Discover how keeping secrets from each other threatens four women’s friendships, wedding business, and own ability to find love in Loveland, Colorado.
Business partners Felicity Edwards, the cake baker; Kiki Bell, the seamstress; Cassie Blackthorn, the coordinator; and Chef Saffron Delarosa are best of friends in a town that is a romantic wedding destination for many couples—who work together at Weddings by Design to make every bride’s special day perfect. Could each falling into their own romance be the key to working out their differences and learning to trust each other—and God—with their futures?
A delightful novella collection featuring four friends who run a wedding planning business. This fun read had the feel of a rom-com, with some humor mixed into the romances, but with a bit more spiritual depth. All the stories interconnect and build on each other, so it felt more like a full length novel. The main characters are unique and creative, with a solid friendship. It was fun to "meet" each one and the great guys who stepped up to befriend and aid them in their business. Each story begins with a theme verse and it is incorporated into the character's job or life. I liked them all. I especially enjoyed the last one with the chef. "Taste and see that the Lord is good." Ronnie's dilemma was tough, but Ty's inner dialogue had me laughing out loud more than a few times. "Good thing his mouth was full, or he might make a fool of himself and ask her to marry him."
Fans of contemporary romances with inspiration should enjoy this fun collection.
(An ebook was provided by the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.)
These collaboration stories are so fun! Each author's unique presence makes each of the lead characters even more distinct, as good friends should.
These wedding planners have created quite a business team. Each of these ladies has an obstacle in their way, and are mostly tired of being single. Perfect stage for some personal and spiritual growth, and a sweet romance.
Finally a Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh: Felicity the cake whiz and her (evidently mutual) high school crush are pushed together, and have to learn to communicate the hard things, before they let silence and assumptions ruin everything.
Hemmed In by RL Ashly: Kiki the seamstress is being bullied by the new office manager, raising her niece and nephew alone, and determined not to be distracted by the handsome fireman who also leads music at church. Trusting others is hard, and not wanting to be known as a complainer allows the drama at work to go on way too long. I admired her efforts to get along and not complain, and her creative solutions to the problem, if not direct, were effective! And the kids are Awesome, as is the proposal!
The Worst-Kept Secret by Leeanne Betts: Cassie, the official Wedding Planner, organizer and detail person is definitely someone I can relate to. Organizing lots of details, but wanting to stay completely behind the scenes and far from the 'public eye' can be draining. Especially when someone keeps pushing you out front, over and over again. And losing trust in someone is hard to recover from. But with God, all things are possible! Even learning apologize, and to trust again, when misconceptions are cleared up.
Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer: Appropriately, our Chef, Ronnie (Saffron)'s favorite verse is "Taste and See that the Lord is Good." But all of her insecurities and fears rise up when she loses her sense of smell due to an infection. The cowboy repairman hired to fix a leak becomes indispensable, on so many levels.
Thank you all for writing fun stories that point us to God in the hard parts.
I received an advance copy of this book from #NetGalley, and chose to review it here. All thoughts are my own.
All of the characters were well developed and the recurring ones seemed consistent.
The first and last stories were my favorites, but I liked the way the language of the different jobs of the main characters were woven into each of the stories by their respective authors.
My only real complaint is with the office manager. Her behavior was criminal, but simply excused away and forgotten.
I love reading collections of novellas and Always a Wedding Planner has four beautiful stories read for you to read. And since each story is short, you easily read them as your time permits. As the four Brides in this book tell their own story, you will laugh and cry and you follow their stories.
The four stories and their authors are:
Finally a Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh,
Hemmed In by RL Ashley,
The Worst Kept Secret by Leeann Betts
and last but not least,
Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer.
Each author created lovely characters that will quickly warm your hearts. I enjoyed each and every story in this book. In fact I enjoyed the stories so much I found myself backtracking and re-reading parts of the stories. And if you think you can not read a full size book, then Always a Wedding Planner will be perfect for you. If you love weddings and wedding stories, Always a Wedding Planner is your book. Why not run out and get you a copy. Or take off to your computer or phone and order you a copy. You will not be disappointed! I think this would be a perfect book to give those gals in your life getting married.
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
I really enjoyed this collection. The stories were light but well developed. I enjoyed all of them, which doesn’t always happen in a collection like this. This book is well worth the money and time to read!
