1. Get her to hate your guts—on second thought, skip this step. 2. Pay her $1 million to be your kid’s nanny (I’m a billionaire...adjust according to your budget.) 3. If all else fails, just get her in the jacuzzi.
I’m Lacey Larsen, and my life is a trainwreck. The train’s name is Noah Black.
The billionaire who ruined my life five years ago is trying to make things right. I have a million reasons not to forgive him, but when he offers me a dollar for each one, my three dead-end jobs make it hard to say no.
I’m trying so hard to hate him, but it’s impossible. Especially when his daughter is such a sweetheart. It’s not her fault her father is as insufferable as he is irresistible.
Yeah, I have a crush on the guy who crushed me, but I won’t let him wreck my life again. I just have to get through one year. Fifty-two short little weeks of Noah Black and I can walk away with my heart in one piece.
Melinda Minx lives in Seattle with her loyal Corgi. She writes late into the night with a hot cup of Earl Grey. She likes to write romantic comedies, the cuter the better!
Can we start with all these five star reviews? Halfway through the book, the author switches character names and calls the nanny the daughters name. Did none of you notice? There are also two separate instances where it was as if the author copy and pasted a scene that we meant for somewhere else.
This book had SO MUCH potential. The title is adorable, the cover cute, and a great premise. The failure was in the execution. I was completely taken by the first 40% of the book. But then it all went down hill. It was like the author was only allowed to write 200 pages and no matter what the story required, she had to get it all in under those guidelines. I'm really disappointed. Could have been something great. Instead, completely forgettable.
I wasn’t sure about this but it was such a cute brain candy story that I read it in one sitting! If you like sticky sweetness with some hot sex on the side this will make you grin
Lacey is an author of books for kids, but when Noah’s publishing company breaks a contract with her for the books, Lacey barely has money for a living. She works in a library and during one of the reading hour, Noah shows up there with his little daughter, Naomi, who is in love with Lacey’s books. Noah wants to redeem himself for what he did to her and offers her one million in exchange for working as Naomi’s nanny and writing more books. Lacey agrees. From the beginning, Noah was interested in Lacey passionately, Lacey in him too. And while on a cruise, they get closer.
It was a fun, easy read. With cute moments and great chemistry.
This is an insta-love story. The premise sounds good, but it ended up being unbelievable. Everything moved to quickly and with no real depth or chemistry between the characters.
I liked this book, but there were some serious editing issues. The author used the heroine's name in place of the daughter's and vice versa multiple times. It took me out of the story and I feel it should have been caught prior to publishing. Also, she referred to a child as the "fat" boy, which I found offensive as someone who has battled with weight since childhood.
Wow. Yeah, this was bad. Bad plot, bad characterisation, bad writing, bad editing.
The objectification and smuttiness begins pretty early on, when the h is so overcome with the H's hotness she gets horny in front of a group of small kids in her care at the local library. It picks up layer with the hero's fixation on his c*ck and wondering thoughts about 'what she can do for him.'
Really? What a dick.
It never fails to get to me that people believe this is how men think - and worse, they believe we want to read about it. Like many of us aren't already bored to tears by an endless stream of arrogant, 'sculpted' and physically perfect male specimens who are also conveniently billionaires. But of course, money doesn't buy class because these men all think with their dicks, think about their dicks, smirk over spineless women that become flustered around them, and think about their dicks some more. They ARE dicks. I don't want to know about them and I sure don't want to read their POV as imagined by some writer who hasn't a clue.
Also, the hero fat-shames a Kindergartener. For clarification, he does so in his mind, but yeah, still not okay. Not the first time he thought it or the 4th or 5th, either. What kind of person repeatedly refers to a 5-year-old as 'the fat kid'? Are writers so desperate to force their work on the public that they simply disregard the current social climate and ignore the message that there are just some things you don't say? Apparently not.
The writing is abysmal, the editing is worse. The hero's daughter is called the heroine's name at one point. At another, just after sex as a matter of fact, the heroine is called the daughters name. Lazy.
Apparently, a little depth to a story and posting one's best, EDITED work are too much to ask.
Best to skip this. It's rubbish.

