This book a touched on some emotional cultural and socially relevant topics involving loving while black. The pain and pleasure that comes from the experiencing that love when life fights to keep you apart and tells you that you aren’t valued. Karma & Aries were not ready for love or each other. However, you can’t fight what is meant to be. The author did a great job with character development and relaying emotion through dialogue and action. The story moved well and had a couple of memorable characters. This was my first read by this author, but won’t be my last

A good read

A good read that touches on a very emotional subject. The characters are well developed, interesting, and likeable. Both Karma and Aries were running from love because of loss from their past. The author does a great job bringing them together.

One of the best books

This book was everything. It talks about our struggles in everyday life; injustice, racism, grief, love and more. This book kept me wanting more. Although at times I wanted to slap Karma, I felt what she was going through.