As a whole: I love how the four friends were all connected, and they were all present in each of the four stories. I thought it was organized very well.
Individually: - Finally a Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh 4/4/21 *** It took me a chapter before I got into this one, but once I did, I enjoyed the light, sweet, romance of two people in their thirties looking for a serious relationship but hampered by their insecurities. I loved that Felicity was terrible at sports – I can so totally relate! Lol! I also loved that not only were they both entrepreneurs but they were both in the creative space with cake decorating and hair design.
I didn't like that the ending chapter before the Epilogue seemed anti-climatic. When Felicity finally shared her secret, there should have been more tension with Will not sure if he could accept it or not or something.
All in all, as much as I love Toni Shiloh's writing, this one was only cute and sweet but not memorable.
- Hemmed In by RI Ashley 4/10/21 **** Loved the hero Bing, and the kids Tressa and Jack, and eventually the heroine Kiki. But the antagonist Camilla was so one-dimensional and only one sentence of an explanation of her irrationality. All in all, cute, though. I would re-read this one.
Favorite quotes: “Work was a balm for the heart and music food for the soul.” (p. 128)
“She couldn't change the woman's narcissistic personality, but she could get creative with her responses to the office manager's demanding ways. Let the games begin.” (p. 186)
- The Worst-Kept Secret by Leeann Betts 4/12/21 **** Cassie's story was really cute but felt a little abruptly short. Personally, the story absolutely needed the Epilogue, which means it wasn't really an epilogue but the last real chapter. Several of the events seemed a bit unbelievable.
But I really loved the other characters, how Kiki and Felicity were consistent from the previous stories. I especially loved how Camilla's “change of heart” was portrayed as not the 180 turn-around I would have assumed at the end of Kiki's story.
- Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer 4/19/21 ***** This was my favorite of them all! I guess they were saving the best for last, though I almost didn't make it there. I loved the characters, the Bible verse woven throughout both obviously and subtly, the meaning of Ronnie's name, the interesting subplot between her and her mom, and the perfect ending tying up everything from before.
The only thing I wished it had was more redemption of Camilla. I don't think she was even mentioned in this one.
Favorite quotes: “Whoa. Hold your horses, Cowboy. No nicknames, thank you very much.” (p. 392-393)
“'Good morning.' No kidding. With her hair twisted up, sunshine in her eyes, and a plate of fresh something-or-other in her hands, he was toast.” (p. 402)
“Eerie, in a way, that both of them had family members who had appreciated the same biblical admonition. Eerie—or a God thing.” (p. 412)
“She did not depend on men for anything. Never had, until now, and she wasn't sure how she felt about that. She was an independent woman who did most things herself, even if it involved power tools. But God had seen fit to let her experience tastelessness. Why? She needed that ability.” (p. 419)
(I received a copy for free from the publisher. I was not compensated for this review. All opinions are my own, as was the decision to write this review.)
Always a Wedding Planner is a cute collection of short stories interwoven as they follow four friends turned business partners in the wedding industry. Felicity bakes and decorates the cakes, Kiki is the seamstress for any dress or veil needs, Cassie basically does all the organizing and figuring out of other wedding details, and Ronnie is the chef. Together, they operate Weddings by Design. But despite all the weddings they attend, will they ever each get their own moment to shine?
Each story is nicely interwoven with the others to the point where you see repeat characters, but each story has its own unique focus and follows the point of view of each of the partners in their own love stories. I could tell the stories were written by different authors as I could sense slightly different writing styles but not in a way that felt super disjointed or jarring. There were some stories that I liked more than others, but overall I really enjoyed the collection. Some of the storylines feel rushed, but considering this is a group of novellas, the stories are short so it's only natural that there isn't as much time to develop the story as a full length novel.
With talk of tasty food and cake, firefighters, cowboys, a hint of enemies to lover storyline, second chances, weddings galore, a character you love to hate, relying on God, and enduring friendship, what's not to love? Also, Always a Wedding Planner has a very simply yet beautiful cover, which certainly helps to tie it all together.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.
These four novellas made a great collection and blended together so well. The four ladies each has a part in their wedding planning business enterprise. They are all sweet romances and each woman has her story to tell. The stories flowed so well together, it actually just seemed like one book. The story was of good friends and some obstacles that sometimes stand in the way. The stories were are sweet and had some humor. The book will draw you in and you will enjoy it.
