Matrimony Alaska #2

The Mountain Man's Runaway Bride

Rate this book
Running away from her wedding seemed like the perfect option, until the best man decides to chase her.

When Ash Grayson agreed to stand in as best man at his friend’s wedding, he was only doing it to get a glimpse at the single women in the crowd.

He never thought that the one catching his eye would be the bride-to-be.

Dixie Sutton was beautiful—long flowing black hair, huge doe eyes, with curves a man could drive for miles.

And those are just a few of the things that Ash likes.

Ash’s friend might be mad as hell when Dixie stops the wedding, but Ash?

He’s determined to chase down the runaway bride and make sure she stays in Alaska with a ring on her finger.

His ring.

In the second book of Matrimony Alaska we are introduced to Birk's quiet friend Ash and the curvy librarian Dixie.

Dixie has come to the small town of matrimony for a wedding, her wedding. Dixie has decided to leave her life behind and become a mail order bride. Upon arriving in the charming town Dixie Falls into the arms of a big gruff mountain maj named Ash. The two have instant sparks, but too soon Ash learns she's his friends soon to be bride.

This book lost a couple of stars for me, mostly because I wanted Ash to stand up and fight for Dixie instead of being a gentleman. But it was still a lovely steamy little read and I adored the characters.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The couple: Ash and Dixie

Romance genre: mail-order bride; insta-love
Part of a series: Yes (Matrimony, Alaska)
Length: 96 pages

Plot: Dixie, for reasons, has decided to sign up as a mail-order bride. She's on her way to meet her new husband-t0-be in Matrimony, Alaska. The first person she meets is Ash, and sparks fly. Then she meets her fiance, Kerry. Ash is in love, and Dixie can't figure out why she has chemistry with him and feels nothing for Kerry. She made an agreement though, and even though she overhears Kerry saying that he only wants a business-style marriage, no feelings, she's going through with the wedding. Or is she? (She's not.)

Character development: Ash was so...nice. He should have snatched her up and carried her off. But I get it - we need to see what an honorable guy he is. He was a good friend to Kerry, even though he didn't really want to be at that point. Kerry - what a mess! He should have been upfront with Dixie and he could have saved them all some heartbreak. But then where would the story be? Dixie and Ash were perfect together, as expected, and I hope that we'll see Kerry knocked on his butt by the next woman who shows up in Martimony!

Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes!

Loved it

Dixie has moved to Matrimony to marry Kerry who she met through a mail a bride as she leaves the plane and starts walking she bumps into a mountain of a man Ash who takes her breath away and only when he asks her to go to lunch with him she remembers Kerry and he has just got to them.
Ash sees this beautiful lady and knows he wants her for life but is then blown away when Kerry introduces her to him Dixie and realises who she is. Ash goes to the pub with Dixie and Kerry he can’t stop looking at her and the sparks between them but he knows he has to leave her alone if only she would leave his thoughts. Ash gets a call to stand in as best man at Kerry’s wedding which he does when he goes to find Dixie she is sitting on the floor red eyed. It guts Ash that Dixie has been crying but not when it’s time for the vows Dixie says no to marrying Kerry.
Dixie knows that she can’t marry Kerry and lists all the reasons why and runs out of the church straight into a blizzard and she gets lost and when the heel of her shoe breaks off and twists her ankle she can’t move and realises how cold and tired she is. When Dixie wakes up to Ash she is disoriented it but soon comes to realise that she is actually as Ash’s house.
Ash can’t believe Dixie is in his house and that is where she is going to stay he has nearly lost her twice and he won’t lose her again she is the one he wants to spend his life with and have a family good job Dixie feels the same.

Dixie was ready for something new. Something different. So she signs up to become a mail order bride and finds a husband in Kerry, who lives in Matrimony, Alaska. When she arrives in Matrimony, it is quickly obvious that she might have made a mistake. Not in coming to Alaska but in the groom. While Kerry was nice enough, there was someone else who was continuously present in her thoughts from the moment that she meets him. And when nothing goes right on the wedding day, it seems like fate might agree. Too bad she is already promised.

