A little ghost story, and little thrill, and a lot of slow burn. Loved it. But am wondering what is with the author putting twins/triples/ect in each book for the couple to have. That's alot of child care to end a book with o.o
This story is everything you would expect from Annabelle Winters. Drama, madness, twist, turns, crazy, chaos, sweet with some darkness and insta love like no other. There is a great flow to the storyline and I love the interaction between the characters. Una and Ulrich have a bad beginning. He's the new landlord of the building that Una lives in and she's 6 months behind in rent and he want double the rent money. Una is an impulsive, reckless, undisciplined, compulsive spender. Ulrich is a spendthrift guy and with his upbringing you understand why. He works hard for what he's got with no help from anyone much less a mother that was never around. It so fun when the candles in his mother's apartment start to light on their own. Then other candles light up and start a fire. The to mother's are fighting over the lives of their children. Una's mother is an angry ghost and Ulrich's mother is the happy ghost. You'll understand when you read this story. In this book we meet Una and Ulrich. Ulrich and Una are both at the funeral of Ulrich's mother. While there Ulrich finds not only Una but another couple that are behind on rent. When they all return he tells them he is doubling the rent and they have a week to catch up their rent or get out. During this time he is tiding up his mother's apartment and finds a second will. This one gives the building to Una not Ulrich. After showing it to her they agree to sleep on it and make a decision with the lawyer in the morning. Will this bring them together and give them a shot at a HEA or will this drive a bigger wedge between?
This is another amazing hit by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will keep you guessing to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This is the 6th story in the Curvy for Keeps Series. We have another off the beaten path of a love story with some crazy madness and drama that shows you love can come between two unexpected strangers. Una lost her mother years ago and lives above her means and never pays her rent on time that has lived a sheltered life in many ways. Ulrich was given up at birth and learned to fight for what he needed to become successful and is very wealthy but does not show it in his appearance or clothing. When he learns that his mother leaves him an apartment building he intend ps to sell it and walk away. These two have a connection that develops quickly and when those no longer with them shows how they feel about them being together gives you a twist involving candles you never see coming. Ulrich isomer determined man who does what is necessary for the woman he wants and loves. When the dark and light fight for their wishes Ulrich and Una take matters into their own hands. Una wasnt great with money to say the least, she spent more than she earned but never learned from her mistakes, until the kind old land lady passed away and the new landlord wasnt as forgiving. Ulrich wasnt sad to see his mother go, she had left him at an orphanage and he didn't even know she was still alive till the lawyer informed him and of the building she owned. It was a good location but the way she did things with her building was outdated and going to change, starting with doubling the rent. Ulrich knows the tenets wont be happy least of all the bombshell Una, she lives in her own world or riches. When another will comes to light it seems there are forces from beyond pulling Una and Ulroch together but also one determined to pull them apart. A well written short quirky romance with laughter and desires and a twist you dont suspect!

Una is living in an apartment when Ulrich takes over after his mother passes. Una is behind on rent and Ulrich isn't willing to budge on letting her slide by without paying it like his mother did. Not only that, but he is raising the rent for everyone and then selling the place. But his mother has other ideas and Ulrich and Una are pushed together.
So, we have several things going on throughout the story. We have Ulrich not liking Una because he sees her as selfish and greedy since she buys expensive things and is behind on her rent. Next we have his mothers two wills, one leaving the apartments to Ulrich and the other to Una. Then we have her spirit haunting them and pushing them together, all while Una's dead mother is haunting them too while trying to push them apart. That seems a lot for less than 100 pages and little detail on how we got from point A to point Z.

The story line, plot and idea are well thought out and interesting with a few twists and turns and surprising revelations and the character's and their personalities are well done and developed but unfortunately neither Ulrich and Una are very likable but for some reason they work as a couple. Ulrich is a jerk, and he proves it when he increases the rent on the building he inherited and he is overly frugal at times, while Una is a irresponsible, impulsive shopaholic that over spends on expensive stuff she does not need instead of paying the rent. I was happy at the end that they grew as individuals as well as a couple. The unexpected twist when both of their mothers get involved is something I did not expect, but it was a quick totally over the top fun read.

5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy novella Late for the Landlord: Curvy for Keeps book 6: Una and Ulrich By Annabelle Winters and this review was given freely. A little mystical and steamy virgin romance just in time for the Halloween season containing two mothers who continue to battle over their children's relationships from the grave. Floundering out of work actress Una has an addiction for buying expensive things and never has money for rent but Una's luck runs out when her indulgent landlady dies and her long lost son Ulrich decides to collect all rents past due. Warning: 18+ recommended. The opening is a bit brutal and callous but the ending is an over the top happy one.

