Anyone But You: A Charity Collection of Enemies-to-Lovers Romance Novels-February 16, 2021
Guy Problems Beta Read I really enjoyed this enemies to loves romantic comedy.
Lydia writes an advice column for an online magazine. Her boss wants her to take on a new role. Track Lydia will follow her through a fitness program for beginners.
Broderick is the guy who seems to have more women than any man Lydia has ever known. He plays loud music and distracts her from her work.
Two neighbours, two advice columns and two goals. Can Lydia and Broderick learn to get along and can it lead to more?
I found Guy Problems amusing, fun and heated. I’m a fan of this author and really enjoyed this book.
I had the chance to read another story by the author. So I already knew that the author sweetness enters your heart.
Harlow, Johnny, and Elijah are three friends who grew up together. Johnny and Elijah are like brothers, and there is a pact between them: sisters are off-limits. And so it has been, at least so far. Johnny and Elijah were always Harlow's custody angels during their childhood. When Harlow and Johnny's parents died in an accident, something changed. The two friends become more protective of Harlow to the point of being hateful, making her life, a real hell. After graduation, Harlow leaves for two years, living her free life, but when her employer announces that she will sell the place where she works, she feels compelled to go home. When Elijah sets his gaze no longer on a teen Harlow but on the woman she became, he begins to see her with different eyes. And the same goes for Harlow. Will the two take a chance? Or will Elijah keep free from the deal he made years ago with Johnny?

I was lucky enough to receive an arc of MY GUY PROBLEM from R.L. Kenderson. LOVE IT! I cannot wait for the rest of the book to be released so I can review the rest of the stories. I love that Lydia and Broderick had a dislike/secret like relationship at first. I love how he was there for her to help with her boss and that their relationship grew from there. This book had heat, chemistry and laughs. R.L never disappoints me. They really know how to keep you reading until you finish the book.
2/17 Update. I've read several of the books and I'm loving this set. They are all awesome, quick reads that will keep you warm in these cold winter days and make you laugh. Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes is another great read! Zoe and Damien help each other out by telling their families they are dating but in the end they find that they are just what each other needs and they complete each other. Great story.
Dickmatized was an awesome story too. I'll keep updating as I read.
In a collection of excellent stories: This Or That by Hope Irving stands out as areal romance! Too often when faced with same-sex couples, the romance gets lost in salacious voyeurism. in This or That, nothing could be further from the truth. Mike and Troy’s story unfolds organically, their encounters are steamy and sexy but relatable. I was hooked from the first page to the last and I can not wait to read more of their story in Omega Artist! 5 stars, so very well done
This reviews is specifically for This or That by Hope Irving. A great story with easily relatable characters that you fall in love with right off the bat. Troy and Mike are riding on different paths that suddenly meet one fateful night. A revenge kiss is all it takes for this story to take on a life of its own. An M/M about acceptance and unconditional love from family and friends, it will make you want to spend your free time cuddled up to these two extremely lovable characters. Great read!
To say I’m not my neighbor’s biggest fan is an understatement. He plays his music too loud, leaves his car in guest parking, and has a steady stream of women coming and going from his apartment all day.
Too bad I need his help for an assignment at work.
It’s not her fault I think with mine.
BRODERICK
I don’t understand why my neighbor dislikes me so much. I really want to return the feeling, but unfortunately, I can’t stop thinking about her with her clothes off. Even when I don’t want to.
When she gets cornered by her boss, I swoop in to save the day. Maybe this will get her to like me a little bit more, and if I’m lucky, we can be friends. Maybe she’ll stop hating me, and I’ll stop hating that I want her.
This or That is my first M/M romance novel. And what a way to "pop my cherry"! Troy and Mike's story is so beautiful! Troy is bisexual, but Mike has always been straight. Or so he thought. Women has never really satisfied him, but he thought he just hadn't met the right one yet. When Troy revenge kissed him, he woke up feelings Mike have never felt before. He struggles a bit with it, but he's unable to resist Troy. Their journey to get to know each other both personally and sexually is both beautiful and hot! I've never read M/M because it's not my cup of tea, but This or That made me curious and I ended up loving the story! If you want to read a M/M romance, This or That is your story!
This review is for This or That, Hope Irving’s contribution to the anthology.
Mike and Troy meet in the most unlikely of ways in a bar... and share a heated kiss. One that Mike’s sloshed mind doesn’t fully remember and can’t forget. Serendipity strikes and the two are on the same cruise, leading the chemistry to heat to a rolling boil. But there’s one problem: (Troy is bi and) Mike is straight... or is he?
Fighting labels, history, and the strong pull towards each other, they develop a strong connection and deep feelings without their conscious knowledge... and have lots of steamy times along the way.
The story flows effortlessly and makes the reader fall in love with the backstory of secondary characters from Omega Artist. Immersive, hot, touching, amusing, and more- this book has it all. Irving’s first M/M does not disappoint. I hope that she writes more in this subgenre because she really hit her stride with this one.