From the moment Ash first saw Dixie he knew that she was going to be his forever. That is, until one of his friends explains that she is his new bride! So, what can Ash do but stand there and watch the woman of his dreams marry one of his best friends?

This was a great addition to the Matrimony Alaska series. Poor Dixie has so many things happen to her that it is hilarious! And sweet Ash…where can I find me one like him?? Definitely a fun and quick read that I would recommend!

Matrimony Alaska. Where the men are alphas and

The women are innocent, super clumsy, and have the mentality and conversation skills of a 5 year old. That may be an insult to 5 year olds. Not sure.

I like this author normally but this series has me shaking my head and taking way too long to finish. The women in the first two books are Bambis. By that I mean they react to situations like a newborn deer. All wide eyed and “what? You like me? I must be dreaming!”…then she pinches herself and says “ouch!” Of course the guy thinks it’s adorable. Blergh. The dudes have to constantly convince them of their worth. And it takes ALOT of convincing. They just came across as needy.

Also, the townspeople are more like the small minded, pitchfork wielding ones from Frankenstein rather than ones you’d expect to read about in a small town romance. I wouldn’t want to stay in that town of jerks.

I’ll check out the third but will def give up if it’s the same.

I am absolutely in love with the men of Matrimony, Alaska! The Mountain Man’s Runaway Bride, the second in the series by L. Nicole, focuses on Ash finding his forever wife.

Dixie is flying into Matrimony because she agreed to be a mail-order-bride, but when she doesn’t have sparks for the man she’s suppose to marry, but does with Ash, she leaves her groom at the alter.

The Matrimony, Alaska series are perfect, quick romance reads! And, I adored reading Ash’s story. He’s so tender and sweet, and readers can immediately feel the spark between he and Dixie.

I also like that the author didn’t write Dixie to be a perfect, mass-media ideal woman, but a curvy woman and let Ash worship her body.

I cannot wait for more mountain men from Matrimony, Alaska! These are such fun weekend reads!

Short, fun, and sweet!

I’ve been reading a lot of heavy, angst romance books lately and this was the perfect book to lighten the mood! A quick read with a little steam, and some laugh out loud quotes, this was a perfect romance book for a Saturday morning.

Ash is so alpha and over-the-top dreamy. When he meets Dixie he’s instantly smitten. Unfortunately, she’s just moved to their tiny town after answering an ad for a mail order bride placed by one of his friends. Is he just gonna stand by and let her walk down the aisle with another man, especially when he knows she feels the chemistry between them just as much as he does.

I loved this book! It was a fun, romantic read with lovable characters and lots of feels. I highly recommend this one!

This book is absolutely amazing!! I literally fell in love with Ash right from the beginning. It’s such a beautiful story about Ash and Dixie the most adorable pair.

Dixie is coming to town to marry Kerry , but she bumps into Ash and immediately they are done for. They both are fighting it , because It’s was the right thing to do. Until wedding day , everything goes wrong and Dixie finally states her feelings and calls it off. She’s runs off right into a blizzard. Ash comes to her rescue ! He almost lost her, but now she is in his home and ok, there feelings for each other come out full force. They can’t hold back anymore. It’s truly a beautiful story and I really loved it, you will not be disappointed❤️

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Welcome back to Matrimony, Alaska and the great couples that you will find there. This is the sweet love story between Ash and Dixie. Dixie is set to marry another man when she meets Ash. The fact that he and her groom to be are friends just complicates things even more. Dixie cannot help but feel it is a mistake now, halts the wedding and runs of into a storm. Ash does not hesitate to go save his woman. This was a sweet story with a little drama but not too much. These two just cannot deny the chemistry between them.

She can run but she cannot run from him

The Mountain Man's Runaway Bride is the second book in the Matrimony Alaska series. This is the very entertaining story about Ash Grayson and Dixie Sutton. Ash is a man who knows exactly what he wants and that is Dixie, even if she was supposed to be getting married to his friend. So when Dixie calls a halt to the wedding Ash is going to chase her down, throw her over his shoulder and make her his forever.
As usual this is a well written book by L. Nicole. The story-line is wonderful and the characters are fantastic. I really enjoy this author and the way she tells a story.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Dixie is nervous as she heads to Alaska to start a new life, with a man that she has only spoken to but has never seen in person. When she arrives in town, he runs into a man that causes sparks to fly, the problem is he is not the one she is there to meet. Ash likes the quietness of Alaska, although he enjoys his solitude he is missing something. When a beautiful women ran into him, he knew what he wanted. Problem she was not his.

