The author of Almost Vegetarian presents the one book that full-time and part-time vegetarians need on their shelves--a book that contains more than 600 contemporary low-fat recipes and invaluable nutritional and culinary information about the vegetarian way of life. 500 line drawings.
Best cookbook ever! Most recipes on the more complicated and time consuming side but worth it. Healthy and educational. A resource like an encyclopedia included. If I wasn't busy with kids one of whom is a lucky eater I think I would only cook from these recipes every week.
There were many new and creative dishes in this book that I loved. There were informative introductions to each section on healthful choices, as well as information on balancing nutrients and flavors. I'm planning purchasing a copy of this book.
One of my three favorite cookbooks, I have used this one since 2000. Some of my fav recipes include corn fritters, peanut dipping sauce, and cranberry/apple crumble. Yummy!
I've gone through a lot of vegetarian cookbooks in my 14 years as a vegetarian, and I find Diana Shaw's to be the most well written and useful out of those that I have read.