A really nice Halloween romance with special spirit mamas causing havoc on their children.
This was an very interesting story. From the start I couldn't see how Ulrich and Una was going to get together. Ulrich had so much pain and unhappiness and it showed big time when dealing with the tenants he inherited from his mother. They got off on a real rocky start but once Ulrich start understanding what was going on around him, he started to melt a bit and was open to Una's quirkiness and high maintenance personality. Una also was drawn to the broody handsome "ogre" as she called him. Their coming together was "explosive" to say the least and they had a really special HEA.

A huge twist Una and Ulrich couldn’t be more different as far as being financially responsible. She spends her money impulsively leaving her none for the necessities like rent. On the other hand Ulrich is the complete opposite. As her landlord he is planning on raising the rents on the building and doing some upgrades. The supernatural plays an integral part in this story that drastically affects not only them but also the other tenants. This book was so different that I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished it. You'll understand what I mean when you read it for yourself. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The story seems almost Halloweenish. I’m not really sure. But every time these two would get together lightbulbs with flash or explode. Well maybe not explode burn out. That was there for street lights, refrigerator lights, just lights. I think the story alone went through 100 lightbulbs just to prove a point. It was fun to read With these two characters learn about themselves as the lights go popping in flashing and even blinking. Your love is strong enough to overcome the seemingly paranormal activities. If I missed anything else it would ruin the story. No cliffhanger

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Today's book is the letter 'U'. As in Una and Ulrich. Two very different people about to enter into a love match, Annabelle Winters style. Though they start off not understanding each other, they find more in common than is different. I am enjoying Ms. Winters style of storytelling because I can never predict what will take place in the story other than that the hero and heroine will fall in love. The journey that they take to finding love is filled with plenty of the crazy tricks, trip ups and turns that a story can take under Ms Winters' hand. I am enjoying the suprises that each story brings.
This is a great book from the Curvy for keeps series. The story is about Ulrich and Una. Una is very irresponsible and actually throws her money away, so she has no money left to pay for the rent, which she has not paid for many months.
Ulrich meets Una at his mother's funeral and finds out that he is the new landlord.
I love the characters and the chemistry between them and that you are drawn into the story of Una and Ulrich.
This book is definitely recommended !!!!

Quick, over-the-top and steamy, this is another entertaining entry in this not for everyone series. In the end liked Una and Ulrich as a couple but individually I can't say that I was a fan of either one of them. Una really grated on my nerves with her irresponsibility and what I felt was her "Mean Girl" attitude and Ulrich just came across as a total jerk. The story is pretty intense and offers up drama, tension and emotion. Not on my favorite list from this author but it was an OK book. I'm electing to post a candid review.
Ulrich is intrigued by the expensively dressed Una when he first lays eyes at her at his mother’s funeral. Una can’t take her eyes off Ulrich’s commanding presence & even with the threat of him evicting her, she just can’t stay away. Strange occurrences keep throwing them together and when Una’s life is in danger, Ulrich will do whatever it takes to save her as he knows he can never let go of the woman who has stolen his heart.

Late for the Landlord is the sixth book in the Curvy for Keeps series. It is the story is nicely written, has an engaging story-line and good characters. The story has drama and craziness along with being sweet and dirty filthy, and a number of twists and turns. Add in some supernatural spirits and this makes a great Halloween story. I enjoyed reading this story and it is a nice addition to this series.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I’m being SUPER generous and gonna give this a 2⭐️! And the reason I’m being THAT generous is because up until the fire happened I didn’t mind the story.
Yes it was cheesy and yes it was INSANE but I didn’t mind it.
However everything that happened after that…. Yeah I didn’t like one single bit!!
I could not stand the FMC!
And I’ve never read a spicy scene that was so unsexy!! Like it was actually a turn off!!
And don’t even get me started on the ridiculous things that were meant to make sense but didn’t whatsoever!!
Wow, this book was not what I thought it would be. It is Una and Ulrich and their story. They meet at a funeral and Ulrich said he wanted the rent caught up and doubled it. Urlich finds a second will. This story had twists and turns and all sorts of surprises. I loved the characters and the way the story flowed. This is just a great book.

This book is definitely a ghostly tale of love and addiction. The way how two lives, although raised differently, still have the same similarities.
Loved it and looking forward to seeing what the Viking has to offer.

It was ok It is a paranormal romance, which seems to start off normally and then evolves surrounded by ghosts. The story is simple, a little hot. In the end, the characters are quite cute in the middle of the events, even the main character Ulrich who didn't seem very pleasant at first. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Late for the Landlord is book six in the series Curvy for Keeps by author Annabelle Winters. Entertaining read and keeping with Annabelle’s style this one will be a hit. Just a heads up - you’ll need to be very open minded. But of course if you love Winter’s work then that’s a no brainer. Enjoy!!

Be still my heart! This the paranormal romance like no other! This novel made me laugh in the best of times. Ulrich and Una are like no other couple, having to battle with the other side for the chance to live the lives they always wanted, mommy’s little girl is gonna have to grow up eventually.
The author has given us characters that, luckily, have open minds. Ulrich and Una are drawn together but something/someone is trying to rule their lives.