This is an interesting story line, and it was fun to watch it play out to see how it would end. I guess even talking to Kerry, Dixie still went into the arrangement blind as she realized what she and Kerry wanted were two different things.

I like this small town romance featuring a runaway bride and the best man from her wedding! Dixie is a hoot! She's funny and likable from the opening pages. Ash is so sure Dixie is The One, but she's in town to be someone else's mail-order-bride. Complicated doesn't begin to explain this situation but it is handled with maturity and honesty. Ash pushes all the right buttons for a male lead - making his presence known without being pushy, waiting for signs and words from Dixie before he proceed with his plans. This short, sweet with heat story is told in dual POV, descriptive in settings, meaningful conversations and a satisfyingly happy ending! 5 stars

Modern mail order bride Dixie realized from the start that her groom to be was not the man got her. After meeting Ash with their mutual instant connection with each other, Dixie sees multiple warnings in the form of unfortunate events that led up to her vows.
Stopping the wedding during her vows was never part of her plan but neither was overhearing her groom extol the virtues of an emotionless relationship to minimize stress in his life.
I liked the determined way Ash went after Dixie and realized her worth.
A sweet romance through and through.

I thought that this was a great book. Dixie and Ash were fantastic. These two can denied their connection even though Dixie tried at first. I loved how Ash was ready to fight for the woman of his dreams even if it meant letting her married his friend. Dixie is funny and sweet; her inner monologue was hilarious and had me laughing so hard. Ash is really sweet too and is willing to let Dixie go until that fateful moment when she says "No." I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the rest of the series. I would recommend this book and Ms. Lily as an awesome author!

Dixie flies to Alaska to meet and wed her intended. He's the man she met online and thought this whole thing would be a wonderful adventure. But once she meets Kerry Dixie realizes he's not her love match. Not even close! Bumping into stranger, Ash, is a life-altering moment. There's a spark there and he's everything she ever dreamed about. Kerry doesn't want passion, he just wants an arrangement. Can Dixie go after the man of her dreams? This was a sweet (and HOT) insta-love romance. A fun any-night read, you'll feel the sparks fly between Dixie and Ash. 4 stars!

**I really didn't like Kerry here, but he's next up in this series!

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I love Ash so much! He immediately fell head over heels for Dixie. He got so upset when he finds out she's going to be wedded to someone else. He stays back.... until an unforeseen weather almost takes Dixie away from Ash. That's when he just takes her and they both act on their attraction. I loved how he told Kerry off for not being a man and saved Dixie like a knight in shining armor. I loved their happy ending because it is truly well deserved and they are just so in love and content with each other.

I had an opinion of Ash going in from the previous book and I hoped he would change it. Boy did he ever. His protective nature and the care he shows towards Dixie sealed his new opinion of him. Though things are a tad complicated since Dixie is in Alaska to marry someone else. Dixie and Ash may have flutters of attraction, but they can't act on them. I felt so bad for Dixie because her hopes and dreams of a HEA like in her books is going up in smoke. Though gut feelings could play in turning her fate. I loved that Dixie is a librarian and we have a love of books in common. This is a quick read, but an enjoyable one. Things get quite steamy. Ash has moves that's for sure.

What a great alpha mountain men. Dixie signs up to become a mail order bride and agrees to marry Kerry who lives in Matrimony, Alaska. When they meet Dixie finds out that she made a mistake and she has to come clean to Kerry and on her wedding day everything goes wrong. Dixie and Ash have a wonderful instant connection put Dixie has promised to marry another. This was a short, sweet and fun story. There was some steam but the characters are fun and lovable. First book I've read from this author and will check out some other books by her. I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The second book of the Mountain Man series was quote enjoyable.

The The Mountain Man's Runaway Bride is a story about Dixie and Ash but she's engaged to someone else. She fights the need to be with a man she felt sparks with and the man she promised to marry.

