Excerpt:

Emil, who paused next to the stairs, stares from me to the blow dryer and the stain in his cheeks spreads. “I don’t think so, Ms. Pond.”

“Oh, yes, you do.” I shoo him back toward his room. “I am going to blow you so hard.”

From behind me, Kellen coughs to hide a laugh.

Emil casts a glare his way before he turns stiffly and continues on into his bedroom.

I follow, my eyes sweeping over the room where I’d just spent a pleasure filled night with my men.

The fire still burns in the fireplace, and heavy quilts and fur blankets now cover the bed once more, the pillows neatly stacked at the top. Tobias had really wanted to see my wings, if the way he positioned my purple sequin pillow at the front of the mound is any indication.

My chest tightens once more, but I push away the disappointment, refusing to believe we can’t fix what Victor Hesse did to me before it’s too late.

“Sit on the poof,” I command as I search out the power strip next to Emil’s bed.

“That’s Tac’s,” he protests even as he circles around the bed to the giant white bean bag on the other side.

As if called, Tac bounds into the room and over the bed, landing with a heavy thud on the other side. As soon as Emil settles onto the poof, Tac plops his head down on the ice demon’s lap, and a loud, chainsaw purr fills the room.

Grinning, I step up behind Emil and flick on the dryer. “Prepare for the best blow job of your life.”

Drained is the third installment in L.L. Frost’s Succubus Undone storyline arc and is the 40th book in her Succubus Harem serial. The last book ended with Adie struggling with what Viktor has done to her. He has damaged her in a way that neither she nor her demons know anything about, and things are only going from bad to worse.
Drained is one of those somber books that make you want to keep page-turning in the hopes that something good will happen and that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel for the characters. Adie and her demons are learning about the twisted thing that Viktor has done and just how deeply it is going to be impacting her. Things aren’t looking good. I like that Flint returns in this book. He’s an interesting character and one that I’d love to learn more about.
This book is a lot darker in comparison to previous ones in this serial. I don’t really mind the darkness of it. I’m more disappointed and annoyed with Adie in certain moments. Her knowingly and intentionally taking in energy despite knowing the consequences just to essentially be petulant…not surprising, but still stupid. Then her wanting to be angry at the slag demons for “failing to protect” her? It’s a reach for me.
The ending of this installment is…unexpected and heartbreaking. My jaw literally hit the floor. I’m hoping for something good in the next book, but I’m not going to get my hopes up too high.
I’m rating this installment 5 out of 5 stars. It’s well written, and while it is darker it is still engaging. If you have read the series to this point and enjoyed it, then I encourage you to read this book, but brace yourself for the end.

Adie is in trouble. Victor Hesse got to Adie and there may not be a way out this time. Her Destruction Demons are helpless to help and can actually make it worse. The Library is closed. Her only hope may be the witches. I hated this episode!! It was so good. My heart hurts for Adie. Not only is she in peril but she can't risk being comforted. By the end, her isolation was in a way, complete. As horrible as everything is, this segment also had some of my favorite quips; panicked Adie is hysterical. I'm going to need some witchy magic to save my favorite baby succubus. I'm okay with her being a genie in a bottle short-term while others save the day but I'm going to need her back baking cupcakes before Tac's babies are too big to ride on her shoulder.

Prepare to cry. There will be tears. This serials started out so fun, carefree, and sweetly devilish (or should I say succubus-ish?), that I got pulled into Adie's misadventures. A succubus who wanted more than sex, she wants love and family. This story arc is threatening to tear all her hopes and dreams apart. I'm topped in and I don't want to be free...but damn, waiting for the next installment is going to seem like forever!

The ending 😭😱

Watching Adie discover and struggle with the effects of what Victor did has been hard. Thankfully her 'training' with the lack of feeding in the past has been helpful in a way. Though im curious how this will end as it continues to get worse and she gets hungrier. The last few pages kinda ripped my heart out to be honest. I'm not ok but need to see what happens next!!

Holy Crap!!

OMG!! I cannot believe this installment! Again, only for a day or two Adie gets to be happy before the rug is pulled out from under her. The poor succubus!
And now not only is she going through something awful, Landon is still missing and now others are in danger. But the very end of this book... I can’t even believe it!

Great story as always. I’m enjoying the current story arc, and am looking forward to the next book in the series. I’ve read all of these books and greatly enjoyed all of them. The up and down side of a short story is that it almost always leaves you wanting more.
