Brilliant

This book rounds the series off perfectly. Joanne, the wife, is such a really strong woman who knows exactly what she wants and needs and goes about getting them, all the time loving her husband more and more as her marriage flourishes. The sex scenes are, to put it politely, fandabidosi and as horny as f..k !!! The only thing I personally wasn't keen on was the pregnancy aspect, bringing up someone else's is stupido in my eyes but "all's well that ends well" as a certain William would say! Great read, all the books, nice one C.C x

CC Morian has upped her game once again. The Wife 2 is, without a doubt, the most erotic psychological thriller I have read!

I’ll leave it to you to read the “About this Book” and I’m not going to tell you anything more because you’ll miss the thrills.

In Wife 1, we read about Preston and the Tattoo Lady. They are a mystery couple. Joanne is infatuated with Preston and the Tattoo Lady seems to be a forceful impediment to Joanne exploring Preston. How it works out rides a knife-edge throughout the story.

If you recall “The Lover”, there was a mystery man behind door number 3 on the night of Phillip’s birthday, and Joanne’s final night with Michael. That mystery scene is revealed, and it turned out totally differently than I expected.

Through all these escapades, the relationship between Phillip and Joanne strengthens, but that doesn’t mean that Phillip’s and Joanne’s marriage is out of the woods. I honestly had to keep reading because there were few clues as to how it would turn out.

Along with the mystery, the sex was genuinely off the charts. And I’m not certain I could handle any more anxiety, particularly about children mused about in Wife 1. I just had to streak to the end to settle my emotions.

Fortunately there is a great Epilogue, that comes with the book, wherein much more is explained, and relationships continue and expand.

While this is totally not a cliff-hanger, there are lots of further avenues to explore. I’m hoping this is not the finish, and we see Joanne and Phillip continue their exploration of their lifestyle. I refer to it as “their lifestyle” because it feels that it isn’t easily categorized - Hotwife just doesn’t do it justice.

5 stars also doesn’t do justice to this book, but there you have it.

I can’t wait for the next book from this insightful author with the totally wicked imagination!

Erotica, by its very nature, elicits an emotional response. If it does its job, the reader feels aroused and excited. But those emotions also cause us to identify with the characters, to want them to act in certain ways and not act in others.

I admire the main character in this series, Joanne -- how she is able to keep a husband and various lovers and enforce certain rules for them. I wanted her to have her freedom and not be constrained by anyone. The character of Preston tests her. That makes for a good story, but it's not what I wanted for her. Despite my sentimental wants, Morian wrote the book she wrote and it's the better for it.

(Near the beginning of this book, we arrive at the cliffhanger from "The Lover." I wrote in my review of that book, in the last spoiler, what I thought would happen. I was mistaken.)

There are some wild scenes in this story and in the epilogue, but they bring the series to a wonderful ending. I agree with Andrew that it would be great to read more about these characters, but I am very satisfied with the ending as it is. Joanne comes to find a humanistic philosophy of sexuality. She can get her lovers to try new things without dominating or commanding them.

A Complicated Review

So this is basically about the whole series as well as this book. I’m going to say right off the four stars is me showing respect for the authors obvious labor of love for this series. The story itself is barely two stars. So think long and hard before you invest the time it take to read the series. It is ridiculously too long and often disjointed and hard to follow. It is unbelievably unrealistic. There is no man who would willingly do what she required of her so called lovers. And no husband would do what she required either. The heroine of the series is the most selfish woman in any book I’ve read. And good grief, the epilogue of this book was beyond ridiculous which made the ending totally unsatisfying. So read at your own risk.
