Auch im vierten Band hat der kleine Detektiv Conan wieder spannende Fälle zu lösen. Diesmal geht es u.a. um einen Mord in einem Museum sowie um die Suche nach einem Goldschatz.
Es hat mir wieder viel Spaß gemacht, Conan zu begleiten. Die Fälle waren sowohl spannend als auch zum Teil humorvoll. Die Zeichnungen sind einfach, aber ausdrucksstark. Ich freue mich, dass ich noch so viele spannende Fälle vor mir habe und werde die Reihe auf jeden Fall weiterverfolgen!

Favorite Case: Museum Owner Murder Case
**Warning: I loved noticing some differences between the anime and manga. I know changes were inevitable with anime adaptations, but I just want to mention it. Those mentions would probably appear in most, if not all, of my Detective Conan reviews**
Museum Owner Murder Case was one of the few cases where Kogoro wasn't in his usual 'Sleeping Kogoro' state when solving the case, though it was still Conan who's leading him to the truth by dropping innocent clues. Among the three cases, this is what I liked the most since it was one of the 'framing other suspect' case where Conan should prove that the number one current suspect was not really the culprit. It was obvious how inconvenient it was to solve crimes in his child state but I always find it so cute to see how he sometimes used that opportunity in his advantage to solve the cases.
The Bullet-Train Bombing case involved the Black Organization. Again, Conan used the advantage of being a child to find who's holding the briefcase with a bomb inside. But that also held him back from saving the whole train from exploding since no one believed a child. But because of his quick-thinking, he was still able to dispose the bomb before it exploded. **The case was consisted of a few changes compared to the anime episode. In the anime, Gin and Vodka weren't really the men in black in the episode. They were just some random men in black clothes that Conan thought were with the Black Organization. As I also remember, Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko were also in the anime episode, but in manga, they didn't appear. But the case itself, it was the same.**
The Code Sheet Case with the Detective Boys was kind of a child-friendly case that fits perfectly for them. Though it still involved dangerous thieves, it was not as 'bloody' as the other cases. Here, Conan used a lot of his brain cells just to crack the secret code leading to the 'treasure'. Even he took a few trial and error to find it. And I loved his reaction when he finally solved it. That laugh uggh! **There was also a scene where I remember that wasn't in the anime episode of this but I have seen in one of the Detective Conan movie. That was the cola scene between Ran and Shinichi. I remember it because I just finished watching the Captured in Her Eyes movie where the scene appeared, but in the different location and situation.**

Setelah sebelumnya menghadapi Kasus Ksatria Baju Zirah yang pembunuhannya memuat pesan dari karya seni lukisan, sekaligus menjadi kasus pertama di seri keempat ini. Conan bertemu kembali dengan komplotan jubah hitam dalam perjalanan kereta api. Pertemuan tanpa sengaja ini, mengungkap transaksi emas. Mengerikannya, komplotan Jubah Hitam menukar emasnya dengan bom tanpa disadari oleh lawan transaksinya, dan dalam waktu yang telah ditentukan akan meledak.
Conan yang memasang penyadap di meja komplotan jubah hitam mengetahui rencana tersebut. Hanya saja, Conan harus menemukan siapa lawan transaksi mereka yang memegang bom sebelum meledak menghancurkan kereta api yang ditumpanginya. Lagi-lagi, kesempatan mendapatkan informasi lebih banyak tentang Jubah Hitam harus lenyap.
Emas juga menjadi benda incaran pada kasus ketiga, tapi kali ini Conan harus memecahkan kode rahasia menuju persembunyian emas. Rumitnya, Mitsu, Genta dan Ayumi tidak mau ketinggalan; dan mereka harus berhadapan dengan komplotan pengincar emas yang sesungguhnya. Diantara ketiga kasus kali ini, Kasus Ksatria Baju Zirah yang menarik karena pelaku mempersiapkan aksi dan lokasi pembunuhan dengan apik.
Seri kali ini lebih bervariasi kasusnya, pembunuhan, menemukan bom dengan menebak lawan transaksi komplotan jubah hitan dan memecahkan sandi, jadinya tidak terasa monoton.

Sinceramente no recordaba que esta historia fuera TAN infantil. Es más, incluso revisé las reviews viejas (ya que carece de sentido releer los tomos anteriores) y por lo visto me gustaba muchísimo.

