I read this for my Masters of Education program. It was very informative and I loved how each section, the editors provided background for the different curriculum movements in the 20th century. However, I would’ve liked more background information on each specific reading included. There was also a lot of name dropping in some of the readings of different philosophers or theorists I haven’t heard of and referring to a lot of studies not included. It would’ve been helpful for the editors to Jackie’s their own footnotes to give some scaffolding on those. However, I felt justified in a lot of my more progressive and liberal viewpoints and my philosophy of education as liberation as many of the readings in the book mirrored that stance.