I received an ebook copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.
Barbour Publishing has put together four charming stories centered on everyone else's happily ever after. Four business partners in Weddings by Design meet their soul mates in these narratives and find their own happily ever afters.
Felicity is the cake baker who bakes dreams for brides. When Olivia's brother accompanies her to the taste testing appointment, Felicity meets the man who has loved her forever. This one was my favorite of the four. There was more character development and more fun involved in the progression of the story.
Kiki is the dress designer whose very position in the business is being sabotaged by her partner's cousin who has been hired as office manager. The office manager has her sights set on a man who has his own sights set on Kiki. This story provided more tension among the characters, but with a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion.
Cassie is the introverted coordinator who needs to hire a limousine service, but has a hard time getting past her impressions of the limo owner/driver to see who he really is. Her cousin/office manager's shenanigans are still not fully dealt with in this one. This was my least favorite of the four.
Ronnie is the caterer who loses her sense of taste and smell because of a sinus infection she contracted during a cruise with her mom. She has to hire a plumber to take care of gas leak in her house and without telling him what she's doing, she enlists his help in tasting her recipes so that she provides good food for the weddings she has on her schedule. The solution to her sinus problems came almost miraculously and that, for me, was the most unsatisfying part of the tale.
Each of these novellas is sweet in its own way and entertains the reader for a while, and provides a brief escape from the duties of real life. This is a four star book.
Barbour Publishing and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
This collection of stories is so cute. I loved the whole idea of four different friends owning a wedding planning company, and each one having different a specialty. Most of these authors I have never read, but they were all a delight to read and now I have new authors to follow. I had many times of laughter and sweet moments of romance. Each of these stories was well developed and connected smoothly. I could really see the friendship between all the ladies. Their individual skills were amazing and some of the stories made my mouth water. If you want to read a fun, delightful, tender, collection of books regarding weddings, then this is the set for you! While reading this collection I started to remember my own wedding and all the fun things that went all in the planning of it. What fun memories! I highly reconned you pick it up and have fun in the world of weddings. I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sweet stories filled with love and faith. Each story shares of obstacles for the characters to overcome. With heartwarming relationships and interesting happenings, every page drew me in and kept me reading. I will read this book again when I need a smile or two. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
A great book of four novellas about four woman who have a wedding planning business. Loved the variety of writing styles that flowed into one whole story. A perfect book for those who love unexpected romance.
A group of friends come together to make dreams come true for others, will they find their own happily ever afters as well?
Finally Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh, is a sweet romance--literally. Felicity Anderson is a baker, and a run in with a former flame leads them to reconnect. Will Davenport has been burned by love before, can Felicity and Will move past what holds them back.
I really liked the characters from the beginning, this is the first story in the book and also introduces the ladies from subsequent stories. I loved the interaction between the characters and the engaging plot.
Hemmed In by R.L. Ashley - Kiki Bell is shocked to walk in one day to find all of her dresses, machines, and designs moved out into the garage by the new office manager of Weddings by Design. Kiki doesn't want to rock the boat so she tries to keep working around the changes, she is already busy caring for her young niece and nephew. When by chance encounter she meets local firefighter Bing Kelly, she brushes it off, but as they keep running into each other their connect becomes to hot to ignore.
My heart went out to the heroine in this story, Kiki really puts up with a lot and I was kinda disappointed in her friends for not picking up on things and standing up for her more. Tressa and Jack are super cute and I love how Bing connects with them right away. A fast paced read, with a humorous plot.
The Worst Kept Secret by Leann Betts -- Cassie Blackthorn is the coordinator of Weddings by Design, meanwhile limo owner Brady is scrambling to remedy his damaged reputation. Can they overcome a series of misunderstandings to find their own happy ending?
Business partners Cassie and Brady have known each other for a long time, through work. My heart when out to Brady who is trying so hard to change the misconceptions that Cassie has of him, though the situations were quite humorous looking back! A cute romance of misunderstandings.
Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer -- When Chef Saffron "Ronnie" Delarosa loses her sense of smell it puts her off her game, and a terrible smell brings her together with cowboy plumber Ty.
