cute series overall! didn’t take itself too seriously and the characters were likable

Ellie and Ohmi get a little time to themselves and it looks like Ellie’s fantasies might suddenly slam into reality. After they level up, it’s Ellie’s birthday and, oh yeah, then the series ends. It’s one more tweet for the road (or twenty) for a plain girl and her boy!

The mangaka mentions that they can’t believe the series went on so long in the introduction, which is, to my mind, shorthand for ‘the series went on TOO long’. Lovesick Ellie kind of dragged towards this volume and when I saw the mention of the High School Boy contest in the summary, I swear the word ‘idiotic’ was the first thing that came into my head.

Which is why I am very happy that, while imperfect, this book manages to recapture a little of the spark that the first volumes had. Once Ellie and Ohmi start getting intimate, Ellie’s base personality takes over and she’s at her most ridiculously thirsty and it’s really funny.

And while you might expect this change to really mellow out most characters or push them to maturity, I’d say that she’s actually worse than ever (how many nosebleeds can a heroine have!?). It’s a great turn for her and I think more of this wouldn’t have gone wrong if the story had continued.

Naturally Ellie doesn’t need Twitter now that her fantasies have come true, so she deletes it. Which lasts about as long as you expect - of all the things to get a massive full page piece of artwork... it actually makes sense that it would be Ellie’s undying dedication to her safe online space.

There are a lot more cute moments between our leads - the entire birthday chapter is okay, but ends (in)appropriately. The first bonus chapter is about Ohmi and Kaname, a former rival, learning to be friends. It’s kind of pointless, but the last gag with Ellie is almost worth the whole journey (and Kaname’s lack of social graces does land some great jokes).

The final story features a visit to this world’s Disneyland ripoff and it turns into a group date that I found a little iffy because I had no idea who one of the couples actually was. They’re clearly in previous volumes, but... nope... no idea. It’s a long walk to the comedic climax in this one too, but it’s also worth it. A classic Ellie and Ohmi moment to go out on.

I definitely give it a couple of serious dings for breaking the fourth wall twice, which I do not recall the series doing previously. That’s a really fine line with me and I don’t feel it was necessary or added much to things.

3 stars. An average shojo that was occasionally better than average, but not consistently. Perfectly fine as finales go, but nothing stellar; I certainly wouldn’t pick this over many similar books in the genre. I may reread it at some point, but it’ll never be a favourite OR an immediate recommendation, unlike some other series.

I really enjoyed this series so much! Both Ellie and Ohmi grew so much on their own and as a couple, and this concluding volume really nailed the landing.

Definitivamente necesito un oumi-kum en mi vida. No hay ser más hermoso que el, este fue el manga perfecto para pasar de una lectura a otra, fue divertido y sumamente tierno además se lee super rápido, Ellie también me encantó, la historia de los amigos también fue super tierna, creo que este manga está ultra recomendado.

To be honest, I'm more enamored by the Kaname extra than the ending of the series. Ever since his introduction, I felt like the mangaka never knows what to do with him so it's kind of funny how he goes through more growth in a single bonus chapter than the entire series.

Overall, I'm underwhelmed. While the series starts off strong, it loses momentum as soon as the leads get together and has been a steady nosedive ever since. While there are side characters that I enjoy, they're not enough for me to recommend this manga to other people. There are better shoujo romcoms out there.

With that, the series has come to an end. Kinda sad that it ended how it did, but I guess it’ll be left for us to imagine what could’ve happened after.

Overall, the series was such a ride. It was funny, heartfelt and swoon worthy. The main two characters have come a long way and they have changed each other for the better.

This manga could be something I’d probably reread if I feel like reading something different. Definitely recommend this sweet manga, had many laughs

I can't believe it's finally over! This series was so good, with so much sweetness, good messages, and wholesome moments throughout (despite the premise).

I love Ellie, she's such a fun and unique shoujo protagonist. It was so nice to see a girl with just as much of a pervy mind as me (okay she is definitely more pervy, but still). You rarely see that normalised in such a good way, it was refreshing.

Ohmi gets a lot of love from me too! He's such a great guy, friend, and boyfriend. Somehow both very realistic, with flaws, mistakes, and growth, as well as being the idealistic guy who gets Ellie and accepts her for who she is (a huge perv lmao).

This is one that I can see myself revisiting in the future!

