Ben has saved the dragonkin women’s island from the ancient, ghostly maldungs, so it’s time for his next adventure. But when he and his crew of women set sail again, they discover the orcs have another enemy. A dangerous, fire-breathing, ship-destroying enemy. And Ben wonders if he can tame it.
A really enjoyable addition to the series, a new island to discover, another type of girl to add to his growing colony of girls without compatible males who are looking for a baby-daddy, and an MC who seems always up for it (pun intended). This tale has a more standard flying fire-breathing dragon to deal with. I find this series just so much of a fun read that I stopped reading other books half way through to be able to read this series. I don't have many series I do that for. A really good read, can't wait for the next one.
It's truly a monster girl paradise within these pages, if you are on the hunt for a great piece of literature with an amazing cast of characters, and epic world building then this is the series for you! Also as the title suggests you are likely to find whatever brand of monster girl that floats your boat here.
Dragons!!! DRAGONS!!!! Oh and raccoon gals, so that’s cool too. Can’t spoil it for you though, it is interesting how the details play out. And that cliffhanger! Now we MUST HAVE the next book to find out what is so important!!!
Light fantasy adult harem It took awhile for it to sink in (four books?) that this light fantasy. The islands are small, yet the wildlife teems, much more than a real ecosystem could support. Major and top predators are encountered often, something impossible for a three by five mile island (though to be fair, Logan Jacobs didn't give the dimensions in this book), and the inhabitants were able to cross its length in under a day. Indeed, half of this tiny island easily supported thirty-four, but previously supported over a hundred. Major ecosystem changes every half mile, with wildlife adapted to that niche. And fireflies give light year round in this world. Like I said, fantasy ecology. I'm thinking the ecology itself is like what you'd get in computer simulations; build a 20-foot by 20-foot farm building and it automatically feeds 10 people, even though a real farm needs scores or even hundreds of acres, and takes a year or more to start producing. Entertaining for what it is, just don't think about things. Ben is brave, but his victories are often luck, and there are copious dead enemies yet few among his allies. Another reviewer complained that while Ben was occupied with the deer women, Mira got no action, yet she loves him and he's told her he loves her, too. I had noticed this, too. In book 4, days passed when Ben slept alone. Then he started breeding two of the deer women while the whole time Mira was ignored. She had asked that they have sex, just not during her fertile time because loved having sex with him. Does he? Nope. Not even cudddle time. Here, in book 5, Ben did his best to get Jemma, a deer woman knocked up, and two raccon women, too. (I think it's required that one of those impregnated be the leader.) But Mira, his traveling companion and trusty warrior who has his back? She sleeps alone - for two books. We did get a closer estimate of the main island's population, and comments that Jonas is"old." I've been of the opinion that Jonas needed to step in because Ben seems to only have sex with women he has a relationship with. Great, if you can do that. But he's the sole male of breeding age for nearly two hundred females. These aren't human women; they are monster women. The dragon-kin women are used to a male that visits solely for breeding and then leaves her to raise the child with the other village women to help; yeah, he might visit, but the dragon-kin birth ratios in book 1 said that most babies are female, and married men were expected to help a woman wanting a baby. With over a hundred dragon-kin women, Ben has bred three, and has bred the leader woman a second time, without selecting any new women to give children to. And except for Jemma, whom he has a relationship with (from the previous book), no other deer women get a baby. No other dragon-kin get a baby either. Yet Ben has promised them they would all get a baby of their own. And he makes the same promise to the Coonag (raccoon women). In a harem series, it's the fact that the women get emotional satisfaction from their alpha male and are friends (and maybe lovers) with the other women. They are willing to share because the payoffs for the women are deemed sufficient to make them happy, and that makes the story about the relationships instead of the women being dehumanized chattel. Yet when you are the sole breeding male in nearly two hundred females, the alpha male needs to be a little more outgoing. Like catching a maid doing laundry or one of the farmer women in the field and giving her a quickie and smile. The women have been clear they want babies, and understand they will do the majority of childcare. Worse, many of them have not only lost husbands, they've lost children, too. In previos reviews, I've been saying that Jonas should have picking up the slack. Females have a set time during their lifespan when they're fertile; and they live a long time once they pass menopause; the biological payoff the help with childcare, teaching, companionship, etc. But they aren't having babies. That's 20-30 fertile years out a 70-90 year lifespan. Males, once mature, can impregnate until they are infirm, and even then, the female superior position can do a lot to overcome that handicap. Doesn't matter if he isn't there to be dad; what matters is that the next generation is ensured. Besides, Jonas siring some babies would strengthen the gene pool by having some non-half siblings available for his children's mates in the next generation. But this light fantasy, and ALL the females are in Ben's harem, and if he just smiles at them while not giving them a baby, they are happy with that. This light fantasy. Fantasy biology and fantasy politics and, well, you get the idea. If you think too hard about it, it falls apart. I prefer real life situations, and poly-relationships can enhance the story. I follow this series now because I'm invested. Half-hearted 4.