Troy has know he is bisexual for a long time. He lost his family over it, but he doesn't let that take over his life. He knows what he wants and he takes it. Mike has always dated woman. He thought that was what he wanted. Until a cowboy kissed him and everything changes. He is conflicted over his feeling and now he can't decide what he wants. But he know that he needs Troy
Hope captures the conflicted feeling of Mikes questioning of his sexuality perfectly. The back and forth between his choices and Troy's hurt at the confliction are well written and perfect. We only caught a glimpse of them in Omega Artist but in this book we get to know so much more about them. I cant get enough of these two.
Unswiped by Heather Lauren review
Beware the nerds
First off I need to say Parker is amazing. She is a complete dork and I aspire to be like her. Xander is cocky and self assured, but Parker is about to make him question all that. He's a smoke show for sure. I love the world Heather has made, and it's backed with laughs which I love. I hope there's more to come from this world.
What happens when a guy kisses another one to teach him a lesson, and said guy can't stop thinking about it??? This or That is the prequel of the cool couple we met in Omega Artist.
Troy and Mike meet at a bar where Mike is being not a gentleman and Troy decides to teach him a lesson. Time passes and fate brings them together in another setting, where a relationship blossoms between them. The road is not easy for them but at the end they get the Happy Ending they deserve.
Fine Line Rachel M Storm Really enjoyed this book considering funk I'm in. The chemistry and banter between Gage and Lori was amazing. As with all Storms books theres a perfect balance of humour and angst
Anyone But You is a book with 25 enemies to lovers romance novels by different authors. 100% of the proceeds are going to be donated to END THE BACKLOG! I read the novel “My Guy Problem by R. L. Kenderson. I loved it! It had a wonderful storyline with some fantastic characters! If all the other novels are as good as this one this book will be a fantastic deal! Definitely worth a try!
Hope Irving writes a story that puts the struggle of loving who you love and the conflict that people feel when they feel as though they are not part of the norm of society. The couple struggled when they realized they had feelings for each other that they tried to deny. Touching and heartwarming story that shows love is not black, whit, straight or gay it is simply love.
My Guy Problem by R.L. Kenderson, one of the books in the Anyone But You collection, brings the heat and the feels! It's a five star read you don't want to miss!
Broderick is definitely not the guy Lydia thinks he is...which is a cheating, self-centered, man-whore, dick. At least he's not like that anymore. LOL.
As his neighbor, Lydia sees multiple women leave Broderick's apartment at all hours of the day looking sweaty and slightly used. Broderick can't understand why his hottie neighbor hates him. She's even rude to his clients. He wants to dislike her but he'd rather picture her naked with his hands all over her.
Even when Lydia realizes her assumptions were ridiculous, she uses her negative impressions to shield herself against Broderick's sex appeal and charm. When Lydia needs Broderick's help, sparks fly. Well more like fireworks, boom! They give into their attraction and the sex is off the charts. But current secrets and past problems threaten to derail any chance at a future and a happily ever after.
My Guy Problem can be read as a standalone and you won't feel as if you're missing anything, but if you've read, My Cover Model in the A Love Like That series, you will appreciate Broderick's transformation from Travis's immature friend to a sexy book boyfriend. He is your newest book boyfriend!
R.L. Kenderson is a one click author for me and this book doesn't disappoint. It's the perfect book to relax and spend the day with! My Guy Problem and the entire Love Like That series are a must read!
I read My Guy Problem by R.L. Kenderson. It was fantastic! It's sweet and spicy and sweaty sexy! The humidity is high for this story! I couldn't put it down.
I haven't read all the stories included yet but if they're as good as this one, it will be awesome!
My review is for My Guy Problem by RL Kenderson. Once again I am blown away by this writing duo. Although this is a relatively quick read, so much happens in this book that I honestly didn’t think that I was missing out on a full length novel. I guess you could call this an enemies to lovers trope, but I don’t think Broderick & Lydia really hated each other. I think there were real feelings there and both - especially Lydia - didn’t really know how they felt about that. I liked how they ended up by spending more time with each other and the laughs that followed. What Lydia was feeling was something I could relate to very well. R & L can do no wrong in my opinion and I look forward to reading more from these two in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Lots of good stories - but a majority end abruptly with “more to come”
****Anyone but You by Various: a lot of stories in this collection. I read a lot of these stories and most (of those that I read) were good. However, a majority seemed to end abruptly with “more to come”. My reviews below for the stories that I did read.
*****My Guy Problem by R. L. Kenderson: Well written and entertaining This storyline is enjoyable, with a nice build, and a good pace, as well as relatable/likable characters with chemistry. The steam level is medium and compliments the story nicely.
*****Dickmatized by Leela Lou Dahlin: sexy and sweet This book was not what I expected, and I loved it! Sweet, snarky, funny, sexy, and wholesome, with relatable characters and wonderful family and friends. Very good!
***Grade A A$$hole by Vanessa Booke: an ok read For some reason I just couldn’t get into this book. It was ok, it just didn’t hold my attention, so I skimmed a lot.
***I’ll Never Stop by DC Renee: sweet and predictable A little too sweet, and predictable, but a good story overall with a nice HEA.
****Cloud Storm by Susana Mohel: Enjoyable! This story is all over the board, but it kept my interest. Relatable characters, a good pace, some steam, and a good storyline with a nice HEA.