De más está decir que los casos (3 en este volumen) son bastante insulsos: se resuelven rapidito porque no hay mucho trasfondo, las pistas suelen ser bastante obvias, aunque por momento rebuscadas.
Siendo una historia infantil supongo que está bien que los casos sean de esta manera...
Si bien tengo algunos sentimientos encontrados (?) que me gusta que no me gusta que me embola que no me embola, al mismo tiempo estoy un poco ansiosa por ver la evolución a lo largo de esos MIL CAPÍTULOS Y CONTANDO. Ya que se emite desde los 90's.
Me gustaría llegar al momento en que Conan devela su verdadera identidad a Rachel y el momento en que vuelve a su cuerpo original (deseos vigentes desde el día 1 en que empecé a leer esta historia).
Tengo como objetivo leer al menos 4 tomos este año (o sea, hasta el Vol. 7), veamos qué tal termina mi relación con este manga.

Well, this was fun.
The volume includes three cases. The first of which I really liked and if it had been fleshed out a little more, I could have adored. However, as it was, the case was solved a little too fast and in my opinion was missing the final spark.
The second case was really underwhelming to me! Seeing Gin and Wodka got my hopes up, but their actions were .. well .. underwhelming. I get that the antagonists can’t be overpowered compared to our protagonist’s possibilities, but with members acting like that - how did the black organization not demolish themselves long ago? Shinishi wasn’t at his best either. Considering the high stakes of the case, the actions from both sides felt too accidental for my liking.
The third case, however, was amazing. Detective Boys for the win! I loved how these kids were determined to solve their case and find the treasure. Though it was a relatively short case, it didn’t feel too easy and I had a great time, which resulted in me leaving the volume with a positive feeling and overall rating it comparatively high :)

Das Cover ist wiedereinmal unglaublich schön.
Ich liebe den Zeichenstil und die Cover der Mangareihe.
Die Geschichten sind wieder herrlich spannend.
Der Fall im Museum war auch wirklich schaurig und blutig.
Ich konnte gar nicht aufhören zu lesen.
Der zweite Fall ist mit den süßen, verrückten Grundschülern, sie kommen einem geheimen Schatz auf die Spur.
Ich kann den Manga nur jedem empfehlen!

Un poco más explícitamente machista que los anteriores, de ahí las 4 estrellas, y porque el misterio con los amiguitos y la amiguita del cole no ha sido tan interesante.
Nota: Al final de cada tomo vienen unas viñetas con el autor y los que imagino que son el resto del equipo que trabaja en el manga y no me gustan nada. No me hacen ninguna gracia y algunas ni las entiendo.

And we are back with the shorter cases format, which end up every time being my favorite compared to the volumes with longer ones.
In here I have to say there were some very good chapters, many shortly became my favorites this far.
This volume was for me the best one yet, the perfect mix of adventure, mindbending material and plot development, considering that the main story goes forward in here as well.

Di kasus pertama, pembunuhan atas kematian Pak Manaka di Museum Beika, Museum Abad Pertengahan, Tokyo dan terekam oleh CCTV Museum. Kejadiannya mengerikan, tapi yang kuherankan, kok anak bertubuh kecil kelas 2 SD seperti Conan begitu leluasanya dibiarkan menonton rekaman sadis tersebut oleh pihak penyidik, malah mereka nonton bareng pula. Apalagi dalam rekaman tersebut, Pak Manaka yang ditebas habis-habisan menggunakan pedang itu cukup sadis, sampai ia merenggang nyawanya. Disini saya pribadi kurang setuju dengan mas Aoyama Gosho. Sungkem, mas.
Di kasus kedua, adalah detik-detik bom waktu yang disimpan dalam koper yang terjadi di Rel Kereta Api ketika Paman Migure, Ran dan Conan sedang dalam kereta melakukan perjalanan. Disini kasusnya terpecahkan oleh Conan sendiri, meskipun dalam perjalan tersebut Conan bersama Detektif Migure dan Ran. Disini Conan bertemu dengan Laki-Laki Berjubah Hitam. Mereka yang sedang transaksi menggunakan bom waktu akhirnya diketahui Conan, kode nama masing-masing mereka Jin dan Wocker. Namun dengan tubuh Conan yang kecil ini, kedua Laki-Laki Berjubah Hitam ini tidak mencurigai Conan yang adalah Shinichi, akibat obat mereka, yang kejadiannya ada di Vol. 1 sebelumnya.
Yang menggelikan disini adalah, Conan tidak bisa berbuat banyak karena Ran yang menjaganya 4 mata di kereta. Setiap gerak-geriknya langsung diawasi Ran. Ada saja kekonyolan Conan untuk bisa lari dari pengawasan Ran. Apalagi dalam momen ini, ia sedang bergulat dengan bom waktu yang sebentar lagi akan meledak dalam kereta dan pula bertemu dengan Laki-Laki Berjubah Hitam yang membuat badannya mengecil seperti ini!
Di kasus ketiga, upaya penemuan koin emas melalui serangkaian simbol yang disandikan. Conan bersama teman-temannya, Genta, Ayumi dan Mitsu mencoba memecahkannya. Kode simbol tersebut diperoleh mereka berempat ketika sedang jalan-jalan bersama Ran di Menara Tokyo. Disini pula terbentuk Detektif Cilik oleh mereka berempat.
Ada sedikit melankolis ketika Ran mengijinkan mereka bermain disekitar tempat hiburan itu. Ia kesepian dengan kesendiriannya di tempat seramai itu dan tiba-tiba mengingat Shinichi, dan merindukannya. Ketika asik melamun, Conan datang membawakan minuman dingin dan menjahilinya sama seperti kebiasaan Shinichi yang biasa dilakukan terhadapnya, menempelkan minuman dingin di pipinya saat ia melamun.
Bagi saya, disini cukup dalam dan hangat bagi Ran.

