Slateview Public High is no place for a girl like me.

My whole life, I’ve been groomed as American royalty, raised to be the perfect daughter of the wealthy elite.

On my sixteenth birthday, my father bought me an Aston Martin.

And on my seventeenth birthday, the Feds took everything away.

With my father in prison for fraud and nothing left to our name, my mom and I are forced to move to a tiny house across town, and I transfer to Slateview Public.

The only problem is, nearly everyone at my new school has reason to despise my family name. They want to see a princess brought low, and they’ll do whatever it takes to make me fall.

Money was the language of my old world, but violence is the language of my new one. The only way I’ll survive until graduation is to make a deal with three gorgeous, dangerous devils—the ones everyone calls the Lost Boys.

If I accept their bargain, Bishop, Misael, and Kace will protect me.

But they’ll own me too.

This is the first book in the Crazy Vicious Love series, a reverse harem bully romance. It contains mature themes and is intended for readers 18+.

Another terrific bully romance! But there are no rich bullies here.

I really like when they combine the bully romance with the reverse harem trope even though is is a bit 0ut there to think that a Virgin in high school or even a girl who has had a boyfriend or two before is suddenly ready to handle a polyamorous relationship and all that comes with it. I mean I can’t imagine the slut shaming that would occur between high school girls in case like this even if the guys she is with are the ones that “run the school” like the lost boys do in this book. They certainly aren’t with her all the time.

But that is beside the point because this is all fake so I can just enjoy it as is. This book was a bit different than a lot of the books I have read where the girl suddenly is in a rich neighborhood or school and she is either on scholarship or has moved in with family that is rich and is bullied by the rich kids who think she doesn’t belong.

In this case Cordelia (Cora) is from the wealthy side of the tracks and she is one of the wealthiest. She has no idea how the other half lives but her life is not perfect either, though she really doesn’t realize how imperfect it is until things change. Her father is arrested for fraud, the FBI seizes most of their possessions and Cora and her mother are forced to moved to a two bedroom rental on the other side of the tracks.

She lives across the street from three very hot guys who live in separate houses all next to each other but the three guys are always together and act like brothers and stare at her like they know her. The first day of her senior year at the public high school Cora finds out that everyone in the high school hates her because of business deals her father made which basically made a lot of people lose their homes and businesses. They call her names, push and shove her and basically hassle her non stop.

She also finds out that even the teachers and administration won’t step in and help her while the other student curse at her and call her a slut right in front of them. She finds out that “The Lost Boys” run the school and they are the three guys that live across the street from her. They are called that because none of them have parents, they all live with foster families.

There were a few things about this story I didn’t understand, like the fact that the lost boys seemed to be as mad about what Cora’s father did as the rest of the school and just as willing to take it out on her. They even said when they made the deal with her that they would protect her from the rest of the school but they would punish her. But then they never do. They just take her to parties and kiss her. But I did really like the story and I will read on. That is not enough for me to lower my rating.

I am actually pretty damn impressed with this book.

So if you've been following my reviews for any length of time, you'll know that I'm never afraid to take a chance on debut authors. On the flip side, my standards are high and I am VERY detailed if I dislike it.

I'm pleased to announce that, with two key exceptions, I had almost no issue with this entire book. It's well-written, has been well-edited, and the bullying is essentially nonexistent. The heroes never hurt the heroine; they make a deal with her where they 'own' her in exchange for their protection. After she agrees nobody else hurts the heroine either. Friends like Gimme, rejoice: there is NO OW/OM drama whatsoever, it's totally safe and I appreciated that so much.

The heroine is an interesting one. Some people may not like her, because she isn't the stereotypically 'feisty', aggressive, violent kind of heroine. She's quiet, and slightly submissive towards the heroes (which I didn't mind because they weren't arseholes). If you've read the Saving Setora series by Raven Dark and Petra J. Knox, Setora is the closest comparison as to what type of heroine Cora is. I wouldn't call her weak, just wired differently from the sort of heroines who beat up people in school.

However, one problem I have is that Cora made an incredibly TSTL decision at the end of the book. I understand she's lived quite a sheltered life and was distracted by hope she'd receive answers, but the action she committed is something genuinely just unbelievably dumb.

