This is a true story about a little boy named Dalen Thomas, as told by his grieving mother about how her faith in God gets her through the loss of a child. The events of his life are unfortunately very much true. Dalen was a highly gifted nine-year-old bright and artistic little boy who tragically lost his life on October 31, 2018, while loading onto the school bus at his home in Pratts, Mississippi. He was very funny, loving, and the most forgiving little boy God ever created. He was born with superhero strength and powers that helped him overcome the everyday struggles in his life, and now mom is faced with struggles of her own and has to rely on her son’s superpowers. He used his superpowers for good and now she must also. Dalen’s life had a perilous start, beginning during pregnancy. He was born with cytomegalovirus that left him blind in one eye and deaf in one ear. He was born with one solitary kidney and had 11 surgeries, all before he went to kindergarten, although you would have never known it by the way he lived. As a result he also had ADHD and high-functioning autism, along with some developmental delays. He overcame more obstacles in his short life than most people do in their entire lifetime. Dalen was a true Superhero and he changed the world. He was Super D. His mother, Miranda Thomas, tells his story, as she advocates and pushes for needed changes in the way school students are loaded to and from school buses, which account for 98% of all school bus related fatalities. If this story helps bring just one child home safely, it has all been worth it.
