Simply Outstanding--Dr. Lankton does such a great Job of bringing out the Nuances of Dr. Erickson's Strategic approach. For instance, to a Depressed patient, he might have him or her take two 45 minute walks. One in the morning, and one in the afternoon; Noticing the sights, sounds, and smells around them--looking up at the Sky, feeling the warmth of the Sun, This may stimulate an associative inner search, and perhaps allow them to uplift their mood automatically.
This may also form a future habit which may help them to change their mood or state at will
They might also meet new people perhaps a walking partner or friend in the future.
Get the person so busy or divert their attention away from their Depression into new and more satisfying activities,
This may also indirectly communicate "you are lucky to be alive:"
Dr. Erickson was also a master at meeting the patient in their Medium of Communication--Often verbally and non-verbally communicating simultaneously at two different levels.
I am in total awe of Dr. Erickson and his wonderful family...........