My other problem is that not all of the heroes felt equally fleshed out. At the beginning especially, it seemed like Bishop (they call him 'Bish' which I LOATHE because it feels like 'bitch') was the main one in the relationship, and I worried this wasn't a true reverse harem. I no longer have that worry but I'd certainly enjoy seeing the other two heroes get more of the limelight in the sequel.

Speaking of the sequel, I cannot wait to read it! I hope the author continues the habit from this book of not having any OW-related relationship drama, because the strength of the connection between the heroine and heroes is really what made this book awesome.

Incredible. Absolutely loved it! You get sucked in so very quickly. I literally did not even realize I was 88% through it before taking a break to grab a protein bar then went right back to it and once it was over I went straight to book 2 and just took my short break! It's really incredible as well. You just don't want to stop. I bet I will get zero sleep tonight and I'm soo OK with that!!

I love reverse harem but I absolutely hate it, hate hate hate it when authors force it to be rh. Like if you cant make the female character love all the guys, or have a bond with the same intensity like she has with one of them then dont write rh. This book is about Cora who is a rich girl but her dad gets arrested and she goes poor so she has to go to public school where she meets the 3 lost boys. They own the school so they own her. Blah blah they fall in love and turns out the guys work for a gang. Same old bullshit like The angels by Ruby Vincent, Sainthood series by Siobhan davis, which is why this is not that interesting. It was going okay, cora is naive and mary sue type of girl..she was okayish..kinda boring if u ask me. But, what annoyed me was that she had more chemistry, bonding and attraction towards Bishop aka Bish and idk why the author thought it was a great nickname for a arrogant bully dude cuz it sounds like ppl are calling him a bitch. That was cringe. Anyway, she had that all with Bitch ... sorry i mean Bish, but her relationship with the other two seemed so fucking forced i wanted to yell STOPPP! Ugh i mean there was only lust between the other two and cora while it felt like Bish is the only hero of the book since he also had more scenes with her. I wont read the second book, this one was annoying

I’ve never heard of a reverse harem book until probably last year, so I don’t even know what is considered good or bad in this area. I honestly don’t even know if I have read it before or not. Love the idea though.

This story was half annoying and half good. I am SO conflicted on if I even like the book. Here’s why:

Cora: She’s a stupid little girl. She keeps on saying she’s smart but she’s actually really stupid and just for that alone, I find her rambling just none sense, cause it’s not like she’s going understand what’s going on until last minute in the first place!

The stereotypes represented in this book was terrible.

Like, this is in the 21st century right? So if she is apart of the exact same generation that has a term like “to chill” why does she not know what “chilling” is? Why does she have to be a so-called “rich bitch” to not understand basic social normalities within her own generation no matter where she comes from?

Also, she always mentioned the boys as Lost Boys, and I kinda hated that. Like she could’ve graduated to just saying “the boys” or even throw in a possessive name like “my guys.” Literally anything other than a name that doesn’t seem like teenagers in jacked up life situations would even care to coin. I get why it’s the name, but to hear “lost boys” here and LBs there. It’s annoying. Like it could’ve been a great character and relationship development if the author had Cora grow with them including the name she calls them just as they did with her, ending her name change to Coralee. It’s cute. She just got on my nerves.

Here’s what saved the story:

The boys actually were great. I loved the dynamic between them and gotta say, I don’t mind the situation they got going on here. Each intimate situation they had with Cora was done well. They even had development that made sense and I loved it.

Why the author didn’t make her actual main character develop in a way that was, idk, good? I. Don’t. Know. Honestly, switch POVs at this point, damn. Can you tell I’m annoyed?

Overall, this was a solid 3.0 star rating. It’s a bummer because this could’ve been SUCH AN AMAZING BOOK. Like, you don’t know how bummed out I am over this. So bummed. This was a quick one night read for me so I’m just gonna read the next one cause Kace, Bishop, Miscael (still don’t know how to say his name lol I’m going with a “Michell” type of sound)

Buddy read with Artalee!! Sorry girl, I finished quicker than I anticipated haha

Maybe 2.5? However, I didn't like it.

