Renee They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. That’s one thing I didn’t hope for when I moved across the country. My new small-town life is just what I need. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Screw the heart.
What I need now is to start over—a new lease on life and one night of passion. Everything was going great until the hottie from the bar shares he’s never had his hand in the cookie jar before—no big deal. I’ll never see him again. But then I show up to dinner and learn the random guy I hooked up with is my best friend’s little brother.
Parker Embarrassment isn’t enough to describe what I felt when she walked into the dining room. I made a fool of myself. I showed my inexperience and was sure the memory would be with her forever. But there she is, just as surprised as me. She wants me to forget. Pretend it never happened.
The thing is—it did, and I’m glad about it.
Now all I want is to make up for the last time, a chance to do it right—all the time.

THIS IS HOW YOU DO COWBOY ROMANCE - yup yup 🤠 I read a lot of these babies and let me tell you easily one of the best cowboy romances I’ve ever read. Parker & Renee will always have a piece of me now I’m just obsessed. This was so sexy, entertaining and actually made me emotional at times. My girl Sade can write her ass off, what a star she is.
He knows she’s gonna kiss him and he just closes his eyes and lets her?!
Then he doesn’t know if he’s still in love with the ex, doesn’t immediately contact the h to clear things up, lets the ex take his hand and stand next to him in front of the h.. and then he has the AUDACITY to think that the h is projecting the insecurities created by her cheating ex-fiancé (insecurities she is allowed to have after such an event and insecurities he knew about) when he didn’t give her any reason to trust him in the month that it took him to clear things up after the ex kissed him??!
He needed to make up his mind faster and grovel more.
There’s not much going on in the book, but the premise was interesting and would have been great if it was well written.
An indecisive MMC who can’t see his own mistakes ruins the whole story which already wasn’t very strong, but would have been cute enough with a better execution of the third act breakup.
The premise of this book is so up my alley. A steamy love story set on a ranch, and a hot, generous, hard-working virgin-hero? Yes, please!
The central characters are likable, and the relationships are playful and caring. There was sophistication to the writing that elevated it, making it easier to overlook grammar and punctuation errors, and some slightly off-target dialect. The whole book felt like a labor of great devotion.
There were some things that bothered me: First, the heroine is demeaning toward the hero based on his sexual inexperience and relative youth. This soured me on her personality, and I had to be won over again. Second, the hero allowed an extreme misunderstanding to fester for an entire month, absolutely breaking the heroine's heart. The unbelievable lack of communication between all of the characters creates and sustains the main conflict. It was exasperating. Third, the oversimplified resolution skipped over the glaring question "Why did you let me suffer believing an illusion??" He could have found a way to give her even a smidge of merciful clarity.
I want to end this on a high note, though, because Saddle Up Cowboy draws you into its charming small-town world, with a fantastic crew of multicultural characters, and a super-sexy virgin hero!
A hot, virgin cowboy and a strong, gorgeous, newly single black woman??? YES PLEASE! I just discovered @saderenawrites and I cannot get enough! The character development is amazing, the smut is just 👌 *chef’s kiss*, and the romance leaves you wanting more and more. Renee and Parker star in this steamy, multicultural, age gap romance where they had to fight through setbacks and adversity. Will they make it in the long run? Check out “Saddle up, Cowboy” and see!
That was such a cute story! Parker and his accent were adorable and Renee was strong, likable, and relatable. There’s just enough drama to move the storyline forward but not so much that it’s overly frustrating. I loved that there never was a point where I found myself just skimming pages to be done with it. I noticed that the author is considering making this the first book in a new series with potential spin offs... PLEASE DO IT!
In today's over sexualized world It's difficult to find a virgin over 21, let alone 25 and male. That's what Renee finds, much to her chagrin. She quickly dismisses him, only to find that he's her best friend's btother-in-law. As time passes, she finds herself in his presence more often and their chemistry is off the charts. This is a sweet story about young man who decided to save himself for his great love and unexpectedly finds her on an attempted one night stand.
I normally don't read books that deal with age gaps like this or the male being a virgin, but this book is really good. The author does a great job with weaving the tale of why he's still a Virginia. There is an awesome plot and backstory, great character interaction, DIY projects and hotness once they get going. Hats off to Sade Rena for a great read, I recommend you adding this one to your TBR list.
This is a new author to me and I definitely will be reading more by her!! Well developed and interesting characters that kept my attention throughout. Renee and Parker have a sexy Interlude and she thinks it’s just a one night stand but she couldn’t be more wrong. Parker will do anything and everything to prove to Renee age is just a number and they can work. I can’t wait to see where this author takes the series!!
Sade Rena’s My Virgin Cowboy had me in my feelings, in the very best way. It offers readers a virgin story with a bit of a twist. I mean how many times is the male character the virgin? The main female character, Renee, and the main male character, Parker, have a chance meeting in a bar. When their sexual encounter goes all the way off the tracks, Parker feels the need to redeem himself but Renee is unwilling to let him try. They have another chance encounter, which leads to something potentially more meaningful. Parker, while young, seems very self-assured in his life and work, but decidedly less confident in his sexual abilities. Renee has been damaged by an a-hole of an ex-husband who is miserable and wants her to be miserable too. She is understandably skittish about diving headfirst into another relationship. With all their false starts and mishaps, watching Parker and Renee come together is such a sweet (and spicy) story that I really enjoyed.