A story of a perverted girl who fantasizes about her crush on the most popular and charming boy in school on Twitter. Everything is fine and dandy, that is until she accidentally discovers her crushes true personality and now he's not so nice and charming. He then goes on to discover her secret twitter account about him and all hell breaks loose. (Lol jk it's not that dramatic. )

Yes, this manga has all the usual tropes but I enjoyed them nonetheless. (No jealous past ex. Thank goodness. ) Ellie is supposed to be this pervert girl and SHE IS but its pretty tame. Her tweets are mostly fake romantic scenarios that aren't sexual until they start dating. She's clumsy, a little ditzy, and blurts out dumb things when nervous. I find her endearing.
The main Male MC, forgot his name, is a tsundere. I dont usually enjoy reading about those types because they usually do the bare minimum and its supposed to be amazing but this guy isn't like that. He may fail at times but he tries to show his emotions to Ellie. He's just shy and blushes a lot. (He's 30% cinnamon roll.)
I really liked that Ellie was always the one that wanted more sexually and the dude was the one restraining himself from going to far. (Cuz if it was up to Ellie weeellll)

This series isn't perfect but I had a great time. I recommend. 💜💜

I can’t believe this is really over… T~T

I never fell hard for a shojo series as fast as I did with Lovesick Ellie.... Even for Say I Love You, it took a while; it wasn't until I read a bit more of the manga that I really thought it's one of my favorites, I think?

But with Ellie, I think I had a feeling this will be one of my favorite manga series/shojos after the first chapter~ I'm not sure if there will be another shojo that I'll love this much...

I really hope the Fujimomo-sensei will perhaps write a few more chapters of them after high school T~T

Lovesick Ellie is definitely one of my all-time favorites~


P.S. Love how Akira told Ellie that he doesn’t feel like he has to act/put up an act in front of others, esp when he’s with her~

The end :'-(

I enjoyed the story a lot, sadly it didn't make it to my top favorites. The art is pretty and the situations they end up were so funny and a bit swoony, I rooted for both characters with all my heart but I'm slightly disappointed because the story it lacked a bit of depth.

I wanted to see more of Ohmi and his home situation and Ellie been there for him that way it'll show us that a strong bond between them was growing... I understand this is my personal so I don't think I'll collect the manga. :(

All and all Fujimomo gives us a pervy, fluffy highschool love story that teens can truly enjoy.

I'm only a little disappointed by volume 12, the finale of Lovesick Ellie. There's barely anything left for the story, and the rest of the volume is a bunch of bonus content.

I love this series overall. It's ridiculous, funny, sex-positive, and over-the-top. I love the character growth and the way the story developed, though some of it did feel like filler at times. I kind of wish we got to see them in college for a little bit, but I've noticed that with shojo manga, they don't always go that route.

Ellie finally fulfilled her desires with Ohmi-kun. They are such a sweet and endearing couple. I like how well they compliment one another. Ohmi is just as ridiculous as Ellie, so they just fit together.

I think a volume or two did lose some of the spark of the first few volumes, but it found it again in this one even with how short the arc is in volume 12.

I definitely recommend giving Lovesick Ellie a chance if you love outrageous situations and a female character who is sex/boy [well, one boy] obsessed and hasn't done the deed yet.

I do like how the author took a shot with this story, and I look forward to what they'll come up with next. So far, they have another series that is digital only in the US titled Love, that's an understatement. I do recommend that one as well.

I seriously didn’t think I’d enjoy this series so much, but I did! I never wanted the series to end, like, I was dreading the ending chapter. It’s very cute, and the drama is good too.
The series is about a perverted girl who posts her strange fantasies about a certain boy on Twitter.
It’s a manga that I’d recommend for older girls, considering it’s a bit.. pervy at times (not that I mind). The main character is really relatable too.
I’m definitely going to buy physical copies though. It’s a manga I want to read even when I’m 60 years old.
My fantasies have been fulfilled and I now have hope that I’ll get a hot, caring boyfriend like Ohmi-kun! Thanks, author-San.

Mais quelle belle surprise!! 12 tome mais aucune longueur!

C'est une très belle histoire, j'aime le côté "fille bizarre avec pleins de fantasmes" car c'est si réaliste et si bien abordé dans ce manga!! En plus, c'est tout doux et très drôle à lire, avec des graphismes super mignons et brillants comme j'aime !

Chaque personnage a son importance et surtout son trait de caractère à lui (ce que j'ai adoré!) J'aime vraiment chaque perso (surtout Sara je m'identifie un peu à elle lol)

L'histoire aborde différentes conceptions de l'amour (l'amour réciproque ou non, l'amour assumé ou celui qu'on ne réalise pas encore, l'amour d'une personne perdue dans ses sentiments etc) et la relation entre Omi et Ellie est superbe!