Too similar guys? ✔️ I'd prefer more characterization.
TSTL heroine? ✔️ The ending annoyed the crap out of me.

( Second buddy read with Briana  )
I don’t really know where to begin with this book. I felt like it had the potential to be a really good story…but it seemed like the author didn’t really know how to form it. Was this worst book I have ever read, no. Was it the best book I have ever read, also no. The writing wasn’t poor, and I kept reading, so that says something.

Cora was this rich girl who lost basically everything when her father went to prison. I found her transition from “riches to rags” too easy for her. She struggled for like two days and I don’t really think those first days were that bad considering how angry people seemed to be with her because of her father. It just didn’t really make sense to me.

I also thought her relationship with her parents were confusing. Like do you like them or not? Do you care about them or not? Yeah, I get it, you want your mom to focus on you yada yada yada, but when your mom probably actually need you…did you care? Nah.

Also, reading about polyamorous relationships was new to me. I wasn’t expecting that until I put the book down to look up who she was supposed to be with until I read in one review that she was with all of them. Oh. I guess I don’t have to cheer for one dude anymore. I don’t really think it’s my thing, but it didn’t ruin the story for me. Kace is my fave though, just throwing that out there. The ending of book just annoyed me because I feel like she’s trying to prove her father is innocent, why not just go to your three lovers and ask them?! See what they can find out? Why go to someone you don’t know? Idk. One of the reasons she’s dumb.

Another thing that annoyed me is that she doesn’t talk or really think how a regular teenager does. How do you not know what chill is? Use context clues, you don’t have to ask…I would have been embarrassed for her if I wasn’t so busy rolling my eyes.

I’ll read the second book and if it’s better or the same as the first book, I’ll probably read the third. I just hope with the next book I feel more of a connection between Cora and her guys. Other than her looking at the boys and feeling attraction and their intimate scenes, I didn’t feel any chemistry. Yeah they took her in and will like protect her…but I didn’t feel anything from that.

Book: Lost Boys
Author: Eva Ashwood
Recommend: Yes
Spice: 🌶️️ 🌶️️ 🌶️️
Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years

My feelings:

This is a young adult book about a young girl who at the age of 17 find herself going to a new “free” school after her wealthy father was placed in prison for money fraud.

“My name’s Bishop. Bish to my friends, which you are not. Then Misael”—he nodded to the dark-haired Latino boy—“and Kace,” he said of the blonde. “We call him Reaper. I don’t think I need to explain why.”

Unfortunately for her the school and placed her mother and herself had to move to was effected by her fathers business. People had lost there homes and business from him buying up properties and tossing them all out, and turn them all into lucrative business for the wealthy.

Everyone in the vicinity was watching me, and everyone seemed to have gotten the memo already: the Lost Boys had an indisputable claim on me.

All the students at her new school know who she is.

“It was… a good day with you.” I could have sworn he said it softly, like he actually meant it.

Including the 3 “Lost Boys” Bishop, Kase and Misael, who I feel didnt really bully her very much. I felt like the other student bullied her a lot more then they ever did. They mainly protected her, and clearly fell for her very quickly.

“Because one of us is going to take your virginity, and I don’t want to make you choose who. I don’t want you to know who. Because you belong to all of us. It’s not about who claims you first.”

There is a few spicy chapters but not as much as I would have liked. Very young adult based spice, still enjoyable but aimed at a more younger adult audience.

“I made you come, Princess. Now you’re gonna suck my dick until I come.”

I loved how meek and naive Cordelia was made out to be. With her lack of knowledge of the “poorer side of life” and of how others lived. I love how it shows her a side her family kept her from, and how she managed to teach herself to cook, clean, walk to school, drive not flashy cars, and eat regular cafeteria food.

I loved when she claimed the boys as hers, and then at then end when Kase claims her as theirs! What a cliffhanger!

Normally these books have the main protagonist going from rags to riches. So, it made a nice change to have it the other way around. Unfortunately, I didn't really like this book. I've read much better in the same genre. I found Cora to be quite a weak character. And there were some very unbelievable things; for instance, someone overdosed on pills and nearly died, so they pumped the stomach and sent the person home the next day without any supervision or anything.
Sadly, none of the guys really caught my fancy either. But, the cliffhanger ending was good. So, I'm hoping that the next book in the series is better.

