Mr. McHottie lives right next door. He’s older, and I’m just a college student. Add some icing on the cake. He’s my landlord. An unexpected twist of fate throws us together. I’m just trying to make it through the final weeks of college before heading off to med school. It takes one misunderstanding to ruin everything. One look at the pregnancy strip, One twist of fate… And I’m wondering if Nate can be more than a fun distraction. Do second chances really exist?
I'm sorry, I tried. I had to finally give up and DNF at 51%
It's too wordy for one thing and then I thought it was maybe a single "Daddy" type book (should have read the synopsis) but it is an age gap (which I normally love) and the girl wants to call him daddy during sex......No thank you!!! That is just too weird for me. To each their own, but it doesn't work for me
I can't really give a true rating because I tapped out a third of the way in.
I sometimes dip my toes into a daddy book to see if my tastes have changed and I'll like that trope. The cover attracted my attention but the book started slow and I already found myself skimming the first 30 pages, so that wasn't a good start.
This wasn't the book to interest me in daddy-kink, and the age-gap trope which I do enjoy wasn't enough to keep me reading.
The title of the book should have alerted me that the word Daddy could be an issue. I don't mind role-play in the bedroom, but the continual use of "Daddy" in every single bedroom encounter was just a bit much for me. I could see it in the beginning but had hoped the characters would grow a little. I like age-gap romances and the premise of the book is good, just not my type of read.
Made it about 1/3 of the way and the female 22 year old virgin tells the 30 something male she wants to have sex with him and wants to call him “Daddy” while doing it. That’s when the book lost my interest.
I pregi però finiscono qui.
Lei comincia a chiamarlo "Papi". Cosa potrebbe mai andare storto, in fondo...
A 40 year old falls for the 20 year old co-ed renting his next door apartment. He’s set for life, she’s just starting med school, and a virgin. He’s willing to teach her the facts of life and gets her preggers the second time they make love. The sex scenes are really good except for one thing. They like role playing. He’s dominant and must swat her butt if she’s been “bad,” and she insists on calling him Daddy! But only during sex. Hmmm. That’s just too kinky for me. No matter how old my partner was I wouldn’t want him to be my Daddy at that moment! It’s not uncommon for a 40 year old man to become a father, or a 40 year old woman, a mother. If She was in the opposite position, would she want her 20 year old lover to scream out “Mommy” as they made love? I don’t think so! If that was left out of the story, the characters would still be strong, and the story interesting. As it was, I cringed whenever she called him Daddy!
I loved the dynamics between these characters I found them to be well developed and engaging throughout the storyline. The storyline flowed smoothly to my delight from start to finish.

A good read with characters that had good chemistry and deserve a second chance at love. Just because life takes us down different roads we can't help who we love whether it's forbidden or not.

Quick Summary Cynthia is in her senior year of college and getting ready to head to NYC to continue her education and become the doctor she always dreams of. School and studies has been at the forefront with little room for partying and downtime, let alone dating.
Not that she wouldn't like to meet and date someone but none of her college dates have hinted at even a tiny spark of interest. Not like the inferno of heat she feels just thinking about her forbidden crush, Nate. A sexy, single, older guy who also happens to be her landlord.
Nate can't shake his attraction to Cynthia, not even knowing that he's twice her age and too settled in his ways to get seriously involved with someone planning to leave at the end of the semester.
But when these two finally give in to their combustible chemistry, they'll have to re-evaluate their future plans and decide if their passion is long lasting or just a wild fling.
🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤 This was a quickie read with insta love and a heaping serving of spicy lust. Although I liked Nate and Cynthia together, the waffling back and forth was a little overwhelming for such a short read.
Was is sweet? Yes. The cute baby surprise was adorable. I'm a sucker for surprise pregnancies so I loved that plot line but I did wish Cynthia would have grown to be a little more assertive instead of second guessing herself all the time and Nate to be a bit more possessive. He does have to balance his needs with trying not to step on her toes. I'm an all or nothing kind of girl so his pussy footing around her was something I don't normally associate with older alpha heroes.
The ending almost makes up for it though because the epilogue of a year later was the freakin cutest! If you love epilogues that show the happy couple living their best life with a plus 1, this one will leave you with a huge smile on your face.

