Zia Peters has had enough upheaval for three lifetimes. Now all she wants is a chance to get back on track—without the distraction of a man in her life. Still, when old friend Jeremy Aquilon offers his spare bedroom and a temporary job, she jumps at the chance. After all, Jeremy has seen her at her worst, and vice versa—no danger of romance there!
Except Jeremy is hardly the boy she remembers. In fact, he might be the most handsome man she's ever met, and her whole body knows it.
Can she convince him that she's changed? And more important, can she convince herself?
Laurie Paige grew up on a farm in Kentucky, four miles from the Tennessee border, with four older brothers and two older sisters. Before she started school her family moved to town. That is when she discovered the library. She met her husband, Bob, in the Sweet Shop. She has a degree in mathematics and works as a computer engineer.
This book was not an amazingly written book, but it was well written, and felt like more than a 3. It was a calm but beautiful book, had a poetic metaphors / imagery every 2 pages or so, was moving, and vividly depicted the culture which I relate to. And sometimes that's what I prefer. All in all, even though I rate it a 3, it felt like a 4 or 5 to me. If you want a soft story in the midwest, this is a good book.