Loved this one again though I found that this time I liked Bish a little more than Kase. He is actually pretty sweet to her and flirts more than I'd realized.
It's easy to see why Cora would be inclined to believe her father. While he doesn't come off as especially affectionate, he does seem to dote on her a lot. I think her mother's OD eas an eye opener for the guys about what her life was really like compared to the image they had and what is going on with her now. It actually brought them together. I'm so glad that Cora put her mother in her place about how she talked to Bishop considering he was the one who saved her life.
This definitely left off with a cliff hanger and I'm always glad it was Kase who shot him. They call him reaper for reason.

-----
Found this one on BookTok and I'm pretty glad.

There was nothing spectacular about the writing itself - mind you, I've been reading high fantasy for a while now, so there is an adjustment period.
However, I really did fall in love with these boys while Cordelia did. Of course, given the subject matter, I had to keep reminding myself of their ages otherwise eek. Kase is by far my favorite, followed by Bish, with Misael coming in last, though there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. He's actually probably the nicest. The others just came off a little more complex to me. Kase surprisingly the most, because Cordelia really had to dig to get anything out of him.
This is also the first book I've read where this demographic is being used for these sorts of jobs so that took a minute to process. It was also why I kept wanting to think of them as older. I really like how Cordelia was able to let go of her judgement of them as the story progressed and how she began to see things as more grey instead of just good or bad.

Once upon a time there was a girl from wealth. She had no control over her life and was pretty much her parents puppet.

Now, she has her freedom, but it came with a hefty price.

Her home is now on the wrong side of the tracks and all that she was, she no longer is.

They are the first to lay eyes upon her. A new neighbour, and dangerous new meat at school.

To protect and claim or deny and watch that is the question, but what is the answer?

Wow wow wow!! my heart has well and truly been stolen!

Charming, unpredictable and quiet are they as a combined force, but each and every boy touched me in a different way.

I loved the passion in their words, the protection in their actions and the unspoken promise in the air around them.

Dark and dangerous but loyal and committed heaven in a trio!

Shes an innocent thrust into an unknown environment. Gone are the prim and proper, replaced by the grime and dirt, filth and slop.

I admired her resolve to try and make the best of a bad situation. Her unwavering hope and determination to believe only made my like her more.

My emotions were all over the shop reading this. I got upset, I got angry, I swooned and then I gave in and fell hard for the lost boys.

I've read alot of this trope recently, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the best, and I'm counting down the days until I know more about "Wild Girl" where the story continues.

5 stars for Lost Boys by Eva Ashwood. This is book 1 in the Statview High Series. This is my first book by Ashwood but I can tell you she has made a fan out of me. Cora’s life has been turned upside down. She has gone from being the rich girl to now being the poor who’s dad is in jail for fraud. She is now having to attend Slateview Public. Her start here is not what she expected. Everyone hates her because of things her dad did. Then she meets the lost boys Bishop, Misael and Kace. She hates all three of them but is attracted to all three of them. They take her under their protection. Slowly their relationship begins to change. Then Bam cliffhanger. I Love Coralee’s character, she is not going to let anyone walk all over her. She might be afraid but she still stands her ground. I am loving this book and can not wait to read Wild Girl.
Genre- Romantic Suspense /Bully Romance

HEA- Not yet
Cliffhanger – Yes and it is a doozie

Good read

Nice read, not quite light but definitely not heavy in the bully department. It was a tad bizarre for a slight bully romance, because I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I was pleasantly surprised that thr guys didn't torment the FMC before hinting at their true feelings. I would have liked to see more of the relationship building between everyone. I think it would have made her feelings a tad more credible. The book just summed it up, oh she had known them for 3months or so. Also another reviewer hit the main issue on the head- Cora's transition from riches to poverty appeared too easy. Minus the first 2 days of school she didn't go through much. Her mom had depression and a suicidal moment. Cora just took everything in stride. I'm even surprised Ava didn't turn back up. Overall decent read just a few plot holes that I hope the next book will address.