I found it funny how the pilot acted like she had cookies, probably because what happened in the first book with Agnes in the last book.

All in all I enjoyed this short read but I didn't like how we didn't really see any development between the couple. Also Dixie's fiance was a nice man, so it would've been nice to see his reaction to see his reaction to these two being together.

Every time I read a Mountain Man story, I want to hop a plane to Alaska. Ash and Dixie story had me on pins and needles up and until she finally word vomited the truth to Kerry and the most inopportune time...in front of the preacher. I was never so glad for a wedding to be called off in all my life! Ash is a panty-melting alpha who pushes all the right buttons and ticks all the boxes. The chemistry between Ash and Dixie was out of this world. Love the Mountain Man series! Wish there were more stars to give! Definite one-click, ladies.

Short and steamy!

Those first scenes in the plane are so funny! I'm sure the pilot would have loved to do more than just turn off Dixie's headphones to get her to stop talking.

I love how Dixie meets Ash. She thinks she has run into a wall. He's a wall of muscle. Their attraction sizzles. They both know they need to fight it when Kerry reminds them he is going to marry Dixie.

This book will warm you up on a cold winter night. This is a great addition to the Matrimony Alaska series. I hope you like it as much as I did.

This is the second book in the series. While they can be read as complete standalone books they were better for me read in order. This is a short instalove book. Dixie did a modern-day mail-order bride thing and now her she is in Alaska. Then she literally runs into Ash and everything changes. Ash wants what his friend Birk has with his wife. Could he have that with Dixie. Well maybe but she is set to marry another man. This book was a great read. It was funny and romantic. I liked this one just as much as the first and I look forward to more in the series. I have read a few of L. Nicole’s book and have really enjoyed all of them. Great job L. Nicole.

The Mountain Man's Runaway Bride was a very enjoyable and well written story by L. Nicole. I haven't read the rest book and I will definitely be reading it. Dixie was anxious for a change in her life so she signed up to be a mail order bride in Alaska. What she doesn't expect is her attraction to Ash, the best man! Ash cannot believe his intense attraction to his best friend's bride to be. Will Dixie say I Do to the man she promised to marry or will she follow her heart to the man she has already fallen for?

I thoroughly enjoyed this short, funny and sexy read. Dixie answers an ad for a mail order bride in Matrimony AK. She’s looking for adventure, love and happiness. The plan ride to Matrimony was hilarious. When she meets Ash Grayson , he literally ran her over when he didn’t see her coming down the walk. The moment he looks in her eyes and touches her, the sparks fly for both of them, but he’s not the man she came to AK to marry, A sweet, entertaining storyline and wonderful characters.

Ash lives in Matrimony Alaska where there are no women! So when he meets the beautiful Dixie he falls for her instantly! Only she moved there after answering an ad for a mail order bride placed by one of his friends! Dixie is instantly attracted to Ash, but is already promised to marry Kerry! Can they fight their feelings for each other? Or will they give into their passion and find their happily ever after? Another great book in the series!

So I need to start by saying that I really did like the book! I just wanted there to be more!!! It is such a fun easy read that will make you swoon. Personally I just wanted the characters to have a little more depth. Dixie came into town to marry a man before leaving him at the altar. Fortunately for her the best man decided to take his chance and go after her. He she was it for him and didn’t want to waste time

This was a fun, fast and enjoyable read. Dixie is moving to Alaska to meet her future husband after answering a mail order bride ad. The problem is that the sparks don't fly when she meets him the way that they did when she bumped into another local just after arriving. Dixie is soon faced with the decision of going through with the wedding and living a safe life of friendship or risking it all in hopes that her soul mate really does exist.

Get ready because this is a fast paced story that will definitely have you on edge wondering how everything will work out.

Dixie Sutton is ready for something new and signed up as a mail order bride for Kerry. Arriving in Alaska, she meets Ash Grayson and the two of them are definitely attracted! But she is promised to Ash’s best friend!

When her wedding day arrives, everything goes wrong, giving her time to think things over and realize maybe this wasn’t the right choice. When she runs out of the church and into a blizzard, who will be the one to follow her out and rescue her? Will Fate intervene and help her decide her future? Or has she given up her choices?