As soon as you read the first chapter, you won’t want to put it down! A one night stand gone wrong leads to a sweet, slow burning, swoon worthy love story! The chemistry between Renee and Parker is incomparable and has you falling in love right along with them, but the spotlight doesn’t stop only on them. You meet Chance, Parker’s buddy, and fall even harder for his hilarious banter. I was on the edge of my seat, smiling, burning up, and on the verge of tears! Luckily, it all concludes with a happily ever after that’s, well, for the books!
With the most mortifyingly embarrassing yet hilarious meet cute and hook up, Saddle Up Cowboy was a lot of fun! I listened to this story and was completely swept away. The characters were easy to like, the story-line was enjoyable, and the ending was heartwarming! Parker and Renee made me so happy. From when they met up again, to their exchange agreement, I absolutely adored them! Plus the friendships in this story added a beautiful layer. If you're looking for a steamy, adult, age gap, cowboy romance, this one was so entertaining!
He inches closer. “yousaid my first time should be with someone who means somethin’. So, I’ll make this mean somethin’,”
Look, I’m all in for a good quick and easy read but this was tooo fucking much. Like the story lacked so much substance to make it tolerable. DNF’d at 17%
This story was refreshing snd funny. It was interesting to read about a hero who was strong and innocent. Many of the stories we see today feature alpha males with over the top controlling personalities. Parker was the opposite.
I like the fact that Parker and Renee finds love with each other after they both endears heartbreak from previous long time relationships. Parker’s ex Madison tried her best to worm her way back into his heart. I have not doubts that she figured out Renee was Parker’s girlfriend when she kiss him at the fair, interrupted them at the grocery store and at his brother’s birthday party.
I’ve heard of one minute man and two minute men. But never a 2 stroke ni33a 😭😭
Renee and Parker are super cute together. I like the way their relationship is unfolding.
After finding out about Phil, Parker told Renee that he’d choose her. But he choose Madison. And I get it, it was his first love he had to make sure he was truly over her. He owed that to Renee and himself but I still feel some type of way toward him regarding that decision. And if that’s not what he did it sure as hell looks mad sus.
Parker is a goofy for seeing how things were looking and just let it fly. Glad the air got cleared.
There were a few unintentional misused words but overall this was a good written story with likable characters. And the drama didn’t get dragged out for long.
2.5⭐️ - in theory this book is everything I want, but the execution was sorely lacking. Writing a country accent is tough but this felt cringy, overall editing was not great and very inconsistent.
Renee moves to a small town in Texas to be near her newly married friend as she escapes a failed relationship. Her first night there she has a failed hook up with a local cowboy, only to come face to face with him a few days later at her friends house. Finding out Parker is her best friend’s brother-in-law seals the deal on everything being a bad idea. However they still get pushed together when he offers to help fix up her new house. A relationship forms, and seems to be going well, until his ex comes back to town to shake things up.
The grammar/writing made this hard to get through, and then the third act breakup really sealed the deal. Allowing over a month for a miscommunication to fester is just excessive, they shouldn’t have gotten back together if that’s the way the relationship is going to go. Not a bad story, just poorly executed.
My Virgin Cowboy set us on a one night stand gone wrong but turns into a slow burning love story. Renee is feeling the blues after a rough break up. Parker’s friends thinks it time for him to move on. First time encounter with each other didn’t plan out like they wanted. You’ll have to read the book to see how their love journey plans out. Love the supporting characters like Leah and Chance. My Virgin Cowboy is a page turner. Looking forward to check other books by this author.
Renee and Parker have an awkward encounter at a bar on Renee’s first night in her new home town. Imagine their surprise when they come face to face the next day at her best friend’s house. Turns out Parker is the younger brother of her best friend’s new husband. Parker wants another chance and he has his work cut out for him getting Renee to relent. Good read.
This was a cute, fun, and lighthearted romance that worked perfectly as a palette cleanser! The humor between the characters had me laughing, and the southern touches with the accents were absolutely adorable. It was a nice, feel-good read—nothing too heavy, just a sweet love story with plenty of charm.
The dynamic between the main characters was great—especially the moments when he says “I’d choose you” 🥹 and the hilariously awkward scenes, like when he blurts out that she’s his girlfriend. I’m not gonna lie, I was grinning from ear to ear at how cute and funny they were together.
One thing I really loved was how the hero was portrayed as a virgin. It was such a refreshing change to see the male lead in this role, especially in a world where there's often this expectation for men to always be experienced and women to be the virgins. Him wanting to make sure she finishes, and his line “Show me how to pleasure you”—that is a man. Honestly, it was so hot to see him genuinely focused on her pleasure and being so considerate.
I really wish the book had delved into more was the relationship with the FMC's mom. In the phone call, her mom was honestly insane, making her feel guilty for leaving her cheating husband. But by the end of the book, her mom was suddenly supportive of this new marriage? Where did that character development come from? I would’ve loved to see a scene where they had an actual conversation about it, maybe a talk that helped clear things up or allowed her mom to grow. That felt like an important part of the FMC's emotional journey that was just glossed over.
Now, let’s talk about the miscommunication trope. I love a good romance, but the whole “I’m 33 and running away from him” thing just didn’t sit well with me. Like, girl, please be for real—you’re grown, and this is clearly avoidable drama. It was a bit frustrating, especially since it felt like the plot relied on it to create tension. But other than that, the book was pretty cute and enjoyable.
Overall, it was a solid 3-star read. If you’re looking for something light and funny with a little romance, this one does the job. Definitely not groundbreaking, but definitely entertaining.
