Heartbreak, grief, falling in love, falling out of love, friendships, disastrous sex anecdotes - this book is filled with everything you don't want to ask your mom
From the duo behind the chart-topping podcast Things You Can't Ask Yer Mum, this book is a deep-dive into the ups and downs of life. Lizzy and Lindsey share the twists and turns of their own experiences in their usual hilariously honest style, offering reassurance for all the questions you just might not be able to ask your Mom.
The book embodies what Lindsey and Lizzy have had through their friendship; the ability to honestly pass on their own experiences in life in order to help the other. With never-before-heard anecdotes and bite-sized chunks of content to return to, this valuable book will be a friend to you - one that shares reassuring stories of losing virginity using a blueberry-flavored condom, losing friends and losing inhibitions. It's a book for anyone, at any stage of life.
Having never listened to the author's podcast I was not sure if the content would be relatable to me - I did a little digging and 1 of them is around my age whilst the other is a little younger.
I was completely wrong - this book is a little gem.
It covers topics that I know I have discussed with my friends over the years and reading that most other women have the same insecurities and worries as we do, even now that I am older made reading this book worth it.
I loved the sense of lasting friendship that shone through from both women's entries and I thought the letters they wrote to there younger selves were lovely. A brilliant touch.
I devoured this book in one sitting but it's something that you can go back to when you feel the need to explore one of the topics again as they proved hints and tips to help through lots of different situations.
A firm 4 star read and I may even pull up the podcast for a listen.
This book was so disappointing - I thought this would suit me to a T - love hearing anecdotes from women about life - particularly women my age. They're usually really light-hearted and just a pleasure to read. However, this book was just so dull. It was really lacking substance. I didn't find it funny or profound - didn't like this at all!
This book was absolutely hilarious and phenomenal. It made me laugh, tear up and laugh some more.
Lizzy and Lindsey talk about some very good topics in quite a lot of depth and detail, the chapters might possibly answer some of your questions regarding, grief, sex, heartbreak and more!
The girls put a splendid book together with ‘how-to’ guides, Q&A’s on each topic and more.
It was a fun, lighthearted book which caught my attention from the beginning.
I’m so thankful to have been apart of this tour which has been kindly arranged by Anne!
WHERE WAS THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER?!!! I bloody loved this rollercoaster of emotions book- I laughed, cried, and cried from laughing and laughed some more! I have never listened to their podcasts before but now have some serious catching up to do! Thanks ladies for the sweet and purely joyful read- your philosophy and outlook on life is lovely and everything I aspire to be!
I devoured this is one sitting and it was a pleasure! I am the same age as one of the authors and it really felt like an extension of the chat you would have with friends, the book speaks to being in your late 20’s beautifully. Immediately relatable and emotional read!
Love Lindsey & Lizzy and this book is such a comforting, easy, real and funny read that I’ll definitely go back to. Why would you not read a book with a segment titled “Dating tips from a person who gets a rash on their neck when someone flirts with them”?
Disappointing. Literary agents and publishers should stop giving influencers book deals. This is more suited for teenagers or women in their early 20’s.
Nice enough and a few different topics chosen for discussion.
I hadn’t listened to the podcast before reading, so perhaps the letters the authors wrote to each other make more sense/feel more meaningful to those who have. I just found it a bit odd - a window in to personal things, especially when they were praising each other for various personality traits or behaviours. 😅
lizzy and lindsey are the big sisters i never had. i cried and laughed and just felt completely happy whilst reading this book and i will definitely come back to it for advice over the course of my life.
Hab während dem Lesen alle möglichen Gefühle verspürt, ich hab gelacht & geweint, die Ehrlichkeit und Verletzlichkeit geschätzt. Ein wundervoller kleiner Ratgeber und genauso gut wie der Podcast!