A cute story, and one of my favorites. I loved the interaction between Ty and Ronnie, as well as his adorable dogs.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable collection about a group of friends are they work together to make wedding dreams come true, while also finding loves of their own. Engaging read fill with great characters, romance, and faith.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Overall I thought this was a great collection of novellas. The concept of having four friends run a wedding planning business together felt original. Since this book was written by four different authors, I do feel like the authors did a good job of keeping the characters consistent. While certain novellas found in collections could be read separately, I do feel like these four might even work better together. Rating on how the collection worked together: 4.5 stars Here are my thoughts on each of the books.
"Finally a Sweetheart" by Toni Shiloh Felicity is the baker. She reconnects with a longtime friend, Will. Although they start to date, their outings are not without mishaps. But I think that adds to their appeal. Felicity also has a complicated relationship with her family. Communication struggles add difficulties to both sets of relationships Occasionally I did wonder why it took so long for her to tell the truth. But for a novella, I felt this had a more developed plot. This felt like a substantial story. My rating for this: 4.8 stars.
"Hemmed In" by RL Ashly. First of all, I love how the author connects this title to a Bible verse. Kiki takes over the care of her niece and nephew once their parents die. I find her commitment to the them and to restoring their property admirable. I also really liked how Bing was intentional about pursuing her and supporting her. But there is a difficult character who takes over the storyline. She needs a talking to and to be held accountable to her actions. Instead the characters decide to prank her and distract her. This felt passive aggressive to me and took away from the storyline. I struggled with enjoying the really great parts of the storyline because this obnoxious character was never really reined in. My rating for this one: 3.7 stars
"The Worst-Kept Secret" by Leeann Betts. Cassie, the main character, is rather opinionated on her expectations of people. Brady is not who he seems at first. The bulk of this novel is spent with them misunderstanding each other. Very little time is spent on the romance part - that really only happens in the last few chapters. This title almost needed to be longer to explore more of the couple side. I did really like who Brady was about. Cassie was a bit more gruff, so I did not feel as drawn to her character. Overall a good book as long as one was not expecting romantic gestures. My rating: 3.9 stars.
"Taste and See" by Davalynn Spencer This one starts with a major problem that Ronnie did not know how to solve. Thankfully one her friends knew a guy who stepped in to help. Ty is definitely a great hero - strong and steady and willing to help. As I enjoy cooking, I appreciated this chef. I also liked the fact that she learned to rely on asking others for help. The issue that she has was a clever one. This title connected most strongly to its theme verse, "Taste and See that the Lord is good." I felt like the relationship was developed well. My rating for this one: 4.8 stars.
Final rating for the collection and all of the novellas: 4.3 Note: I did read a copy of this collection through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Sharing a common theme of secrets and trust, these four authors have written a fun collection of stories. The stories revolve around a wedding business with each partner having a different specialty. As with most collections I've read with multiple authors, I enjoyed some of the stories more than the others. But if you notice the five stars I gave the collection, the ones I liked, I loved!
Let me tell you about Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer. This story was everything I've come to expect from her. The writing was top-notch with intriguing characters, lovely descriptions, a plot that moved along at the perfect pace, and it felt, for lack of a better word, substantial. This story alone is worth the price of the collection!
I enjoyed the fact that many of the characters were a little older than we often see in Christian Romance, being in their mid to late thirties. This seemed appropriate; after all, for a woman in her twenties to feel like she is "never a bride" would be a little silly, right?
Each of the stories had a faith message and had the characters searching their hearts and drawing closer to the Lord.
I will mention that a "resolution" to a conflict in one of the stories simply made my blood boil! The story was cute but the problem was much worse, in my opinion, than how it was treated and I felt that making light of what happened was wrong.
If you enjoy Christian romances, I recommend Always a Wedding Planner.
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
I only read one of the novellas in the collection, but I look forward to reading the others at another time.
I had a bit of time and nothing to do at the moment and I realized that I had this novella collection after getting a paperback of it from one of the authors, since I only had about 30 minutes, I chose to read the story about Cassie Blackthorn.
I tend to dislike misunderstanding tropes in romance, and I didn't love the misunderstanding, but the story was cute with a good faith base so in the end it was an enjoyable little read.
I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Love and secret usually don't really go well. But love covers a multitude of offenses.
Wedding stories are always a delight and this was not an exception with all the flair that comes with planning the ceremony. I loved the cake tasting best. I loved that the four friends owned their own business and had their own niche in wedding planning. It was beautiful.
It was admirable to read about the journey of growth taken by the characters that made them better versions of themselves in love and life.
