MY TAKE What a charming Christmas romance. Lacey is so chill and therefore so different from the kind of women Rhett's family keep wanting to set him up with. I love how she and his daughter hit it off. A lovely edition to my holiday reading.
This book was so cute and lacey and Rhett are so adorable together. Lacey met Rhett and his daughter Holly at a Christmas tree farm where a branch flung back and hit her in the nose and made it bleed, Rhett and his daughter Holly help her to make it stop bleeding and end up spending the day with them and Rhett even bought her a Christmas tree. Then they find out that all live is the same building . But then Rhetts babysitter quit on him and lacey volunteers to watch Holly for him until he got home from work. They both have sworn off relationships and with all the time they are spending together they end up having feelings for one another until someone ends up ruining it. But will they end up together or not? You will have to read in order to find out.
This book was cute but needed editing better. Grammatical errors appeared frequently throughout. The story was of Lacey and Rhett and Holly. Lacey was an art teacher who would be spending Christmas alone. Rhett and Holly had been a pair since his ex wife had left them when Holly was one. When they meet at a Christmas tree lot they discover they live in the same apartment building. Lacey begins helping Rhett with keeping Holly occupied after school. Both Lacey and Rhett have sworn off of a relationship because of their pasts. What happens when they end up under the mistletoe and share a kiss?
This is a sweet little Christmas story that fleshed out a little more could be the basis of a Hallmark movie. It is fluffy, feel good, romance. It is predictable but enjoyable if you are in the mood for a quick fluff read. It could have used some extra editing to catch things like a period in the middle of a sentence and so forth. That kind of stuff was a bit distracting, especially when I had to reread to figure out why it didn't make sense. But if you ignore that, it is a nice couple hours of escapism.
The story was okay. It reminded me of those old-fashioned Harlequin romances. I didn’t like the hero. I thought Rhett was kind of a jerk and he strung Lacey along. He didn’t treat her very well and I found him very self-centred. The romance is slow in coming. It’s a clean romance but light on the romance. I didn’t finish reading it as I lost interest after a while.
I loved the characters and really felt the emotions in this book. I wish more detail had been put into the editing as I found quite a few places where the wrong word was used such as 'day' instead of 'way'. However, the story was good enough that I could overlook all of those errors. If this was cleaned up, it would have been 5 stars for me.
This really was a sweet holiday romance book. Rhett, Holly and Lacey were mea t to be together. All of their Christmas Wishes came true. Rhett wanted his girls. Lacey wanted Christmas with the ones she loved and Holly wanted her family with Rhett Lacey. A wonderful and fulfilling story.
Rhett, Holly and Lacey meet by accident while looking for a Christmas tree. Rhett and Lacey are both hurting in their own way. They become friends when he needs a babysitter and she doesn't want to be alone for Christmas. A sweet, clean romance and Holly is a cute little girl. They almost go their separate ways because of Rhett's insecurities. A great read for the holidays.
Well done characters, both hurting, come together for the sake of convenience—he needs a babysitter and she doesn't want to be alone at Christmas time.
Predictably, they fall in love, but what a weird and wonderful voyage they take us on to get there!
This was a very sweet story. The perfect short romance to read in the Christmas season. The characters were nice and cute with real struggles. Moreover, it was a well-written novel where you easily get into the lives of the characters.
I enjoyed reading this story about Lacey, Rhett and Holly. Relationships are sometimes scary to enter into. Your past is hard to put away. Rhett had a lot to consider. Read this heartwarming story.
I have the privilege of working with Cassie. I’m glad to have found a kindred spirit in her. You can tell she is passionate about writing. I can’t wait to read more of her stories.
