Olivier Roland offers an inspiring road map to help readers get more out of life as an 'Intelligent Rebel' and find success and fulfilment by breaking out of the system.
Do you dream of a less stressful life? Break out of the system, embrace your purpose and shape your own journey to success and fulfilment.
We're not designed for a one-size-fits-all education or lifestyle-so why not choose a path where you can make your own rules, follow your passions, and live a rewarding, purpose-fueled life? Breaking out of the "system" and becoming an entrepreneur or a creator can be daunting, but with this step-by-step guide to taking charge of your life, realizing your individual potential, and building a sustainable business with minimal risk, you'll discover that the way of the intelligent rebel is ultimately a path to freedom and self-realization.
Wasn’t a fan of this one, I thought it would be more eye opening, especially since Robert Greene highly recommended it. It taught nothing about being a rebel it more struck me as a “this is what huge CEOs are doing therefore you should do it too” type book.
I unknowingly broke one of my rules with this book: never read books by bloggers! There’s a reason a lot of these people are bloggers, because you can post anything on the internet without much scrutiny. Maybe it just didn’t translate very well from French? Though the author got the last laugh over me because I paid full price for it lol.
We have a choice - choice how to live, how to work and how to design our life. We're intelligent rebels who get that the system that had been glorified until now - work hard to retire well - is not enough to motivate us to put in decades of work. Olivier Roland in the Way of the Intelligent Rebel is inviting us to break the pattern, to realize that we're able to mold our lifestyles to our dreams and desires.
A mishmash of books like 4 hour work week, Influence and books by Chip and Dan heath but without the narrative or the real science... Read the books it derives from... I got this because Robert Greene recommended it. Bad recommendation...
PROS: Somewhat useful compilation of business and marketing best practices. Best for those who are early in their career or looking for quick intro to entrepreneurship. It was helpful for identifying topics I wanted to learn more about.
CONS: Doesn't dive deeply into anything, although he does list sources for further reading. Relies heavily on examples which may or may not be applicable to you. The author also worships Steve Jobs which got old REALLY fast. Poorly edited.
Do you sometimes feel like doing something different than usual? Here's a book for you.
'The Way Of The Intelligent Rebel' is a book that helps us to shape our careers and lifestyle according to our own terms. It aims to bring about the possibilities that lie around us in order to live a life that is more fulfilled than dreamed about.
The author talks about the so-called typical path of success- to study hard, get the best degree, get the ideal job and then retire and enjoy the rest of our lives. He terms this as the 'rat race' which everyone is chasing unknowingly.
Another aspect that is worth pondering over is that studies don't always guarantee success. It enhances our chances of getting a better job.
The book is informative and practically applicable in many senses. It is easy to comprehend and there are some concepts and tools that are of help.
If you're looking for ways on how to make your life different from ordinary, you can pick up this book.
It might feel safe and secure to be in your shell, but that's where you draw a line between your potential and growth. But the Intelligent rebels want to avoid the rat race and find better ways of being happy and free.
In this comprehensive guide, Olivier Roland has outlined a completely new framework to live up to your potential and achieve personal, professional, and financial growth. Starting your business rather than having job security can look terrifying from the bottom - with the insurmountable tasks, extreme efforts, hard work, and fear of being unable to manage time. People are generally very fearful when it comes to setting up a business.
But, the idea is to break down the goal into smaller pieces. Go step by step and make your way to the summit. You will find a lot of case studies, research papers, and references from some of the greatest books which make the book engaging and practical.
This book reinstates the fact that you should not undermine yourself by thinking that you cannot improve, build your business, or achieve financial freedom if you are not born with fortitude and confidence. You don't have to have everything by birth, these are qualities that you can cultivate with time, the right kind of education, experiences, and a little effort. A must-read for everyone who wants to lead a different life - outside the rat race!
The author was able to set up his first business at the age of 19. He guides you in setting up your own business. To achieve success in the field you’re passionate about and create something out of it and break free of the system.
The book describes the limitations of our education system and why the skills taught at school differs from the demands of market/work. It explains how to cover this gap by learning the essential subjects not taught at school. We need to stimulate our creativity and independence and gain the required set of skills. How the education system lacks practicality and stuffs us with knowledge we will never use and are likely to forget. Honestly speaking, I agree with this and I’ve felt the same when I started my first job as a civil engineer.
📖 The book is divided into 2 parts:
▪️𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 1️⃣ : It helps you in building a growth mindset, what areas to make improvement in yourself. Ways to increase your intelligence, motivation, willpower and focus. Steps to improve your current habits and increasing your learning abilities.

It’s a thick and comprehensive book. You’ll get everything you need in this subject and everything is explained in length by giving examples, case studies, stories and experience of many famous personalities and business models.
The engagement of the book with the reader is amazing. It feels like having a long conversation with the author.
It isn’t feasible in a short review to show the importance of this book. It is best for entrepreneurs or anyone who wants to create something of his own or for personal development.
There’s more to life than school, sleep, work, and retirement. This book will first teach you how to get around the limitations of traditional education, then create viable and sustainable businesses, how to implement business told and strategies for success, and embrace your purpose and live with happiness and freedom.
Regardless of where you are in your life, this book will TEACH you something! The powerful insights, the simple ideas, and the real-world examples mentioned throughout the book will help you to break free and succeed!
Quite compact pep-talk do what I say to succeed book. I happened to read the 4-hour workweek before this and it referenced it a lot. Heavy emphasis on optimizing your life using principles such as the Pareto Law. It was a good summer read and I certainly loved the success stories that accompanied certain chapters.
This book shares ideas 💡 of school of life from solopreneur to making an impact. Walks through examples from 4hpur workweek to Simon Sinek Why.. Thank you for your story.