Content warning for light daddy kink and a surprise pregnancy
Cynthia is in her last year of college and she has spent her college years being responsible and making sure she studies hard so she can pass her classes. She is studying to become a doctor and then head to NYC for medical school. Her friends think she needs more of a social life.
Nate is in his 40s and has been single for awhile, he got married when he was really young and the marriage didn’t work out, so he’s just wanted to keep any hook up he has as casual. He owns his house and he rents out the apartment he owns next door. Cynthia has been living in the apartment for a couple of years, and Nate has been attracted to her, but never made a move on her.
One night Cynthia needs help with her water heater and Nate goes over to fix it, that’s when their hooking up begins.
This was a cute older man/ younger woman romance, I don’t normally like these types of romances because the heroine’s always seem so immature to me, but I did feel like Cynthia had to grow up quickly after her mother developed cancer when she was a teenager, so her character came off as very mature and responsible, so with her having sexual relations with an older man didn’t feel creepy to me. There also is a surprise pregnancy in this, which I kind of secretly like for some reason. Sometimes they don’t work for me, but this one did. Once they found out she was pregnant they realized that both of them made a mistake and weren’t very careful, so I did like that both of them took the responsibility and didn’t put the blame on one or the other. Also it was so refreshing to see a hero take on the responsibility of taking care of their child, while Cynthia continued to go to medical school. To me they definitely had more of a ying/yang personality to where they balanced each other out. It just made it look like they were meant to find each other. I will say the authors writing sometimes took me out of the book, it was a lot of the characters being insecure about the other “does she really like me?” What if this? What if that? Definitely more telling in this story than showing. That’s how I felt, but i ultimately enjoyed the story.

Cynthia Lannon is within weeks of achieving her goal—graduating with honors from her upstate New York college on a pre-med track. Set to enter med school in New York City in the fall, the shy, reserved girl has experienced college life mostly vicariously through her two best friends—also pre-med, Becca and Tommy. But she never felt that she had time to spend engaged in the expected college extra-curricular life of parties and hook ups. No part of the graduation requirements stated that she must lose her virginity in order to receive her degree!
After her freshman year, she had even chosen to move off campus—close enough for a short bike ride to get her to class. And now 3 years later, she is still pleased with her off-campus housing decision, enjoying her upstairs, duplex apartment, especially with landlord living in the house next door who is on call to manage all problems.
Nate Ramsay is a 40-year-old, bearded software developer who loves his home and his remote work setup. He had spent his young adult years in New York City, but with the breakup of his too young marriage, he needed a fresh start. And so, for the last 10 years, the small upstate New York college town had provided the perfect place for him to regroup after the end of his marriage. And when he was ready to test the dating waters again, the college town had provided him with diverse dating opportunities without the complications of meeting and dating in the city. He had reconnected with himself and his passions, affirming who he was and what was central to his life. And, in addition to his software development, he had enjoyed the experience of being a landlord for the next door duplex that he purchased when he bought his own house, especially when the renters were as pleasant as one of his current renters, the cute coed, Cynthia, with her beautiful dark curly hair and her long legs.
And, over time, as the timid Cynthia reflected on her approaching graduation, she was also reflective of her virginal state. So, when she reached out to her landlord to fix the hot water heater, she is once again impressed with how kind, affirming and hot he is. And, for the first time in her life, she was interested in getting to know a man better—a man who could teach and guide her in the discovery of becoming a woman—something she could never imagine in the hands of a college boy. Every girl needs a man who will anticipate her needs and desires—both physical and emotional. Every girl needs a daddy.
Kelly Meyers tells a sweet and passionate story of a young girl becoming a woman with the loving attention and protection of a strong alpha daddy. The tale of an innocent’s introduction to the world of love and sex is told with care and sensitivity that leaves a smile on the reader’s face.

