Sorry I just can't

The blurb was interesting and I found myself wanting to read the book.

With that being said.... I could NOT get past all the slang and the constant use of the word "N!gg@". I'm sorry I just couldn't do it, I wouldn't mind reading a version of the book that didn't have all that crap. I'm not a prude but come on!

Wow

This was a good book I was getting mad at KY but I had to put myself in in shoes and he was doing a lot of mental and physical abuse to her. And I believe the worst abuse is mental don’t get me wrong both is bad but my buses can heal quickly it’s the mental that’s stays with you... Great Job

Heartbreaking

This story just pissed me the f off. I don't like this ending at all. There ain't no way that K'Yonnah should have ended up serving time for defending herself and especially after everything she had dealt with at the hands of stone. I needed to be the judge and the jury bc she wouldn't have served anytime at all.

Please

I hope this ain’t the end of this book and there’s a part two in the making some where. It’s sucks what K’Yonnah had to go through. Stone is cold as hell to kill her whole family. Stones mother is cold too because I believe she killed that baby and he made her do it. For him to parade Fayia around like it ain’t nothing hurt me. I hope there’s a part two with Boss spending up and getting her out of prison.

Great Read

Great Read. I read this book while working. & I can say that was a bad idea. The floodgates was opened since chapter 1. K’yonnah was so much stronger than she gave herself credit for. I was rooting for her the entire book. Stone was a sorry excuse of a man. Pure evil. But he got what was coming to him. Boss was so right for Yonnah I wish we could see more of their love blossom.

Good book

Omg One thing for sure when you are in a domestic violence situation you must have a paper trail that way when you are going to protect yourself from the abuse that you have all rights. This was a very good book is sad because she had to do a time for a man that was abusing her for years and the cops didn’t believe her. There’s a lot of women in prison that’s innocent that took out lies they will be there to protect themselves all they love ones

Underwhelming

I used to love everything from this author but some recent readings just isn’t of the same quality. The concept of this book was good but the plot was poorly developed. Seemed like a rushed piece which is something I never had to experience from this author. Too many unanswered questions, too many scenes that didn’t connect. So much potential but truly disappointing.

Never settle

I chose this title cause so many woman and young ladies let these men constantly abuse and play mind games with them. Every female should know they worth. A man will always be a man you have good ones and bas ones. If you find a good one cherish what you have. A bad one always shows signs when you see that first sign it's not a mistake it's time for you to go because there will differently be a second one. Be like that movie GET OUT!

Stone cold

Well written take on domestic violence and the fall out behind it. The author did a good job of showing how the victim could seem both pathetic and strong while battling their abuser. It’s hard not to judge the victim when really we should harbor all hate towards the abuser.

Heartbreaking

I’m so glad K’Yonna ended up in jail instead of a grave. I wish they would’ve gotten her off. It’s funny how the abusers family and friends can watch you being abused and not do or say a word. Then after you e defended yourself or killed them, they have the nerve to be angry. Mz lady P is amazing at what she does.

A Stone Heart

I'm not finding this story believable. The author introduced an out for Yon - the criminal activity of Stone prior to meeting her, and the investment in her name. Yet she would have the reader believe these avenues couldn't be followed. And were there no hospital records, given the amount of abuse Yon suffered? She just gave up? This book seems unfinished.

What happened?

This story started out so good! The pacing was perfect and the characters buildup was there but then it seems like the author wanted just to end it. Too many holes at the end and how could yonna go to jail when he was abusing her plus there was proof he had murdered her family. Shame

P you did it again!!!🔥🔥🖊🖊

I love they way you told K’Yonnah’s story it was heart felt and it had me on an emotional roller coaster 🎢 because I’ve been in a domestic violence relationship and I suffered in silence for a long time…I gained the courage to leave before I was in a colored jumpsuit…I hope she lets Boss know that she’s pregnant and she gets her happy ending!!!

wow

Now this is a tough read that this man stone started this from the get go. He killed her parents to have control over her and I just know the grandma killed that baby just to get insurance money. Glad they couldn’t get that insurance money. Now let me go cry before I read the next book.

After reading this book, it made me want to pray for all the women and children that suffers at the hands of domestic violence. I’ve never experienced such a thing but I know others and all I can say is get out before you end up like Kiyana. This was a great short story

Thought Provoking!

This novella was raw, thought provoking, and heartbreaking! Makes you think because there was a very powerful message to those who deal with DV… know your worth, report, and keep a paper trail but most of all recognize support that is in front of you. I loved the characters, plot, and twist!

I'm upset!!!!!!!!!! I need to know if there will be a second part!!!! What happens after K'yonnah finishes her time? Who smothered Tiana? What's gonna happen to Stone's uncaring momma and Fayia??? WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WHEN K'YONNAH COMES HOME???

Truths and Conflicts

No woman should suffer things not in Gods plan by the hand of man. Always keep a paper trail and tell someone. I wish we could have forward here 7 years and pray she got out on good time to see her and Boss reunite. Hopefully she signed the bar over so she will have an income when released.

This was a quick read. Emotional read. Domestic violence effects many women and they keep quite. It was sad reading the only way to get away from an abuser is by killing them sometimes. Great read......