****Hot Cop by Aubrey Valentine: Good! The chemistry is good, the friendships are fun, and the storyline is entertaining. The characters are relatable and all wraps up with a nice HEA, and a cliffhanger for the next book/couple in this series. (Otherwise, this story is a standalone.)
****Virtually Yours by Ja’Nese Dixon: Good This story has intrigue, conspiracy, danger, murder..., and a love story. A nice chemistry between the characters, friends who may be foes, and a HEA for the love story. But questions remained unresolved, so the ending left me hanging. Officially “The end.... for now”.
****Love Me Never by Lizzie James: Two CEOs. An intrigued bad boy and a cautious women who wants to keeps things strictly business. Some push and pull, unanswered questions, and a promising relationship. Ends abruptly with a HFN, with many unanswered questions. More of their story promised for 2022.
****Shaggy Maggie by Tiffani Clark Kemp: hated the ending I was really into this book. Twins love the same woman. One has a history with her, one is engaged to her. Then add in a crazy stalker/murderer. This book is good, but messy — and I really really hated the ending....
****Fine Line by Rachel M. Storm: sweet and entertaining A love hate love story that is fun and sweet, with a nice HEA.
****Love Like This, Hate Like That by Stacy McWilliams: good, but. Lots of angst and drama. Secrets and heartbreak. Friends... those that have your back and those that stab you in the back. Love... and hate. Good pace and interesting characters, with a nice pace. But. Not the full novel (which is promised for later 2021). -PTators
I was fortunate enough to read an ARC of My Guy Problem by R.L. Kenderson. I give this book 4 stars instead of 5 because whilst enjoyable, I devoured it immediately, I felt that something was missing. It was like eating cotton candy. It is incredibly delicious and you love it but it doesn't fill you up. Perhaps what was missing is just that I wanted there to be more to their story. Maybe a bit more conflict. The story follows Lydia, an everyday woman who writes an advice column for an online magazine. Her boss forces her into an assignment that she really does not want which leads to her working with her neighbor whom she finds attractive but completely despises. Hate turns to lust which eventually leads to love. I do recommend this book as it was a delight and very saucy. I hope that future books in this series revisit these characters so I can get that second helping to my literary meal.
100% of the proceeds will benefit End the Backlog! (Untested Rape Kits)
This anthology was only out for a brief time. There were several new to me authors. Leora Gonzales is the author I follow and read. Her story, Taco Flavored Kisses, was good. It's available on it's own now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091P849JQ/...
THIS REVIEW IS FOR MY GUY PROBLEM BY R.L. KENDERSON
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
Lydia lives next door to Broderick. She misinterprets him because of something he said at a party about a dip she made.
The hate relationship they have makes for tension between the two, although it’s not hate on Broderick’s part. I love the way the two go through situations that arise because of Lydia’s boss, her niece and nephew, and Broderick’s friends.
Love wins out and relationship advice comes when needed. The authors wrote a story to keep the readers rooting for a working relationship between Lydia and Broderick and happy that they get a HEA.
While I have not read the whole thing as I received a copy of My Guy Problem to review I am giving it 5 stars. I am in love with this part of this collection. Broderick is so dang sexy and the way he helps Lydia train is so funny and flirty. This book is a great enemies to lovers story Of neighbors who get on each others nerves but can not fight their attraction to each other. Looking forward to reading some of the other stories in this collection now. I am leaving my voluntary honest review.
Sigh......Finn and Eliza's relationship was an enemies to lovers story. When Eliza was young she had a horrible experience in school. It shaped her future. In the present she is a model. She is well known and needs a bodyguard. In walks a blast from her past, one she hates.
I had a love/hate relationship with Finn. One minute I wanted to kiss him and the next minute I wanted to punch him. What I ddi love was the banter between Eliza and Finn. As they spend more time with each other they can't deny the attraction between them. In true DC Renee form she always throws in a twist you don't see coming.
Anyone But You: A Charity Collection of Enemies-to-Lovers Romance Novels Is a very nicely done collection of romantic tales by a group of talented writers. My favorite in the collection was My Guy Problem by R.L. Kenderson. Mostly because the leads here, Lydia and Broderick are so perfectly crafted and just, wow, work together so well by the end despite their rough start. A great enemies-to-lovers tale, and I loved seeing their romance develop and would highly recommend this collection based on that story alone.
My review is for RL Kenderson's short story: My Guy Problem. An enemy to lovers story, the sexiness and the laughs are off the chart. Lydia is an online advice columnist who is coerced into training for a triathlon. To her embarrassment and surprise, the neighbour she suspected was a man**ore, is actually a personal trainer. Will her courage allow her to do something completely out of her comfort zone? Will the charms of the written word help to convince her to take another look? Will a second chance allow her to look anew at the reason behind her animosity?
This review is specifically for My Guy Problem by R.L. Kenderson
I absolutely love Broderick and Lydia! They are neighbors that can't stand each other. A few situations force them to be into each other's proximity Little by little their preconceived notions stripped away and as that happens the chemistry between these two build! The story sucks you in from the beginning and before you know it you are on the last page! A wonderful read! Highly recommend!
