Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Well, I sat up reading all night, because I didn't want to put this book down until I reached the end - and what an ending it was!
This final book drew all the many and varied parts together, so that Raven and Leander could lead everyone to the Capital City, to confront the Consortium and, hopefully, the King, so that changes can be made.
And what changes they were!
Despite all of the support that they had, with both Family, and friends, Raven and Leander knew that they would have a fight on their hands, especially after the Consortium accused Raven's Grandfather of treason, plus a whole lot more of totally false accusations.
But, to get what they needed, in order for Magic to be set right, Raven knew they'd really have to convince both the Consortium, and the King, that what needs doing, is the right thing for everyone - and, fighting about it all, was the very last thing they wanted, or needed!
I loved the ending of this book. It Set things out beautifully, and a lot of secrets were revealed - and about time, too!
This series has been a lot of fun to read, and it kept me interested all along its journey, to the point that I now feel sad that it's over.
But, being the prolific writers that they are, I'm really glad that Martha Carr, and Michael Anderle still have many.more series for me to read.
I wasn't sure where to start, at first, then I realised that there was still another Terranavis series to read: 'The Adventures of Finnegan Dragonbender', with Book One being: 'The Return of the Dwarf King', so, once I've slept for a few hours, I'm going to make a start on it!
Once I've finished reading, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought of it!
I have loved so many books by Martha I'm not sure where to start but here goes, something!
The evolution of this series has been a great ride. It started in a well paced fashion until it hit the top of the hill in book 3. Book 4 became a race down the Rockies, fast, exciting and furious! Great adventures. I read a ton of books, at least 200 plus a year, might sound like B.S. but I'm retired and have time to enjoy myself. This series has been a portable movie for me. Martha brings life to her words, her settings are visual, and her characters amazing. When I read her words I feel I actually know these people. This to me is the best kind of reading.
This book was a wonderful ending to an old friend, but I know it will still be in the cloud, my backup and most fun of all my mind.
Martha, thanks as always for the great ride. Read this one folks, you'll love it as much as I do. ✌
I don't usually wait until a series ends before i review it here, but in this case, i had to; so apologies to both Martha and Michael. At first, i thought that this was going to be another 'teen goes to magic school' wannabe. I should've known better. This series was full of wonder, beauty, drama, excitement, and humanity. Humanity in all of its glory and ugliness. I caught myself being attacked, several times in each book,by those sneaky, invisible, onion wielding ninjas. Yes, i cried. I also laughed, stayed up way too late too many times just to finish 'the next page, the next chapter, the book'. I'd love to read a series about Mages Alby and Chase and all of their friends set after they graduate. Bravo!
That plot made no sense at all, don't you? Kind of funny really. Look she wasn't even able to explain it. But that's ok. Overall these books were good. Some were very good. I really enjoyed a fresh new world. Crazy plot twists. Fun reads. I'm a big fan of your books. Congratulations on your garden and your first real home. A place to experience life from and in. A future with roots and a place called home. Don't forget the outdoor room/or indoor outdoor room where you can bring friends and the offspring and have dinner, sit enjoy the garden and watch the roots grow, up.
I save reviews of series until the end of the series. Not that I don't rate the others with stars mind you.
This series snuck up on me. I've been devouring everything Oriceran for awhile now so I'm very familiar with Martha Carr's writing. When I saw the suggested for this book series I thought hmm I haven't seen you. From the first book to the last it was a beautiful story of friendship adventure, and finding equality in a world going haywire with the emergence of new magic. This is one fun series that I hope someday is picked up again so that we might see what has transpired in the world of dragon mages.
I choose this rating because this was an awesome book! Once again Martha and Michael did their thing! I'm sad to see this story end. Hoping there will be another. I would love to see the adventure of Henry, Murphy, Bella, Raven, the professors, grandpa Connor and Leander! I loved everything about this story. I would definitely recommended this book to any of my friends
I waited until I finished the whole series before leaving a review. I did this because the first half of the first book was tough for me to get in to and I almost gave up. I am so very glad that I persevered! What a truly wonderful and amazing series of books. The story of Leander, Raven, Henry, Bella, Murphy and all their friends, familiars and dragons was just outstanding!