REVIEW
Cora (Cordelia) is an elitist, he family are THE family. Until her father is arrested on grounds of fraud felony. Her life is switched within a week, from the lavish mansion, private school and designer wardrobe, to a two bedroom house on the wrong side of town, and a public school where her wardrobe hinders rather than enhances. Due to her fathers business dealings, she is HATED at her new school, not least by "The Lost Boys - they rule the school and those in it. Cora is offered an out... they will offer her protection from the students - but she is theirs to do as they please, punishment or otherwise.
Fantastic read, light on the bully factors but the threat was there. There are scenes of light sexual assault in the story but could be a trigger for some. I absolutely loved the writing style, all from Coras POV, made it harder and more suspenseful to know what the boys were thinking and what happens in the parts we dont get to see but are mentioned. Bishop, Kace and Misael are awesome - protector, passionate and dark - all yumminess. There are so so many questions left unanswered and I cant wait to find out more...I wonder if Barrett will come into it? 5*

New author for me and I'm a sucker for RH so I was like why the neck not?
Pros: Reverse Harem; I think sticking to three dudes is perfect. I can remember their personalities and keep up with the scenes that already have four people in it most the time.
I like that our h, Cora, had a backbone but was still naive due to her upbringing.
The author's writing style was on point. No overused words and it was easy to follow.
The cliffhanger - damn. That's all I'm going to say.
Cons:
Fluffy and being super telly. I found myself page-flipping from time to time. It was information overload sometimes and it does take much for my index finger to flip if we're two to three pages of "explaining" things. If it was separated than it may have been better.
My favorite is Kace 💙
Let's see if he stays that way. I have a feeling that I'm going to feel a certain type of way after book two.

Meh.

So, Cora's dad gets arrested for fraud and she and her mother have to move from their mansion to a 2 bedroom on the 'wrong side of the tracks'. Her neighbors are the Lost Boys (the "kings" of Slateview High). She starts school with the intention of keeping her head down and just getting through her senior year, but when she arrives, she quickly realizes that that isn't going to be how her year pans out. Everyone hates her because her father allegedly is to blame for people losing homes/businesses/jobs and they are taking it out on her. The Lost Boys decide that they are going to make her theirs and therefore make it so they are the only ones who can punish her for whatever they all are accusing her father of.

The premise was interesting enough, however, the book kind of fell through. The bullying wasn't too bad and didn't really last more than a few chapters. After being claimed by the Lost Boys, everyone leaves her alone, but the guys (Bish, Misael, and Kace) don't really do any bullying. They make her go with them places whether she wants to or not. It was more of insta-love and 'you complete me' than bullying...

Anyhoo. Cora. She was ... inconsistent? One second she's a naive rich girl whose had her life flipped upside down, then the next she is all rebellious and what not, then back to being naive and clueless. I did, however, enjoy her cooking adventures... or disasters.

The guys weren't anything special. They rule the school and there's an instance of them exerting that power, but otherwise it's something we are supposed to just accept without any reasoning. Why (other than they work for some big bad guy) are they feared by everyone? Why does no one question them? Why do the teachers looked the other way? No explanation.

But still, I kept reading. I was mostly curious about whether her dad was guilty or not. Random, I know, but what can I say.

Anyways, at around the 80ish% it lost me altogether. I finished, but only because I had gotten that far, I figured I may as well finish it out, although I mostly skimmed those last few chapters because, gahh, it was boring.

I would recommend to anyone who can suspend reality enough to believe that these three boys have any power at all over an entire school without explanation from the author, a FMC who is attempting to fake it til she makes it, and a plot line that resembles Swiss cheese.

Received this ARC from Author for Honest Review.

I Give this Book a 4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 5.

HEA(?): Not Yet.
Cliffhanger(?): Yes! Great Cliffhanger!

Romance: 2/5 it’s on the low spectrum but it’s kinda-ish there, but this is Book 1 after all.
Drama: 4/5
Suspense: 4.5/5
Heat: 4/5
Mystery Factor: 5/5, What the heck is going on?!!! Lol Awesome!!