The story itself drew me in...I wanted a palate cleanser after the last few books I’ve read (heavy crime thrillers). While I got the light, quick read that I wanted, the book itself left much to be desired. Aside from the poor editing, the story moved much too quickly for any real character development to happen and I felt like so many romance novel tropes were thrown into the story that the foundation theme was lost in the shuffle. If you just want a quick romance novel and aren’t too picky, then this book may be what you need.
Lacey used to write and illustrate children’s books until the small time publisher she worked with was bought out by a big time publisher that redid her contract, giving her pennies on the dollar. Now she’s barely getting by working three jobs. Her favorite job is working in a library reading to children. Noah Black is a partner in Blackwinters Publishing. He’s also a single dad who will do anything for his daughter Naomi, even taking the Staten Island Ferry to go to the most popular Children’s Reading Hour. When Naomi finds out that the librarian wrote her favorite books, she’s thrilled. But when Lacey finds out that Noah is the publisher that screwed her over, she’s not so thrilled. When he begs her to be Naomi’s nanny and write five more books and agrees to her million dollar demand, she wonders if there’s more to Noah than she thought. There are a few typos so I took off a star, but I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.
Multiple errors were missed during the editing process which was annoying. This books just annoyed me as I read it. I feel like it was a juvenile writing style and very blah. Once a character was introduced as Regina Georges (adding an s doesn’t make it not knocking off mean girls) I was out. It was an okay read but I think with more originality and better editing this book could have been a lot better.
There were many elements I enjoyed. I liked the romance at its core and I liked the daughter because she behaved like a little girl. Sometimes book children in romances are either perfect or awful with no in between. This felt about right. What I didn’t enjoy was the big blow-up scene. It’s obvious what it’s going to be about. But, the scene itself was overwrought with drama considering he barely asked her a question and ran off like he accused her of high treason. Her reaction was so immature. He had a point in his question and she was a brat. This probably stems from rushing them in a friends to lovers to live-ins in like two weeks. A bit heavy handed.
Who knew this was going to be such an easy breezy fun read! I’m usually not a fan of insta-love stories because sometimes it’s hard to feel a real chemistry going on, but I was having such a great time that I didn’t even care that they “played Marco Polo in the jacuzzi” so early on! Also Naomi!!! Was freaking cute!!! And so innocent!!!! I loved her!!!!
Though this was a great read, I get the feeling that the author knew exactly what the end result was supposed to be but then was running against time to finish it. Up until Noah asked Laney to be the nanny, things were going perfectly fine, but out of nowhere they were being rushed to a cruise and she didn’t even have time to pack?? Around 35% the story pulled a Speedy Gonzales and then suddenly hit the brakes and called it a day. Two or three more chapters would have helped it not seem so rushed.
The one main issue I had with the book that I would like to address was its poorly editing. Did anyone apart from the author actually take the time to proofread the whole thing? Because there’s NO WAY someone would have let this many name mix-ups slide.
This was not really really bad, but beside the fact that both h and H were ridiculously attracted to one another after having exchanged just a few words (?!) I don't like it when the author needs constructed facts as fundament for the story but those facts don't feel right or don't add up. Like in this book. The h says she has to work 3 jobs because her publisher (the H) changed her contract so afterwards she didn't get nearly any earnings from selling her books (implying that before they changed her contract, she was an author and didn't have to work other jobs to earn her living). On the other hand the H says he had to change her contract because her books didn't sell good and even after the contract change (when he supposedly got 99,9% of the sellings of her books) he didn't make profits from her books. And on this paradoxon stands the fundament of the entire story?! Sorry, but dnf @14%.

What a cute romantic comedy! The book is about Noah and Lacey; Lacey has three jobs to keep afloat, one of which as a librarian, and Noah, a single-father a new owner of a publishing company. The two meet when Noah and Naomi (Noah's daughter) go to the library 'Reading Hour' for children at the library. Lacey is immediately awestruck by him. However, once she gets to know who he is, her demeanour around him changes instantly, he turns out to be Mr Black, the man that she stopped publishing her children's books with, because he decided that her books weren't worth much, so she ended up making very little. Lacey tells him off, and a few days later, he decides that he should excuse himself for his behaviour. He tells her that he would like to make up for his mistakes; so, he offers her a contract of a year publishing in turn for a million dollars and after a lot of thinking Lacey agrees.
After that things, are going well until Noah's nanny decides to quit since her help is needed back home. Since Noah is very picky (and agreeably so) with whom he leaves his daughter, he makes up his mind to ask Lacey whether she would take up the offer and once she accepts he feels over the moon along with an emotion that's still new to him. Will he act on his feelings?
I love books like these, light and funny books! A must-read!

