The couple: Ash and Dixie
Romance genre: mail-order bride; insta-love
Part of a series: Yes (Matrimony, Alaska)
Length: 96 pages
Plot: Dixie, for reasons, has decided to sign up as a mail-order bride. She's on her way to meet her new husband-t0-be in Matrimony, Alaska. The first person she meets is Ash, and sparks fly. Then she meets her fiance, Kerry. Ash is in love, and Dixie can't figure out why she has chemistry with him and feels nothing for Kerry. She made an agreement though, and even though she overhears Kerry saying that he only wants a business-style marriage, no feelings, she's going through with the wedding. Or is she? (She's not.)
Character development: Ash was so...nice. He should have snatched her up and carried her off. But I get it - we need to see what an honorable guy he is. He was a good friend to Kerry, even though he didn't really want to be at that point. Kerry - what a mess! He should have been upfront with Dixie and he could have saved them all some heartbreak. But then where would the story be? Dixie and Ash were perfect together, as expected, and I hope that we'll see Kerry knocked on his butt by the next woman who shows up in Martimony!