Cynthia is an innocent younger woman, a medical school student with anxiety issues. She has had a lot happen in her short life, causing the overserious and anxiety issues to thrive. She rents the apartment next door to him, and secretly dreams of her deliciously hot landlord.
Nate is a slightly older man with a hardened heart from something in his past. He is finally doing what he enjoys while working from home. He also is the landlord to the next door duplex, and finds himself attracted to the beautiful young lady next door.
A text from her letting him know a repair is needed leads to a very heated moment, a moment that is so much better than either had expected or daydreamed it would be. However, Cynthia’s anxiety causes overthinking, and her overthinking causes a misunderstanding. She tries to calm herself back to “normal,” but how she goes about doing that causes Nate to come to terms with what he had been trying to control. He is not going to let this happen, not at all, and he decides they are going to sit down and talk this out.
Everything is out in the open, which helps ease the tension between them. They also come to an agreement, that is to allow things to move forward. At first both agreed that thinking about anything long-term was not what they wanted, but now that is changing and rather quickly. This leads to another delicious and heated moment, only this time things were different, in a couple of ways.
Things progress and continue to be wonderfully consuming. Then Cynthia decides since this is the last of the time she will be spending with these friends she has become very close to, she will go to a party with them. It hits her hard, she doesn’t feel well and decides to go home. Tommy, one of her two besties, gives her a ride home. Once at home, Tommy surprises her with what he tells her, and what happens before she gets out of the car. Nate hears her get home, and witnesses this exchange, only this leads to another misunderstanding, only this time it takes a different direction than the last one.
Through her tears and analyzing the situation that occurred Cynthia realizes something has been missing, and she has the answer shortly afterwards. Nate is also realizing something, he can’t let this go, he needs to make things right. They make up, they also agree that neither want to be without each other, and Nate learns a little surprise as well.
They do get their happily ever after with an added bonus. They may have fought this from the beginning, but you enjoy going through this journey with them.
💥💥ONE HIGH OCTANE DELIGHT💥💥 Blazing britches! Kelly delivers this beautifully composed treat with all the heartache, misgivings and misunderstandings, serving up some simmering heat, steaming passion and sizzling desire, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Add some intense drama, captivating intrigue, underlying currents, electrifying suspense and nailbiting encounters ensue in epic proportions, launching this jewel to staggering heights. Arduous trials and challenging triumphs unfold while navigating the dramatic twists and intricate turns, baring the soaring up and agonizing downs, breathtaking in it's simplicity and beautiful in it's depth, blasting this piece of wonder to life brilliantly. The attraction and chemistry explode with such intensity, drawing our characters deeper, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, banter, interactions and charged atmosphere are realistic, complex and genuine with traits and qualities, add depth and diversity, transforming into loveable personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating one vivid backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Kelly, thanks for sharing this fiery block buster with us.
This is a story of how the relationship between Cynthia and Nate grows and changes over time. It is not as good as her first book but is better than the second. There are many pitfalls for Nate and Cynthia to navigate. He is about twenty years older and has had one failed marriage which has made him cynical about serious relationships. He is very happy and successful in his life and Cynthia is a very studious pre-med student determined to become a doctor. To do this she must move to NYC for medical school. They both desire the other but think the differences are insurmountable. Now add an unexpected pregnancy to the mix and what do you suppose happens. Will she terminate the pregnancy, give the baby up or keep it herself. How will Nate feel about this? It is an interesting story but I didn’t feel invested in either main character.
I give this 4.5 but rounded up. This is a story about Nate and Cynthia. Nate is older and the landlord and Cynthia is the tenant and younger. Cynthia is about to graduate and is a little bit of an over thinker. Nate and Cynthia are attracted to each other and relationship grows. This is some miscommunication but in the end it all works out. I loved the interaction between Nate and Cynthia they were likable and well suited to each other. It was a great book with a good story and great writing. I would recommend this book it was really enjoyable.

