I remember first being introduced to Zig Ziglar during first job in 1994 when the sales mangers loaned me his set of tapes from Nightingale Conant, then later I had the opportunity to hear Zig live at a training conference. Hearing Zig on the tapes or live is a definite treat. This book "Lessons Learned From Zig Ziglar: Life Lessons From Successful Mentors" is really just excerpts and short stories from other books and seminars by Ziglar. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and found myself imitating Ziglar's unique slow twang voice, tone, and inflections. This is a very quick read that is broken down into short lessons and even though at first glance it seems to be focused on sales; these lessons can be applied to everyone. Some of my favorite lessons are: Unfortunately, not everyone realizes that we are all in the field of selling A sense of humor combined with self-esteem that allows you to laugh at yourself will play a significant part in your success in your chosen profession Intense belief in a goal is one of the most powerful forces on earth The 10 guidelines for success Like I said earlier, this is a very short book only 25 pages and I devoured it in less than an hour. I would not only recommend the book; but also do yourself a favor and listen to one of his many seminars on YouTube.