This is a love to hate story about Lacey who is a struggling author working several part time jobs to make ends meet and Noah is a billionaire single dad to a precious little girl, Naomi. Unknowingly Noah’s company buys the publishing company where Lacey has her deal and he cuts it to the point she can not make a living writing. Noah is a dad who will do anything to make Naomi happy and takes her to story time at the public library where they meet Lacey only to discover she is the author of Naomi’s favorite books. Noah needs a nanny and Lacey needs a job where she is not struggling. Lacey agrees to Noah’s offer, 1 billion dollars and publish additional books for 1 year. These two have an undeniable connection that has humor and love so when they are together a business trip on a cruise things go upside down quickly and they spend the entire time together. They make a beautiful couple and a nice little family until those out to create havoc do and put doubt into Noah sending Lacey away. Noah and Lacey both get advice from their friends on how to figure out their 1st argument so who gives in first? Potential spoilers in the second "unforgivable point".
Two stars because of an adorable child and a relatively decent story up until the 80% mark or so.
The unforgivable points:
The male best friend to the hero was a gawd awful turd, who was meant to be snarky and edgy, but came off as misogynistic and well ... turdy. The hero was marginally better, likely due to him being balanced out by his sweet, adorable and well-adjusted daughter. The male bestie definitely brought out the worst in the hero though and both of them needed to be put in their place for their locker room talk and dumbass comments on women.
The big conflict at the end was so unnecessary. In fact, the heroine blew everything out of proportion and if she had just TALKED to the hero like he requested they probably would have worked it out right then and there. Instead both of them took terrible advice from their "best friends" and the hero ended up apologizing with a grand gesture. People. You both messed up. If you had been dating for more than a week before moving in together, you might have handled this better.
Thank goodness it was a short read. I would have felt more irritated if this book took up more of my time.

Lacey Larsen is struggling, working three jobs to keep going. She writes children’s books and works as a librarian on one of her jobs. Noah Black is a single-father and new owner of a publishing company. He has a wonderful daughter, Naomi, and would do anything in the world to make her happy.
Lacey and Noah met when Noah took Naomi to the library’s 'Reading Hour'. Lacey is attracted to him until she realizes he is the one who had determined the children's books she wrote were not of much value and it hurt her financially. He makes her an offer to make up for the harm he did, and the two of them began to build a strong, caring relationship – until interference by his ex threatened what had been moving toward. Would they find a way to reconnect?
What I loved most was seeing how Naomi was so important to them and her needs always considered no matter what obstacles came along. The three of them were a wonderful combination for a loving family. Would they find their way back together to make that happen?
If you’re looking for a sweet and fast read, choose this book!
Noah and Lacey kind of have a history together. Noah’s company is the publisher for Lacey’s books, but his company hasn’t been very fair to her. When his daughter starts reading and enjoying the books, he sets out to meet Lacey and convince her to write more books. But it’s not as easy as just asking and soon Noah needs a nanny too. So, Noah convinces Lacey to be his daughter’s Nanny and write more books for $1 million dollars.
This book is cute and sweet, so don’t expect an action packed adventure. There are a few funny parts to enjoy and a small climax where the characters need to prove their relationship. I really liked the Chance Charter rip off of Harry Potter parts.
There were a few small sex scenes that were solid. They weren’t so great that you’ll need relief, but they were well done.
Give this book a try. It’s a good romance that’ll have you saying awwww. Happy reading y’all!
I loved this book. First of all, the humor and metaphors are smart and funny. The relationships are wonderful - Noah is a loving, indulgent father, Naomi a precocious, happy little girl, and Lacey a sweet, loyal young woman.
Noah is one of those fathers that does anything to make his little girl happy even if it make him look ridiculous. Lacey knows what to say to impatient little girls to calm them down. I liked that Noah never avoided answering one of Naomi’s “difficult” questions in a way that would make sense to a child.
Noah and Lacey just clicked from the beginning how they handled the challenges of their relationship considering the impact on Naomi was an important part of the story. They had loads of chemistry.
All in all, I found this to be a creative, delightful, and passionate story that romcom lovers will enjoy and I will be looking forward more books to read by this author.