Though I think there is more adventure for those @ Fowler Academy, perhaps it's time for Raven & Leander to step aside & let a new class of mage students leave their mark on Brighton & Lombardoon. I'm already missing Leander's snark, but those baby dragons with magic would make a fantastic new series. Maybe soon? The kiddos n I will be fans for life!
What a great series this has been. Really enjoyed learning about all the magic and what someone has to do to train their dragon... or not. Anyway, just spending so much time with these characters always makes me grieve when it's over. But there are so many more books to read and I'm glad to have another author to follow. So thanks to you both for another wonderful series!🤗
Book 8 is everything I’d imagine it would be. However, I really see potential for the series to continue. The authors did a great job with tying the loose ends, but still left a chance for it to continue. The characters have come to life with wonderful descriptions and the dialogue is witty, serious, fun and easily understood. Enjoy this series with the first book and you won’t want to stop until you get to #8
Last in the cycle, Raven has the mystical orb of the seed of magic. She’s been followed by a clan of wild dragons back to the hidden valley , and now she needs to return and free the dragons and heal the people of their magical rebirth growing pain. A good read.
The author did a great job of wrapping up all the loose ends and still leaving the story open if she wants to continue it in the future. I loved all the characters and there was lots of action and humor in the books. Love all of Martha Carr's books and cannot wait to read more.
I am going to miss Raven, Leander and the whole crew. I have gobbled up this series and it has definitely been a favorite of mine. The characters in this book have come alive with all of their banter and antics. If you are seeking an escape, a ride on a dragon and plenty of magic oh...and saving humanity, I definitely recommend this series!
I really enjoyed this series and caffeine near future will probably read it again. The series was originally to be a stop gap between a couple of other series I was waiting to continue. Probably at some near distant future I will pick up another of your series to fill another gap. Until then please continue on.
I'm sorry that this series ended. I was really involved with the characters and their familiars. Lots of excitement, intrigue, dragons and old dragons. Martha Carr. Is great.she might have started a little late, but it gave her time to get some great stories together.
I have read all of this series and I love 💘 all of them. I laughed as each person (yes I said person) grew into who they became, their stories can and must continue. Thank you so much for letting us in and sharing their lives. The Grandfather himself has story to tell about how his place in the universe. Again thank you.
Have enjoyed reading about the Warmage Raine and her friends. Just the you're of book I like, lots of action and adventure with the characters fighting for justice. I don't want to give the ending away, but felt that it ended too quickly. Left many questions unanswered. So I hard to take one star away.
What an amazing series! I highly recommend the entire exciting and imaginative series to all readers of all ages. It was as great as the Harry Potter and Dragon Riders of Pern series, and an excellent addition to every library of fiction editions. Enjoy!
A very nice conclusion, but not wrapped-up enough to close the further stories to come. I liked this and would liked to read more. Second year is coming up.
Saved the best for last.. a perfect end to a series I didn't want to end. Martha Carr some how changed my sadness of knowing the story was to end into a exciting happy journey. That left me feeling hope for all
It is sad that this story has ended, but it has been an enjoyable journey throughout, hopefully at some point you will revisit Raven and Leander to either catch up or continue their story.
I'm kind of sad this story ended. Love it! Maybe there will be another storyline with Raven, Leander and their friends? Highly recommend this series. Magic with dragons and actions and witty dialogs.
A fun and fitting conclusion to the series. Not a great fan of "teen" books but this one read as if the students were all older so that is how I pictured it in my mind. Hopefully one day books such as this will be written with adults as the main characters.
Great ending to a great series. Exciting beginning to find what they need to control the magic that has come back to everyone, everywhere. Follow Leander and Raven as they meet up with her grandfather and Leaanders mom. When they set out to find a legend.
Finally, a long book series with a reasonable and entertaining ending. I enjoyed this series, with few issues. A good read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys dragon stories!