A new island and a new group of monster girls plus something a little extra
Book 5 sees Ben and his growing band of women take to the seas and investigating another new island. A new island means a new adventure, a new species of monster girl and something a little extra special to throw into the mix. Lots of actions, some new monsters, more battles with the orcs and more romance just as you would expect of this series. World building is excellent, and so to is the development of the main cast of characters.
I am really enjoying this series. I love the characters and how they grow in each book. This book seemed a bit rushed or possibly incomplete.? I still enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next book but we seem to have found out less about this group then the previous two.
Fantastic!!! Wow, this one had a huge amount of action and some really intense kills! Plus, a whole new group of gals, and these ones stand out quite a bit from the other two groups. I always enjoy the personalities of each of the characters that are introduced, and what each groups cultures and traits will add to Ben's kingdom. As always, I look forward to the next title in this series.
More monster girls fun and new islands. The best part is the slaughter of orcs. This is a fun series and this book continues the adventures in a new island with new raccoon women. There are more challenges here but also new a powerful allies. Lots of fun this series. I await more books
This series is wonderful, imaginative, entertaining, a great read. A little battle, interesting characters, a little loving,. Loved all of them. Hope you write a dozen more.Great work, cannot wait for #5
I would love to be as lucky as Ben is. From almost being drowned, to being a king, and helping to repopulate a new and interesting world.
The story of Ben and his monster girls continue. The story is still good but the formula needs tweaking; new island, new monster girls without any males, monster girls join Ben’s harem, bad guys defeated then overly descriptive sex. I’m going to take a break from this series to explore others, then come back to see how this ends.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. So much happened in such a short time. A new island, and new girls. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging as always. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
Love the cover! Really played up the shiny trope but I was expecting an island that had actually fended off the orcs for once. Oh well still liked it anyway. Looking forward to the next book.
So if you have been keeping up with the series so far, then know that this book is another amazing step in the adventure. Im loving the new ladies and the obsessive personalities
Excellent work can't wait for the next book to come out and see what kind of trouble they will get into and see what kind of new women he will meet and see who else he will get pregnant
Great book. More dead Orc’s. Keep the story alive and growing. More islands to find. More girls? Now a dragon to mess up Orc’s. What could happen next?
I really enjoy this series. It's just the right balance of fantasy, adventure, and sex. I especially appreciate that each island's girls are both physically and emotionally different. Keeps the series fresh. Looking forward to the next one.
I always enjoy reading your books, they are a good mix of catchy story with good descriptions and plot. It also has some romance, but not too much. I look forward to reading some of your other series.
As with the other four Monster Girl Islands books. This book was absolutely riveting. With great characters, realistic world realm, and a great storyline. I absolutely love this series.
I like how this story is progressing. It doesn't get boring and the love scenes are not egregious like in some other stories I've read. Looking forward to the next book
Ben seeks out another island hoping he's not to late to help save them

As usual an incredibly well written story!! Very cool mix of characters and premier interaction between them. The fighting scenes are definitely evolving in a positive way!!
