finds Shannon coming into her powers and growing the connections with the men in her harem to take down the bad guys and take back her first mate who she was separated from. Along the way, she learns there is so much more to her than what she was told growing up. She also learns that there is a bigger battle brewing and this is just the beginning. This series is a must read and I’m impatiently waiting for book 3!!!

Well this series just keeps getting better. Things are seriously starting to get interesting and even more intense in this book. I’m so happy this book picked up right where the previous one left off with the way the previous book ended. I needed to know what would happen next and this book delivered but now I desperately need the next book. I felt all of Shannon’s pain and emotions. The author does a fantastic job bringing the emotions to life for these characters and stories. Shannon learned even more about herself and her powers in this second book. I’m fascinated with the plot development and character development. Also the steam in this story was intense seriously hot hot hot! This series does not disappoint and I can’t wait to see what else is in store with this series.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book series keeps getting better! This book picked up exactly where the last one finished. I could not wait to see what was in store for Shannon and her harem. Nail ‘Em places Shannon coming into her own powers & growing the bond with her pack in order to take down the bad guys and bring back her first mate Jai. During her journey, she learns there is much more to her than what she has been told all her life. There was so much action-packed fun throughout the entire book that held my attention from the start. There was a great relationship build between all the characters that made everything seem more genuine. This series is a must read and I can’t wait for book 3!!
