Upon moving to Las Vegas more than twenty years ago, Lynn Rosenberg was immediately struck by the eclectic range of residents she met. Throughout the years, Rosenberg was intrigued by stories of how other people, including many of her colleagues, ended up moving to Las Vegas. She became even more interested in what attracted each person to ultimately put down roots in a rather unique and unexpected setting. "While listening to so many personal anecdotes, I noticed a common sentiment emerge. Every single person I questioned or interviewed said 'I never thought I would live here.' So, I set out to write a book to share their stories with the world," Rosenberg says.

 

In 50 States 50 Stories, Rosenberg has compiled true stories collected over a five year period from people from all 50 U.S. states (and beyond) and from all walks of life who chose to make Las Vegas their home. Rosenberg aims to broaden the way people so often view "Sin City." "For many people, Las Vegas is a place to visit as an adult playground but not a place to call home," she says. "The stories from my book will hopefully change that perception."

Originally from Long Island, New York, I have lived in Las Vegas for over 20 years. When I heard stories about how and why people came to live in Vegas, the tagline were always the same: ..."but I never thought I'd live here." Hence the book. This collection of entries from every state as well as several countries is pleasant and light reading, promising to entertain.

A fun read for anyone thinking of moving to Las Vegas. Get a view of the city from people who relocated from every state in the country. Teachers, artists, doctors, scientists- they all found a new home in Vegas and told their stories— inspiring, poignant, and joyful. Lynn S: Rosenberg does a great job of making their stories personal and entertaining.
