Betrayal. Danger. Redemption.

Archaeologist, Dr. Tory Winters, unearths an unfathomable--and dangerous--find at the Temple of the Stars in Norte Sierra. Her only hope for escaping the dig site with her prize and life is to enlist Rafael "Guerrero" Stanford, an ex-American federal agent, for help. Too bad for her, Guerrero's wife was murdered for the same discovery and he refuses to return to the temple that in his mind holds nothing but nightmarish memories he'd rather forget. When Tory won't take no as his answer, he finds himself immersed in a lethal battle to save a legendary treasure and both of their lives.

I love stories that are located in other parts of the world! This one is in Central America on an archeological dig and someone is willing to kill for the artifacts that are found there. There is betrayal, danger and redemption. Dr. Tory Winters enlists "Guerrero" Stanford to help her at the dig site to keep her and the other workers safe because a lot of danger has happened there. Guerrero's wife was killed for this same discovery 3 years ago and he doesn't want to help Tory but he can see that she is in danger so finally relents and helps her. What follows is non-stop action. Trying to guess who is behind all of this will take all of their wits! Along the way, they just might fall in love. I loved all the action and the archeology goings on. It was fascinating! A fantastic story from a great writer!

Into the Fray by Margaret Daley
Daring Escapes Series Book Three
Guerrero, AKA Rafael Stanford, had everything he loved taken away from him three years ago and has been on a hunt for revenge since then. When a woman came to him for help, he didn't want to help her. Then realized that he might finally get his answers if he did.

Dr. Tory Winters needed Guerrero to help protect their dig site. He was her last chance. Someone was stealing from their site and scaring the natives she had working to help her...chasing them away.

Tory had no idea how dark and deep it went, as far as her artifact finds. She saw where this would get her recognized in the archaeology world...but, she missed that someone behind the scenes was greedy. So greedy that they wanted the artifacts at any cost...even human lives. Another well-told story with wonderful characters.

One might question how one petite, young archaeologist can dig up so much trouble when she and her team are digging for artifacts at the ruins of an ancient Mayan temple. After being referred to Guerrero for protection for her and the site, the problems seem to escalate. I think I would have gone looking for a safer occupation rather than hanging around there expecting someone who clearly did not want to be there to protect me. One thing is certain: the story does not lack for suspense and action. Tory seems to be facing life-threatening events at almost every turn. She is definitely one stubborn young lady. If Guerrero says stay, she is determined to go. The reader will have to determine whether that is a good or bad thing. Although Guerrero is bitter about something in his past for which he has declared he will get revenge, it is refreshing that he is open to the voice of God. I received a copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

I love Margaret Daley books. She is among my favorite authors and was excited to read her third installment from the Daring Escapes series, Into the Fray. I loved this book! I was entertained from start to finish. I enjoyed the mystery, suspense, and romance. It was so so good.

Into the Fray is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I loved this quick read and highly recommend it. I hope there will be a fourth book from the Daring Escapes series.

I received Into the Fray from the Kindle Unlimited Program and was not required to write a review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Good romantic suspense

I always like reading romantic suspense and this book has it. I also like reading about archeology. Guererro is trying to find the people responsible for his wife's murder when she was researching an archeological dig. Now Tory has come to him for protection on the same dig. At first, he doesn't want to help but then decides to see if it will help him find the murderers and also keep Tory safe. The danger is real and the romantic feelings between him and Tory is real, too even if they can't act on them.

I enjoyed this story but never really connected. There were a lot of people involved without a lot of information to follow. A lot of repetition about the hero's murdered wife and the heroine's controlling father. They did go "into the fray" but their escapes did not come across as daring. Still, I enjoyed reading about a jungle romance.

Into the Fray

Into the Fray is a nail biter for sure. Danger and intrigue at an archeological site as well as greed and betrayal, all the while a tender romance blossomed in the midst of the chaos.
