The Alpha and the Fool

Rate this book
Nicole, Nic, was forced to become the son her father, the alpha of the Golden Plains pack, lost when her brother ran away shortly after their mother's death. Nic's worked hard to be one of the boys, her time to take over for her father is coming. Only, he doesn't want to see her lead without a mate. He's ordered her to find one at the annual meeting of alphas in the Blue Crescent territory.

A mate is the last thing Nic needs. Her friend comes up with the plan to find someone willing to be her fake mate to appease her father, leaving her to live and lead how she chooses. Too bad, she happens to run into her true mate at the meeting, and he happens to be nothing more than some silly fool with appalling pickup lines.

I liked this story the best with how it comes full circle and adds a little extra to the original book in the series.
I am so sad that it ends more abruptly than I would have lived it to. I hope the series will eventually continue.

This was probably more of a short story or a novella, but it packed a punch with fewer pages. Assuming this story didn't start it's development earlier in the series, some characters developed better than others, and I feel the author could have made the story a little longer if only to expand on some of the family dynamics and the outcome to the storyline. Some parts felt like the author rushed or was given a word count/page limit. But still a cute story and not your usual werewolf story. It was a nice diversion to have.