I fully expected this to be a 3 star after the first two cases - but once again the detective boys are here to safe the day and single-handedly added a star ♥
The fist case is good - there is nothing wrong with it. I like the vibe and the culprit a lot - but sadly it simply didn't really do anything for me. (The fact that I know it by heart probably didn't help)

The second case was pretty underwhelming - but not bad by any means. We got to see Gin and Wodka again which was neat - but everything afterwards was pretty rushed and sort of out of character (a little tiny bit. I just think Shinichi would've delt with the situation much better than he did).

The third case was a detective boys case and it was incredible. I love them all so much and this one especially showcased Ayumi ♥ It had stakes. It had a treasure-hunt. It had a badass Ran moment. It had Shinichi acting realistically. + I love their dynamics so much. This one just upped everything. I also have the most warm and nostalgic feelings towards it. (In this case knowing it by heart didn't hinder my experience)

Case 3 was the longest as well so I felt like 4 Stars was pretty appropriate in the end.

CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT CASE (an all time fave ♥)

This volume contains 3 cases.
The first is a mystery killing at a museum by someone in a suit of armor, done to mimic a painting in the gallery. I laughed when I read that one because it reminded me of a joke in the previous volume (at the end, in the creator's comics section) where the punchline was that people are less interested in finding the killer when they disliked the victim. In this case, the murdered guy was a jerk who broke his promise to keep the museum open after he bought it, and was instead going to turn it into a hotel. I thought to myself, "Case closed! Time to play soccer in the park or something".
The second case has to do with the men in black and a dangerous situation that Conan learns about on the train. The third case is a Conan & Elementary School Friends mystery about Italian treasure (and Italian gangsters hot on their tail!).
I love this series, but personally I don't think this volume is up to Gosho Aoyama's usual standards. Normally I'm happy to suspend disbelief for the goofy murder-mystery cases, but cases 2 and 3 were a pretty big stretch and I felt like the filler wasn't as enjoyable as usual. Okay overall but not my favorite volume, so I'm looking forward to the next one.

In Vol. 4 of this manga, we get the first real case of the Detective Boys, when a case of switched bags drops a treasure map in the kids lap.
Conan, as a teen in the body of a grade schooler, is initially not impressed by their childish guesses at its meaning, but eventually becomes more and more drawn in as the puzzle proves formidable even for him. This is a dynamic we'll see repeated a few times throughout the series, though it's strongest here, as Conan's still relatively new to the whole "kid's body" thing.
I love the dynamic between him and the Detective Boys though - they force him to take a different view of the world around him that I think can help in his deductions.
This volume also had a somewhat meh episode regarding a murder in an art museum and a fun three-parter with a bomb on a train.

How is this series so good? Oh I know. I love mysteries and being an elementary school teacher with a soon to be third grade son, I love the fact that Conan is a first grader.
This series does a fantastic job equalizing plot advancement and fun filler stories. Some stories are bonafide murder mysteries, but I thoroughly enjoy Conan running around with his first grade friends from school. Their dynamic is hilarious. On the outside he has to act like a happy go lucky 6/7 year old. But on the inside he's a high schooler and the clever ways he has to act like an somewhat aloof kid makes me laugh. (Bwa ha ha!)
The violence is HELLA graphic, but that's Japan for ya.

Pertama dibeli dan dibaca pada tahun 1997.
Di sini Conan/Shinichi bertemu lagi dengan dua orang berjubah hitam yang membuatnya jadi anak SD, dan akhirnya Conan tahu nama kode mereka. Sayangnya waktu pertama kali diterjemahkan, sepertinya translatornya belum ngeh kalau nama kode para anggota komplotan berjubah hitam terdiri dari jenis minuman keras, sehingga nama Gin dan Vodka pun diterjemahkan jadi Jin dan Wocker.
Edisi yang kubaca ini adalah edisi cetak ulang, jadi... seharusnya sih kalau mau kesalahan ini bisa dikoreksi pada cetak ulangnya. Tapi ternyata tidak ada yang mau mengoreksi kesalahan yang mungkin dianggap sepele begini, ya...