I give this a solid 3.5 stars.. it wasn’t what I was expecting, but it wasn’t bad. I was expecting it to be dirty, nasty spice, and it turned out to be kinda vanilla for my personal preference.. story line was good. It definitely could have been deeper. The author kept it kind of surface level. The spicy “daddy” parts were a little cringy, but not terrible.
Disclaimer*** I am a DARK DARK ROMANCE reader most of the time. That factors into my tastes and reviews. This book is marketed as a kinky book IMO when it’s actually more contemporary with some mild spice!
Kelly did a fantastic job with this book. There was so much heat between Nate and Cynthia. I think everyone gets self-conscious when starting any type of relationship. Rather its boyfriend and girlfriend, your engaged, getting married or just fwb or seeing where things go everyone has some insecurities. Nate and Cynthia are such relatable characters. They show us that when it comes to love obstacles can be dealt with. I highly, highly recommend this book.

This is the third book in the Daddy Knows Best Series This is Nate and Cynthia's story and is an older man, younger woman romance. This was actually a short book that packed in a lot of dialogue. The chemistry between the two was explosive. He was her landlord and older while she was on the fast-track to med school. He had a failed marriage and wasn't interested in going own that same path. Some drama, plenty of passion and a little surprise. The book was a quick read with a happy ending. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Liked the story. Some people are just magnets and gravitate to one another. I liked how he was patient with her and helped ground her and relax her with all her worries and stresses. Nate and Cynthia were adorable and they easily switched from their everyday to their roles in the bedroom. Which was good because you got to see that he respected her as a person and her intelligence and ability to make decisions and be independent. Loved how though they had ups and downs they came together to talk and work things out. Loved the end.
I loved this book I wish it had a longer ending tbh!! I would reread this book and I usually dont reread books at all! Its a more mild read but so good! I like my books more hot and heavy but I guess since Im a school nerd and have had this school life and being called a stick in the mud without the hot landlord haha!

I really loved this Kelly Myers book and her main characters, Cynthia a 20 year old college student, on her way to med school in New York, and Nate, her 40 year old neighbor and landlord. The storyline isn’t complex, but it is a sweet, sizzling one, that has a little too much angsty sections. It does, however have the most delightful HEA that had me sniffling. I love younger woman/older man books, and this one did not disappoint.
This story provided a great change from the dark romance I've been reading! The characters seemed a bit different than what I expected of a doctor candidate, and a male, business owner. But, that's okay because the steam made up for that! That was so "satisfying!!!" Thank you for this great "beach" read! Or, anytime really!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh what a beautiful heartwarming story about young love and an older man. I just though Cynthia and Nate were just perfect for one another. He is her landlord but little does she realise he has the hots for her. She is absolutely smitten with him but oh dear, if only they both knew. The story of Cynthia going from a young girl to a woman with Nate’s caring, loving ways. Loved it
Characters = 3/5 Plot = 4/5 Romance = 4/5 Mystery = 0/5 Action = 0/5 Darkness = 0/5 Humor = 0/5 Stars = 4 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Would I recommend this book = Yes Would I read future books by this author = Yes
This one was okay. Hot, decent plot, but characters were a tad annoying.
Cynthia over thinks everything. She tries to be the smart/responsible one. Nate is older but not wiser. Always thinks too much of his past marriage. He does become extremely loving and caring though.
Nate and Kelly are hot in this intriguing story. Nate had given up on relationships after his disastrous marriage. He gets what he wants, and it takes a college student to open up his heart again to love. Cynthia has no time for dating or relationships, but one bathroom mishap turns the tables for her and Nate and starts the beginning of a journey that will lead them to a happily ever after.

If I'm honest its not the most plot ridden book I've read. Its well written but is a little predictable and does at times verge on boring. However its an easy read and definitely not difficult to read. But if you want an exciting read then I don't believe its for you.
This book was incredible. If I could I would give it 10 stars. This older guy, younger woman romance is a perfect read. You will definitely fall in love with Nate. Definitely do yourself a favor and read this book.