The settings was swoon worthy. Who doesn't love a wedding destination. Lol!
Love, weddings, second chances, forgiveness, was written about amazingly in this book.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
This compilation of novellas is fun, warm, and a great summer read.
Each story has strong characters who are overcoming obstacles that life throws at them. Friends with warm relationships who support each other make these stories heartwarming. I loved the sense of community in each one of these.
I enjoyed the concept of friends working together, each with their speciality. Of course we find romance in each story because what’s a wedding anthology without romance? I enjoyed a couple stories more than others but all in all it’s a really cute and I recommend it for those who enjoy contemporary romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
What a grand collection of stories! Four partners (and long time friends) in a wedding planning business. Four women who have worked so hard at making weddings beautiful and memorable for their clients. And now, it's their turn. Each of their stories is a delightful tale of finding love when they least expect it, and of the adventure along the way. Four sweet and inspirational stories whose varied personalities match the partners themselves. Might be my favorite collection yet! Two stories from already favorite authors, and two new authors whose books I look forward to reading in the future.
Always a Wedding Planner is a great book about four best friends that have their own story to tell. These stories include: Finally a Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh Hemmed In by RL Ashly The Worst Kept Secret by Leeann Betts Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer I enjoyed Felicity, Kiki, Cassie and Ronnie so much. Their stories were so fun, entertaining and delightful to read. I loved every single page of this book.
I am giving Always a Wedding Planner a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean romance stories. I will be looking forward to reading more full length novels by each of these authors in the future. This one by the four was great.
I received a paperback copy of Always a Wedding Planner from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
This is a delightful collection of four novellas about four single friends who run a wedding planner business. They all feel that they are “always the wedding planner and never the bride”, but we see how their lives change.
This group of authors did a wonderful job keeping the book consistent with each one emphasizing one of the girls, her struggles, and ending with an epilogue, allowing a look into the future life they have achieved.
I enjoyed this book very much and highly recommend it as it is a quick, sweet read.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Barbour Publishing and NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
I so enjoyed this story! The main characters were utterly charming, and I loved that they had known each other as teens and then reconnect after not having seen each other for a number of years! It was so fun that these four best friends run a wedding planning business together, each of the ladies had a unique personality and wedding planning specialty and they meshed so well together! I loved getting to learn about the heroine's profession, the art of crafting wedding cakes, absolutely fascinating! Finally a Sweetheart was such a fun read and I so enjoyed every minute I spent reading it! Highly recommended!
I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. My review was not influenced in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
A well written collection of novellas. The stories all tied together perfectly. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
Always a Wedding Planner is a sweet and heartwarming collection of four novellas that revolves around a group of best friends who own a wedding planning business. Each lady has been down on her luck when it comes to finding her Mr. Right, and each will learn that God's plan is often not what we expect, and sometimes we find love in the most unusual places.
I really enjoyed this collection, and loved how it focused on the importance of faith, family and friendship. Each story was a lovely little treat, although I personally loved the first and the fourth stories the most. The first really touched my heart as it dives into the topics of infertility and feeling inferior in a relationship, and I thought the author did a fantastic job of representing these issues authentically and intimately to the reader.
I loved the way all four stories tied together to showcase the bigger picture, and I found myself breezing through this collection pretty quick. It was clean, sweet and swoon worthy, and exactly the type of read I generally look for during the spring and summer months.
Final Rating: 4/5.
I definitely recommend this adorable collection, and I was really impressed with how well developed each of the stories was for the word count each author had to work with!
Thanks so much to Barbour Publishing for allowing me to advance read and review this!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
4.5 stars LOVED: Finally a Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh and Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer. Both were skillfully written and felt like complete stories with perfect pacing, tension, and character growth. This isn't easy to do in a novella, but they both did it perfectly. I'd read these two stories again in a heartbeat as well as check out their backlists. 3.5 stars LIKED: The Worst-Kept Secret by Leann Betts. Cute story, though to me the romance fell a little flat and the pacing was a bit off. I'm not a fan of characters who hold tight to their assumptions, so maybe it was just me. 2.5 stars Not so much: Hemmed In by RL Ashly. I really had a hard time with this one. The "villain" was erratic and over-the-top but not in a funny way and the final reasoning behind it didn't fit. Also the romance didn't feel very romantic. I had a tough time buying into any of it, especially since the other tales clearly note how long planning and executing events takes, but in this one they pull off a miracle in two weeks including her hand sewing a wedding gown, veil, and bridesmaids dresses from scratch. Not remotely realistic. Highs: The bookend stories, as noted above. Four friends who work together in the wedding industry was a fun concept. Lows: Continuity issues between the books could be improved. Bottom line: 3/4 good stories isn't a bad number. I'd definitely buy it for Ms. Shiloh's and Ms. Spencer's books alone.
