What a fantastic story!! Sexy, sweet and safe. It grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go!
HERO who doesn’t love a sexy vampire? Kieran was a great hero. Strong, alpha head over heels in love at first sight. He has waited his whole life to find his consort and he wasn’t letting anything take her from him
HEROINE Thana was a great heroine. She had strength but she wasn’t an alpha female. She was open minded and listened to what Kieran had to say. It was refreshing

2.5 smut-scale stars!
Kieran is a daywalker vampire and Thana is a human who has been fated to be a daywalker's consort. In this case, Thana is fated to be Kierans. Thana finds herself mixed up with a nightwalker (a bad vampire) and that's how she runs into Kieran.
This is short and smutty. I'm rating it on this scale because overall there isn't much depth and substance to the story or the world. It's just a short, guilty pleasure story.
Davenport sets up for other characters to get their stories and we get an extended epilogue for Kieran and Thana. If you're in the mood for something like this, go for it.

Thana is a rich girl who is poor because her aunts a money hungry bitch.. who steals her money. (I really wish theytaught the aunt a lesson) forces her to a suprise arranged marriage but that doesnt stop her from running and into the arms of Kieran. Their relationship goes from 0 to 100 and she took him being a vampire well and took care of her nightwalker problem.
I do wanna read the other brothers we got a snip of the next couple.

This was a super quick and sweet read- I really enjoy these OTT paranormal novellas, just because of how much uncomplicated fun they are- you don't really get into the details of the lore/ story, but rather enjoy a quick unproblematic romance.
There were definitely some weird word choices 💀, but all in all I really liked this one.

Hace mucho que no leía libros sobre vampiros pero este de FD, me encanta ella, y por favor qué preciosa portada!
Así que tenía que leerlo y...
Como todos los libros de esta autora fue breve, ojalá fueran más extensos, sin mucha rosca o dramas, con una heroína joven, inocente y dulce y un héroe obsesionado con hacerla feliz.
Puede que no sea espectacular pero a mí me gustó mucho el mundo de vampiros que puso, cómo se dividen en malos, los noctámbulos y los buenos los diurnos, el tema de las consortes destinadas y cómo las reclaman, funcionó para mí.
Kieran es el hermano mayor, encantador, fuerte, valiente, sensual.
Se mostró como un tipo tranquilo que anhela encontrar a su pareja.
Thana estuvo bien pero me hubiera gustado que pusiera a su horrible tía en su lugar. Me faltó más carácter de ella pero lo compensó huyendo de Jonathan sin pensarlo dos veces.
Kieran y Thana estuvieron geniales, con una gran química, se sintió bien la pareja y disfruté mucho con ellos hasta que consiguen su final feliz.
Dusk before Dawn es un pequeño gran romance paranormal de vampiros que tiene peligro, emoción, acción, momentos divertidos y escenas humeantes. Tiene el toque de la señora Davenport que por supuesto me hizo devorarlo hasta el final.
Ya quiero leer los libros de los hermanos de Kieran que estuvieron divertidos en esta historia. Hay un vistazo de Athan y la amiga de la infancia de Thana, Selene, así que ya muero por ver qué pasa con ellos.

I absolutely loved this book. Thana was being set up by her aunt for an arranged marriage that she had no idea about and wanted no part of. She did the only thing she could at that point.... run!!! When she ran, she had no idea it would take her to her destiny. Kieran was there waiting for his consort to show up!!

A short tale of a materialistic aunt contriving and forcing an alliance by way of an engagement with a Nightwalker for her niece.
Kieran is a Daywalker and Thana is his fated consort. Human consorts were born with what they assumed was a birthmark on their neck, in fact, it’s the very spot a vampire would feed from to turn their mate. They were the only humans who did not become nightwalkers filled with bloodlust that dissolved any trace of their humanity when bitten. They were the only ones who could become daywalkers through a bite.
Hunting nightwalkers was one of their jobs, Nightwalkers are soulless and bloodthirsty in the hunt of their prey. They want nothing more than to rid the world of Kieran’s kind and to kill their consorts in attempt to keep them from procreating. The brothers made a fortune with other talents as well. Athan, his brother was also particularly gifted at growing their portfolios, making them each a billionaire. Kieran ran a billion-dollar tech firm that worked with black ops agencies all over the world. Stephan was between jobs—hobbies.
The brothers each owned a mansion just outside of town—around ten minutes from each other. Considering they could teleport, the proximity wasn’t necessary. But Kieran, Athan and Stephan remained close, and living near each other felt right.
Athan worked as a trainer for young daywalkers. He trained them how to fight and defend against nightwalkers and any other threats they might face in their immortal existence, which meant he was only available for escort or patrol on certain nights.
Thana fearfully escapes, running from her aunt’s announced birthday celebration which is actually a forced engagement party. She escapes to Kieran’s mansion seeking sanctuary. He soon realises that she’s his fated mate.
Epilogue of their family and the children’s inherited skills. Athan meets his mate, Selene (Thana’s best friend) in ‘With the Sunrise’.

First off I have to say vampires aren’t my thing so I wasn’t sure about this book. But since I have read and loved everything by this author, I had to give it a chance. Boy am I glad I did! Fiona is one of my most favorite authors. She knows how to keep readers entertained and definitely keeps us on our toes. Her books are funny, sexy and heartwarming. Would I like for them to be longer? Of course. But her stories are so good that I'll wait for the next one while going back and re-reading the old ones. I was privileged enough to receive an advanced reader copy of this book from the author for a voluntary and honest review.