Étonnamment il y a beaucoup de choses qui sont originales et que je n'ai jamais vu auparavant! Par exemple il n'y a pas une dispute avec le copain ou la meilleure amie à cause d'un quiproquos tout bête ! Ici il y a des vrais disputes avec un vrai fondement et pour une fois la "faute" viens de la fille et non du garcon

bueno, me leí los 12 tomos en 13 horas y voy a dar mi opinión. no la pasaba tan bien leyendo un manga desde my love mix-up. ellie es caótica en todo sentido, más de una vez me representó y me dió gracia porque captura lo alborotados que son los adolescentes. adoro cuando una protagonista va creciendo junto a los personajes que la rodean, haciendo que el paso del tiempo sea más notorio, algo que es marcado en ohmi. me gustó mucho como el protagonista, el verdadero no juzgues a un libro por su portada porque al libro no le gusta. mi chiquito pasó por todas, pero valoro mucho como no dejaba que sobrepasen sus sentimientos, que asuman cosas de él y que lo quisieran categorizar. ellos (ellie y ohmi) hacen de una de mis parejas favoritas que he leído a lo largo de este año (sumando a reo y sara, de quienes quiero leer más !!!!!!).

Bref, « @Ellie : #Je n’ai pas de petit ami » fût un shojo très plaisant à lire. J’ai adoré aussi bien les protagonistes que les personnages secondaires. L’évolution de chacun est progressive et touchante. L’humour et les perversités d’Eriko sont très bien dosés et j’ai aimé la voir prendre confiance en elle, en ses sentiments et en son corps. Quant à Ômi, j’ai adoré ses maladresses, sa gentillesse et même son embarras. Le respect, l’introspection et la communication dont ils font preuve pour surmonter les obstacles m’a charmé et ce fût un réel plaisir de les suivre et de voir l’amour éclore entre eux. Enfin, les divers personnages secondaires, la qualité et la douceur des dessins viennent sublimer le tout !

This was the best one yet, even though it is the last volume of the series. Eriko and Akira were so cute in this one and the progress of their relationship was so brilliant and lovely. The surprise party that was ruined was still so cute and wholesome and Eriko was so cute. Reo and Sara ate going strong, and it was great to see where some of the other characters have ended up. Kaname's chapter was so fun and brilliant, you can really see the character development of him well. The last chapter of TokyoNyanco Land was so fun and enjoyable of a read, to see all the couples in their relationships and just having fun was the best. It is sad to see this series end, but it was so enjoyable of a series and so worth the read.

Cette deuxième moitié de série me confirme que c’est absolument un coup de cœur pour moi. Lire ce manga me met tellement de bonne humeur, j’adore.

Vraiment, cette critique n’en ai pas vraiment une car je n’ai rien de négatif à dire. J’ai adoré du début à la fin et je ne peux que vous la conseiller. Ellie est à jamais dans mon cœur et je pense que je pourrais relire cette série pleine de fois, elle me fera toujours autant rire. J’aimé sa façon d’être et sa manière de vivre, mais pas que, pour ses fantasmes.

Je recommande à tous ceux qui veulent un peu de bonheur dans leur vie.

I feel a bit conflicted because there were parts of the story I really enjoyed - were I thought it brought new things to the genre. But overall I think it lands kn a 2.5/5 for me. I feel like it dragged on, could have been a few volumes shorter and still conveyed the same story. Some of the storylines like the completion the ML were in was quite ridiculous too? I liked that Ellie wasn't your "typical" protagonist, but it got a bit ... Uncomfortable just how perverted she was a time.

Anyways, when I start I have to see it to the end and this was a fast read. Interested to see what this magakakas next series will be.

It’s over?!!! 😭😭😭

Wow. Twelve volumes and it’s come to a closing. I’m so sad. But it’s been so much fun and cute and I love Ellie!!!! This crazy girl will be missed. I agree with other reviewers that this felt rushed here and there. I truly didn’t even remember the third couple that was in the last chapter lol. Anyway, this still had plenty to love. And I loved the little glimpse of what Ellie’s dream future with Ohmi-kun would look like too. So sweet.

While I’m glad that I read this romance manga, I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. It doesn’t feel like an actual end to the manga series, it just feels like the end of an arc in the overall story.
With that said though, I’m very happy that all of the couples shown throughout the series managed to get their happy endings. I also really enjoyed the bonus chapters, with the adorable group trip and Omi-kun interacting with Kaname-kun.

WONDERFUL BOOK! was so sad that it ended. I love cliche romance comedies, and this one was amazing. Had me laughing, kicking my feet, crying, and everything. Ellie and Omi's relationship was cute, but realistic. Like any genuine relationship, they had their difficulties and awkward moments. The writing was encapsulating, and the art was beautiful. The beginning of the book got right to the point. Definitely not a slow burn. This is great for me because I hate slow burns.

I can't believe it's finally the end. I'm not ready to say goodbye to all these characters but mostly my babies Omi and Ellie. I will miss them so much! I loved the ending and how they finally got to go to the park and spend time together and just be together since summer has been busy for both of them. It was the perfect closure. I loved it. We got to see them be in a really good place emotionally and as individuals. This series will forever hold a special place in my heart.

What a perfect first time for these two! I’m so damn jealous!!!! I love how Ohmi reassured Ellie and was so freakin sweet to her! UGH MAKES ME SICK!!! Don’t we all wish our first time could’ve been that sweet?!? Lol
