Dark Secrets Unveiled

Rate this book
When Professor David Levinson accepts a friend’s invitation to an old Scottish castle, what he finds there is more fantastical than his most outlandish theories. The castle is home to a clan of immortals, their leader is a stunning demigoddess, and even more shockingly, it might be precisely where he belongs.

Except, the clan founder is hiding a secret that might cast a dark shadow on David’s relationship with her daughter.

Nevertheless, when offered a chance at immortality, he agrees to undergo the dangerous induction process.

Will David survive his transition into immortality? And if he does, will his relationship with Sari survive the unveiling of her mother’s secret?

Transition

Didn't enjoy this book as much as I did Book 44. Too much about reincarnation which I don't believe in. I'm ok with the supernatural aspects, but I was bored with David's transition. Jackie's pregnancy was exciting because of awesome Kalugal. I'm waiting for Annani to get Kiann back. Anyway, hope Book 46 is more interesting.

Dark Secrets Unveiled KU 301 pgs **** 8/20/21 Prof. David & Sari (Scotland)

4 stars. This book was exciting and fun most of the time. I love the reincarnation part and it is very fitting for this series. I am happy the family togetherness continued on in this book however I missed Lokan not being a part of this. Annani did correct my previous vision of her not being all good and mighty, thank goodness. I didn’t want her to be a negative in my mind for the rest of the series. David and Sari are perfect together and I am enjoying their journey together. Kian, Syssi, Kalugal, Jacki, Amanda, Dalhu, Annani and Alena had a great many appearances in this book which I loved. They are the main characters, and I can’t seem to ever get enough of them. This story flowed very well, except for some of Richard’s part which was okay but still a little slower than the rest of the story. More to come, Yay!

Sari and David:

This one was really fun to read. We got to know Annanni early on in the beginning of the series. This book let us see a little bit more of her and how she has raised such phenomenal children who have grown to become successful, caring, pioneering and moral compass for others. Yet they do nothing in the light for all to see.
David was warned he would have more heartache and devastation to overcome. What else must he face before he gets his happily ever after? Hum... is Lisa a dormant? So we’re off back to the states.
Annanni keeps dropping hints about Khiann and his reincarnation. I’m curious as heck when this is going to happen!! Because they still need to have their two children once they find each other. We still have lots of clan members that need mates, plus Kalugal’s men all need mates.

Reincarnated into immortality

While David struggles with his past life he learns that reincarnation does exist. Sari struggles because she believes David is the reincarnation of her mother’s past lover. After awakening from his transition into immortality David is able to reassure everyone that he was not Annani’s past lover. Now the fates have thrown another curveball at the clan, David’s mother and stepfather are missing. Will the clan be able to solve the mystery behind their disappearance. IT Lucas writes yet another riveting story. I love reading the Children of the Gods series.

ENTERTAINING!
David and Sari take their relationship to the next level in this installment of the Children of The Gods series, and Richard and Stella work toward solidifying theirs. Naturally, Ms. Lucas adds a few "surprises" here and there throughout Dark Secrets Unveiled, hence the title - spoiler alert however, all of the secrets are not dark. Fantastic follow-up to Resurgence, David's transition ceremony and his introduction to Ananni. Old questions are answered, new questions are posed, all is revealed.
I received an ARC of this book from the author for an honest and unbiased review.

For some reason I felt this was a super slow read where everything had been repeated in other books and completely bored me. There was no character development of Sari or David making them very 2 dimensional. A disservice was done to Sari who is a strong woman and all of a sudden becomes a blubbering mess. The stories are getting very repetitive and instead of glossing over the retelling of immortals the author takes up a lot of pages on this instead of developing two characters I was excited for.

Another immortal and more questions

While this book wasn’t as captivating as I find most of I. T. Lucas’s books, I still couldn’t put it down. While this book had less action and seemed more of an intermediary chapter I think this book gave important clues about the past and introduced us to Jonah and reincarnation. The ending went out with a bang and I can’t wait for the next chapter.

OMG

After reading this one I galley can't wait to see if Ananni can finally get her story soon. I loved this one. I had been wondering for a while now why Kians other sisters were not getting mates. This book answers that. I don't want to say much more cause I don't want to give anything away. I could read this series forever.
If you haven't read this series, its a must read. You will love it.

Best series I have ever read!!!!!

This is the best series I have ever read. When I started reading there where 50 books and I could not believe someone could weave that long of a story keep my interest. I was wrong the characters carry through out the books as new characters and story lines add to the depth and interest. I love it and as an added bonus 3 more books have been written as I have red the first 45.

David and Sari

I have been following this series since book 1. Loved each story, the characters. David was a new addition to the story. Looking forward to the next book, the introduction of David's family, and the cult victim. Developing Eleanor's character should be promising. Will the Goddess love be brought forth from the earth?

Love this Series

As the time has gone on in this series, the cast of characters that join the story are very diverse and interesting. David just transitioned, and his story and affilation with Annani started centuries ago. I love how these in morals can be so typically mortal In their insecurities and reactions to life and love. I am looking forward to the next book!

I absolutely love this series. This was the first book I had to wait for because I read the rest of them back to back. I find the introduction to reincarnation fascinating. I admire this author's attention to detail and have become very intrigued with the Sumerian Gods, The Fates and immortals in general.

Too long of a Plot

I get that David is a new character, but to drag out the drama of his immortality took away from the book. I still gave this a 5-star because I like the series. Sari's character is a mess and too needy, but that's how some people are in the real world. Hope the next book in the series get to the point.

Simply amazing

I. Never even imagined I would ever read a series this long , but I have. It has been mesmerizing from the start. The subject is varied and well written with a story line that hooks you from the beginning. Keep reading it more than well worth it. Watch the klan grow and evolve.

Sari & David's story continued Bk45

Thank the Fates he's made it through it
But poor buggar must feel he's been given this great reward in one hand n taken away with the other when he wasn't looking.

I hope Sari, Kian and the Clan help find out what has happened to David's mum n stepdad.

Sari and David

This was like reading about a tornado of a relationship. Sari has been alone too long and David seems like he was fine to continue with living as an academic. When Kalugal decides to match make its a whirlwind. Really good

Amazing!

I cannot get enough of these books. I don’t recall ever crying so much while reading a book. Then, I. T. Lucas had me laughing while crying (of course, I can read your mind). I love, love, love this series!!!

Good book

I loved David and Sari story but she worried too much and I didn’t see the need for it. I loved the solution and happy for the outcome, it would have been disturbing otherwise.

As always, the best series ever! The characters, the story, the settings, the ideas are all so well thought out and executed. It is so wonderful to read books from an author who can spell and knows correct grammar.

Best series

I.T. Lucas is my favorite author. I have never stayed interested a series past 7-9 books. With Lucas, each book builds on the last but is fresh and exciting. I truly appreciate that she does not waste time and space with repetitive details.

Always good

I love that the stories of the other characters also progress. I have to admit I just couldn’t warm to Sari though. Being as she is head of the EU clan, she just seemed a bit wimpy to me.

I don’t know how you do it but these books are one of my favorite. You keep the story going and interesting. I think Charles Lawrence is an excellent narrator as well. Love his voice. I can’t wait for the next book.

Love the twist in who was David's prior re-incarnated self. This series never loses it charm. I'm glad I stop reading for a while so that I have three or four to read in a row. There so fun and unique.