HERO - Kieran Bancroft. Daywalker and owner of a billion-dollar tech firm associated with black ops agencies. About 6’ tall and muscular with black hair, pale skin, and light blue eyes.
HEROINE - Thana Fernsby. Medium height and willowy with blonde curls that hang past her bottom, pale skin, and big blue eyes. Two reddish-brown marks on her neck, similar to freckles, but much larger.
OVERALL THOUGHTS - This was middle of the road for me. I enjoyed it more than their shifter trilogy, but still found it to be lacking in character development. Neither MC is fully fleshed out, but I’d say Kieran was a bit more so than Thana. Outside of the immediate events in this book, Thana is a big question mark. Is she in school? Does she work? Any hobbies? Friends?
We at least know what Kieran does for work when he’s not slaying nightwalkers even if it doesn’t play any role at all in the story. He also has two brothers he’s close with named Athan and Stephan.
There’s a prologue and it’s full of exposition. On the one hand, you learn all about the difference between daywalkers and nightwalkers, consorts and how to detect them, and a little bit about the brothers all in one go. On the other, it’s very obviously an info dump intended to pull the band-aid off quickly so the rest of the story can flow without the need to drop pesky details along the way. I’m rather neutral about it, but I have to wonder why they chose to go this route. They have a perfect stand-in for the reader in Thana, who knows nothing about the vampire world. We could’ve just learned along with her.
The vampire lore is pretty well fleshed out thanks to the prologue and a couple of details sprinkled in the story. There’s some external conflict that ended up being pretty weak, but considering the short length of the story, I suppose there wasn’t time to flesh out the villain. Speaking of fleshing out, now that I think about it, we never did learn just how the antagonist came to know about Thana. The whole situation with the “arranged marriage” was just weird and underdeveloped the more I think about it.
Anyway, it was a quick, entertaining read that could’ve done with a few more chapters. Athan’s story is up next in With the Sunrise. His heroine is introduced in the first epilogue and is a long lost childhood friend of Thana’s.

I liked this take on vampires. Day versus night, good versus evil. This is the first in the series of three brothers. Thana is Kieran’s fated consort. Thana arrives at Kieran’s home, desperate for help. Steamy and romantic story with a bit of action thrown in. HEA.

No. Just no.
Originally, I thought the story was good. Then the characters instantly fell in love. Usually, I don't care too much when mates are involved because it’s somewhat logical, but this is a vampire and a human, and the human woman is just cool with it. I'm talking about calling each other “baby” and promising never to leave each other on the first day they meet!!! Then, Thana (the fmc) just agrees to live with this random guy she met like 10 minutes before. 🙄 She is portrayed as dumb and helpless, and I hate that.
Then we get to the sex scenes (on the first day too, I might add.) These were just cringeworthy and straight-up awful. I couldn't even finish them because they were so bad. The author used all my ick words. Honey (arousal term), Virgin hole, derriere (why), and ripe breasts (they aren't fruit). Then, wait for it, this is the scene when Kieran c*ms.
“Fuck, Thana,” I groaned. “Oh, yeah, baby. Feel how you were made for my c*ck. Oh, fuck, yeah. That’s it, baby, squeeze that tight p*ssy and make me come. Oh yeah. Good girl. Fuck! Oh, fuck, Thana! Yes! Fuuuuuuk!”
🤮😭 When does it end! Like when a man moans or has short dialogue, I don’t mind it, but this was too long. I honestly DNF after this scene 😬
I feel like I’m being absolutely horrible, but so was this book 💔

Originally, I thought the story was good. Then the characters instantly fell in love. Usually, I don't care too much when mates are involved because it’s somewhat logical, but this is a vampire and a human, and the human woman is just cool with it. I'm talking about calling each other “baby” and promising never to leave each other on the first day they meet!!! Then, Thana (the fmc) just agrees to live with this random guy she met like 10 minutes before. 🙄 She is portrayed as dumb and helpless, and I hate that.
Then we get to the sex scenes (on the first day too, I might add.) These were just cringeworthy and straight-up awful. I couldn't even finish them because they were so bad. The author used all my ick words. Honey (arousal term), Virgin hole, derriere (why), and ripe breasts (they aren't fruit). Then, wait for it, this is the scene when Kieran c*ms.
“Fuck, Thana,” I groaned. “Oh, yeah, baby. Feel how you were made for my c*ck. Oh, fuck, yeah. That’s it, baby, squeeze that tight p*ssy and make me come. Oh yeah. Good girl. Fuck! Oh, fuck, Thana! Yes! Fuuuuuuk!”
🤮😭 When does it end! Like when a man moans or has short dialogue, I don’t mind it, but this was too long. I honestly DNF after this scene 😬
I feel like I’m being absolutely horrible, but so was this book 💔

A much-needed vampire series after the shifter series. The story just like Fiona's previous series started smoothly with quick-paced. I liked how Fiona was always able to show us their own different take on the paranormal beings, but still true to the root of how a vampire should be. This vampire universe was quite interesting, and the author easily eased us into their world and rules smoothly. So, new concepts with your per usual OTT smutty instalove at its very best.

This had so much potential but it honestly ended up being only about the sex. The whole premise of the good and evil vamps and the fated mates was interesting. But despite the instant attraction, I get it fated to be together kind of thing, but you can add a story to the sex and this one had none. no character development, no plot development. disappointing. I gave it 2 stars because if all you want is sex this one works.

DNF at 75%. Despite how short this story was, I just couldn’t bring myself to finish this one with the lack of plot and the insta-love.