When I first read the blurb, I thought it was going to be a second chance romance of sorts, but it was so much more than that! Lacey's life was indeed thrown off and ruined by Noah, but in a financial business way. When Lacey met Noah for the first time, she recognized him and his famous name, but he had no idea who she was and why she was so angry at him. I loved the way his sweet daughter Naomi was the bridge to their relationship as she loved Lacey's book series that had been cancelled due to Noah's business decisions. Their relationship was steamy and sweet at the same time. When their relationship started to get rocky due to a bit of drama from Noah's ex, they both got hilarious advice from their perspective friends about how not to be the first one to apologize. I loved the sweet climatic ending with the Gobblegurt story. Original, sweet, funny, and romantic!

Loved it – Happily Ever After!!! This is about Lacey and Noah. Noah is a single billionaire dad to Naomi. Lacey is a writer along with working odd jobs to meet her responsibilities. Well Lacey’s luck is not the best as her publishing company has been bought by Noah’s company and he then decides to cut some of the contracts which one of happens to be hers.
Without knowing her he takes his daughter to story time at the library only to meet Lacey and once he realizes that his daughter loves her books and what he has done, he then comes up with his plan to hire her but not just as a writer but as a nanny. The offer was really good but the connection between them is better. Of course, with this attraction, you know there is going to be drama, but the question then lies on how they resolve their issue to make this work. This is a page turner – pick this book up.

To be honest, I wish that I knew that this book was the first one. Because I read the one with Silas first. I’m seeing him as the manwhore that he was smh. But at least I got to read about Noah and Lacey and how they met.
It was way different than his best friend book. But just like his best friend he pushes the one person he cared about away too. I had a feeling that Noah was going to do something to push Lacey away. But I knew they were going to end up together. Especially since I read the one book with Silas.
But whatevs. At least they ended up fixing things between each other because I could tell that they wanted more between them than just s*x... and Naomi liked Lacey and wanted her to become a mother to her.
This is Noah and Lacey’s story. Lacey works 3 jobs to make ends meet and one of them is in a library, and Noah is a single dad who will do anything for his little girl and when he takes her to the library for reading hour, they meet Lacey. When Lacey finds out that he is the new owner of a publishing company her attitude changes towards him as he is the one who put an end to publishing her children’s stories as he deemed them as worthless. Will Noah be able to redeem himself to Lacey? No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is sweet, entertaining, humorous, and with witty banter which leads to a steamy and all-consuming page turner. I recommend for all readers.
The story 'How to Wife Your Nanny: A Billionaire Single Dad Romance' features a single dad and a single librarian both looking for that special connection they can share with someone who turns their world upside down. The only problem is that these two love birds have been out of the romance game so long that they don't really know how to start it back up again. This story will make you laugh, it will make you smile, and it will really get you annoyed at both of these two. But at the end of it all, you'll walk away smiling, because you don't need to be a master at romance to show someone you love them.

This is the first book I ever read from Melinda and I already bought 2 others. Noah, Lacey and Naomi were a hysterical family. I love single dad stories but this was a very unique story. I laughed so much and I enjoyed the beginning of the book so much I had to read it again. Then getting Lacey to forgive Noah was so funny and then Lacey became the nanny and Naomi was such a brilliant little girl who added so much to the story. The end was also so beautifully written and there was plenty of real steamy hot 🔥 scenes. I only have the best things to say about this book. I give it way more then 5 stars and I recommend this book to everyone 😍.
This is SO CUTE!! Noah & Lacey have such a fun meet-cute, and Naomi is adorable. I love the way the story progresses. It's a quick read, and time-wise the relationship is really at lightning speed, but it doesn't feel rushed. I felt the connection to all characters right from the beginning, which is always a plus.
Also, I don't normally like cartoony art on covers, but this picture perfectly portrays their first meeting & I love it!!
Highly recommend this story for the sweet & steamy feels with a lot of smiles & some genuine LOL moments. And the epilogues are also well done! Thumbs up!!
I'll be honest and say that it was the cover that first got me to look at this book, then I read the blurb and wanted to know more....I really liked this story, it hooked me in and had me tapping my device for the next page only to discover I had reached the end! The story flowed well, the characters were great and it was funny, sweet, a little crazy, sexy and full of love. For me the book finished too soon, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Lacey, Noah and Naomi, I wanted to spend more time with them. This is a new author for me, and I am very glad the book cover caught my eye.