Always A Wedding Planner is a collection of four contemporary novellas, each written by a different author. Each novella features the love story of one woman in a tight-knit group of friends and wedding planners.
The first story, Finally A Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh, was definitely my favourite. A talented baker, Felicity, is surprised when her high-school crush arrives for a cake tasting/designing appointment. She's relieved when she learns that Will is the bride's brother, not the groom, but how exactly is a girl supposed to act around the guy who stole her heart so long ago yet never seemed to realize she existed...until now? Will and Felicity's story was super cute.
Novella number two, Hemmed In by RH Ashly tells the tale of wedding dress designer, Kiki. Kiki has had custody of her niece and nephew, Tressa and Jack, since their parents died. When she meets a handsome fireman named Bing, she finally starts to think there might be more to her story than just sewing and raising teenagers. Until Camilla enters the picture, that is. Unfortunately, this story missed the mark for me. I struggled to believe that anyone would allow someone to push boundaries as far as Camilla did. Both Bing and Kiki really needed to stand up to her bullying and ridiculous behaviour long before they let it go as far as it did. I also struggled to get past the many idioms that the author used in what seemed like every sentence. Aside from those issues, I thought Bing and Kiki's relationship was sweet and I loved the kids.
The third story is The Worst-Kept Secret by Leeann Betts. Wedding coordinator Cassie needs to hire a limousine service, but she's struggling to get past what she believes about the driver, Brady. If the rumours are true, she wants to stay as far away from him as possible. This was a sweet story of learning to never judge a book by its cover and that gossip should never be taken as truth. I really appreciated Brady's strong faith throughout the novella.
The final novella was Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer. Saffron, aka Ronnie, is an extremely talented chef, but when she mysteriously loses her ability to smell and taste, she wonders if that part of her life is gone forever. Enter Ty, the handsome (and handy) cowboy. Could he be the solution to all of Ronnie's problems? Can she trust him with her biggest secret? I quite enjoyed this one. The cheesiness was definitely there but it was still a fun read.
If you like contemporary romance with a good dose of cheesiness, you'll likely enjoy the stories in this collection.

ALWAYS A WEDDING PLANNER Finally a Sweetheart by Toni Shiloh Hemmed In by RL Ashley The Worst-Kept Secret by Leeann Betts Taste and See by Davalynn Spencer
This joint effort follows four modern women, a baker, a seamstress, an events planner, and a chef, who met at church and decided to combine all of their skills and start a wedding planning business. Each story depicts one of the ladies and incorporates their struggles in life and love with their faith and the love of an honorable man.
FINALLY A SWEETHEART by Toni Shiloh, Felicity, the baker of amazing wedding cakes, and Will, the barber.
HEMMED IN by RL Ashley Kiki, the seamstress, and Bing the Fireman, and unfortunately, Camilla the new office manager. Camilla was awful and the conclusion of her story was not believable.
In THE WORST KEPT SECRET by Leeann Betts, Cassie the events coordinator, and Brady, a limo driver.
In TASTE AND SEE by Davalynn Spencer, Ronnie, the chef, and Ty, the cowboy, and handyman.
In conclusion, I liked how the stories flowed from one, right into the next one. I think the book would have been better if Camilla was not in it, at all.
It is with great appreciation to #davalynnspencer @davalynnspencer #barbourpublishing #netgalley for the complimentary copy of #alwaysaweddingplanner I was under no obligation to post a review.
This novella follows four friends on their journey from their business and also with finding love. Each story different and unique in its own way. I enjoyed getting to know these four friends and all they did as part of their business but I also enjoyed seeing them fall in love, learning to let go, to adjust to different situations and letting those experiences shape them for the better. I love that they didn't let secrets keep them from finding happiness but worked at being better for it. This is an awesome collection that would be the delight of any reader of romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Celebrate Lit. All opinions expressed are solely mine.