I have to give props to Cora, she’s one of the few lead females that’s stands her ground when she’s able to, she doesn’t have a spoiled child’s personality.
She has her own mind and I really like the fact that she’s looking for validation in things and to me she’s also doesn’t appear to be naive.
The Boys, I like them all evenly, and they’re super mysterious. I honestly don’t want to give to much away, So I’ll just leave it as is. Lol

I’m pre-ordering this book immediately, this is a really great read and well written.
The story to me, never dragged once.
I completely recommend this book!
I’m excited to read the next book, really enjoyed the cliffhanger.

Colour me impressed with this one, not your typical RH yay!!! There is hardly any bullying and our heroine ends up with the heroes in return for their protection. Our heroine is from a wealthy family, essentially the spoiled little princess, but when her father is arrested for financial crimes she is thrust into living on the wrong side of the tracks. It is a learning curve, but I felt that she learned a lot about herself and others which only fleshed out this character. She is naive, quiet and a little reserved, not your a-typical RH heroine, but these traits went well with our very ALPHA males.

This RH has a good plot, and while I wanted to batter our heroine at the end for making some stupid, stupid choices, I could understand why she did what she did. I CANNOT wait for the next one.

**** I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy ****

I have no idea where to begin, this book was freaking amazingly awesome. So if you like dark bully reverse hare romance then you need to add this book to your list.

This book has mystery, heat, deep emotions and the right amount of darkness for each character. Cordelia life changes in one day, from being the top/elite to falling all the way to the bottom. She is thrust in another environment that she does not know how to navigate and simply put in her place really quick. She is hated because of her father and she cannot do a thing about it or can she?

This was such an impulse read, I was in the mood for this vibe ~ always love a RH ~ and it was fairly short so match made in heaven really ✨

It’s gotta be 3.5⭐️ overall though. I quite liked the characters, but the spice was giving Nando’s mild lemon and herb compared to what I was expecting, and the plot was pretty familiar in that I was getting deja vu the wholeeee time trying to figure out if I’ve read this before even though I know full well I haven’t 😬

If you’re here for a ‘slow-burn’ or ‘enemies-to-lovers’, keep walking… I saw the attempt at E2Ls but the whole enemy thing lasted about half a second and I never really got the whole hate vibe we love so much!

Overall a quick and entertaining read and I’ll definitely keep reading the series to see if it gets better, so let’s just see shall we 🙈

Ratings:

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5
🌶️🌶️/5 (+ half a chilli for that bit in the bathroom 😏)

I don't know, not bad but I've seen the exact same story done better.

---------------------------------------

After reading book 2: ⭐
First of all this is not a bully romance because there's no bullying whatsoever done by the MMCs. As soon as she arrives at the new school, they offer her protection in exchange for becoming theirs. No mention about what exactly that entails and why would they want her if they hate her so much and her father destroyed their lives? They have sex and all that hate magically disappears in a chapter.

Secondly, the heroine is incredibly stupid, she risks her life and the boys' for a father who never cared about her. She wants to meet gangsters to judge their character and see if they are good people?! She wouldn't stand a chance in the real world and we're supposed to believe she's such a strong badass heroine. 😂

I’ll need time to digest this book before solidifying my opinion and give a proper rating/review.

As a reviewer via Audible, I’d have to say the narrator was great for the most part, but when it came to words like “didn’t” and “couldn’t”, there was an odd pronunciation issue that didn’t necessarily drive me nuts, but would chip away at my attention (I have ADD, don’t judge 😉). The way those words were said (example: “dinnit” and “cunnit”) reminded me of this family that lived across the street from me when growing up, which is an odd realization/thought when the plot is veering sexual. LOL! 👀🤷‍♀️ maybe it’s just me.

This book was so good that I came back months later just to make sure I reviewed. Eva Ashwood is a new author, and good lord did she deliver! For her debut novel in the RH community, she sure brought it in swinging! Not only did she grab me from the very first page, but she KEPT my attention! The characters, the world build, and the transitions were amazing!

I can’t wait to see where she takes this story, she has a long time fan from me!!😍

I had a struggle with this one, and an apparent Amazon glitch didn't help out (for some reason on my K Fire it has random pages missing throughout the book). I didn't feel the characters were very fleshed out and two of the MMC's came across more as an afterthought with little of their own personality. The FMC seemed naive to a ridiculous point which made her hard to connect with. I usually like this author's books but this one was a miss for me.
