Find a Quiet Corner: A Simple Guide to Self-Peace

Rate this book
We take our breath for granted. Since this gives us our life it follows that we probably take it for granted as well. Learning to concentrate on your breath will refresh your zest for life and put you in awe once again of the majesty that surrounds you. FIND A QUIET CORNER will be your guide toward self-peace.

Rushing through the day drains your precious energy, increases your stress, and makes you feel depleted instead of renewed. FIND A QUIET CORNER will help you change that. It is a caring companion that goes beyond daily meditations to teach you how to unwind, experience a new infusion of energy, and get in touch with the reservoir of strength and calmness hidden within all of us.

In just a few minutes, you can discover how to tap into these resources. You’ll be able to enter your own private sanctum any time…in the morning when you wake up…during lunch…at night…even right now. The investment in time is small, but the rewards are strength and inner peace.

This book has been a good reminder for me to take a few minutes of reflective time every day. The first section focuses on making time for stillness on your own each day. This part is best read just a page or two at a time because each topic is no more than a page so it only takes a minute or two. The second section is about bringing that serenity into the rest of your life: at work, anytime things are going wrong, in family situations, and even when watching TV.

I'm happy that I own a copy of this one, because it has become almost like a reference book for me and I come back to it every few days. The cover inspires a peaceful feeling and the contents, even more so. Really nice book to have.

I certainly do not need an arm twisting to spend time alone, I love my time alone, and because of this I sometimes feel guilty since I am not extending attention to others and their needs. This book has helped me understand how essential time alone is to my health and spiritual growth. It has also served as a guide to make productive use of my time alone such as meaningful reflection, renewing, healing, accepting but most importantly, I have learned the practice being in the present.

By intertwining various religions, the author not only reaches a vast audience but helps us understand others religions and the fundamental needs of humans.

En enkel guide til pust- og oppmerksomhetstrening som jeg hadde godt av å lese! Viktige påminnere å ta med seg i hverdagen, så det blir nok ikke siste gang jeg leser eller lytter til denne boken.
