USA Today Bestselling Author, Jordan Marie, writing as J. Marie, brings you a follow up story to her paranormal series in a Badlands and Eternals crossover novella.
NINE
The only memories I have are of being studied and tortured. My captors were slowly killing me.
When I got the chance to escape, I took it—even though doing so left my brothers alone in that prison.
Yet, I’m not truly free myself, because the guilt and pain eat away at me daily.
I stumbled into a place called the Badlands by accident. It’s a sanctuary for people like me—but then, I’m not like them. Not at all.
I stay, simply because I have nowhere else to go. I have nothing, definitely not a purpose to continue existing…
Until her.
LITA
You do things in life you have no choice in. I know that lesson better than anyone.
I have a job to do and that’s it. For me, it’s all about survival.
I never planned on Jay. I never planned on my reaction to him. I definitely never planned on falling in love with a man I would be forced to betray.
Welcome to the world of the Eternals. Supernatural beings finding their way in a world they don’t belong to, yet have no choice but to live in.
What I liked: I liked both the hero and heroine (Jay and Lita) and how they both need each other and help each other. It was also a nice twist her being a witch.
What I didn’t like: I really wish we got to see her use her magic. I also wish we got more of her back story.
How hot was it: 3 out 5
Triggers: None
Final thoughts: This was a quick easy read. I am looking forward to reading Seven’s and the rest of the brother’s books. They deserve their HEA after everything they went through.

I'm rating this a 3 because I don't know what I should. There's nothing wrong in this book, but there's nothing amazing in this book either. The story is plain with no mystery but you won't be bored.
I felt sad for Jay and loved how Lita taught him stuff and made him comfortable. The connection between them was shown from the start and absolutely adore them together.
This novella had great potential, but didn't contain everything that would make us go wow. The ending is very easy to with no complications at all.
Loved eternally I had no idea that there was such a fantastic storyline out there until I picked up this book. I love the characters! The author gave them such a wonderful HEA to make up for a truly tragic past. I enjoyed how these two struggled with their own past to ensure the happiness and well being of each other. The book may be a short, fast read, but the action, danger, and revelations filled each page with intensity. The author captured my attention and my heart with this book, making it impossible for me to not search for more of her eternals. I can only hope that she will bring us more of their stories soon.
First things first; I like the cover of this book! Broken mate is the eighth book in the ‘’badlands territory’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and entertaining. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. After escaping a lab, wolf shifter, Jay is broken. In need of money, Lita agrees to do a job. Her task will put Jay back in danger. Will Lita change her mind when she meets Jay? The chemistry between Jay and Lita is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
This is the next book in the Badlands Territory series but also book two in the Eternals series that Jordan has and it’s fantastic❣️Jay finds himself in Badlands Territory but is still in disbelief as he can’t quite figure out how he’s still alive, other than his wolf having saved him🤷♀️
When a beautiful woman approaches him, he feels an instant connection to her but he’s not world wise and can only assume who she is to him after listening to other’s conversations around him😢
A beautiful story and I can’t wait to read more in the Eternals series❤️ I received an advanced copy and I willingly leave my honest review😍
I just love when this author writes PNR. She wrote a story from her debut series as part of the Badlands series by numerous authors. Jay finds himself in the Badlands territory having narrowly escaped from the scientists and sadistic handlers. He is trying to come to terms with leaving his “brothers” behind and saving himself. Lita is a witch, and not a very good one, and somehow ended up Bureau’s radar. Although they got off to a rocky start because Lita was less than forthcoming with her intentions the mate bond overcomes that.
I’m really loving this storyline. I wasn’t a huge fan of anything paranormal, but Jordan Marie changed that for me. The Eternals are really becoming a phenomenal series.
Jay is convinced Lita is his mate. Lita is meant to betray Jay , but feels the connection between them immediately and can’t do it. She finds out he is one of the Eternals and tells him about Montana and his brothers. Jay thought he was the only one to escape. They are welcomed into the compound and Jay claims Lita completely.
I love shifter romances! I love it even better when there is a science fiction element. Lita has been put into a terrible position. In order to get the cash she desperately needs, she has to trick a shifter named Jay. Little did she know that her conscience would make the task impossible. Jay is just trying to live a quiet life, safe from the daily tortures inflicted on him in the lab by his captors. Meeting Lita changes him and what he wants for his future. I loved these two right from the very start; two broken, lonely people that deserve love. I cannot wait for more of the Eternals!
Let's see, hot, dirty alpha shifter? Check! A sexy and dangerous witch that doesn't need a man to take care of her? Double check! I love this little taste that we get of Jay and Lita. Jay might be a little broken with all the atrocities that happened to him but he's not out of the game yet and with Lita wrecking right into him, there are more questions now than answers. I was here for it when Jordan decided to do PNR and I am STILL here for it dying to get the rest of the Eternals stories!
When Lita is forced to confront a man to save her own life she didn't expect the jolt of electricity from their connection, Jay knew as soon as he is face to face with Lita she is the one. When Jay and Lita are faced with danger they tackle it together because mates have each others back. I was very excited to see another piece of the Elementals series come to fruition and I can't wait for more
I was hooked from the first page! Lita and Jay's chemistry was instant and their attraction for one another was 🔥🔥🔥 Although they had a rocky start, their relationship only grew and became deeper. I loved all every minute of this book and wished it would keep going! I cannot wait for what J. Marie had in store for the next book in the series!
As always Jordan Marie weave a story that is intriguing and had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Lita and Jay's story was beautifully written and the story had my heart wrenching for Jay as the story digs into his past and Lita as she has to face what she needs to do. I love that I am never disappointed in any story that Jordan Marie writes and I think this is one of my favorite books of 2020.
Great short story to add to this series. Jay is number 9, he's a wolf shifter. Lita is a witch, in her words, not a very good one. These two are stronger and more confident together. They work together to get their hea.
It seems Jordan Marie can write anything she wants. I started with her MC series and fell in love and have been a huge fan since. I am not a fan of paranormal usually but this author makes them amazing. I highly recommend this series. I know you’ll be surprised
While this story was short it packed a punch. Jay and Lita may have started out on different side, but man when they merged in the middle. I adore everything this author writes. Very much a five star read.
Jordan has written another great book. The instant attraction between Lita and Nine is great, even though at first she was there to help capture him. Nine recognised “his mate” instantly and will do anything to keep her safe. I can’t wait for the next book.
I loved Broken Mate! Finally another Externals story and having Jay find his mate thrilled me. Even though only a novella it was still a great follow up and insight and what is going in with the rest of the survivors. Looking forward to more
Really good novella. Lita is sent to do a job but when she meets Jay she can't go through with it. This is a finding yourself for both of them. This out me onto a new series.
I enjoyed reading Broken Mate. Jay and Lita, even though they were brought together under horrible circumstance they were able to find out what the future really had in store for them. I definitely recommend this book.
I definitely need to read more about the Eternals. I enjoyed Jay and Lita's story. I wondered how Vega had tracked Jay to the Badlands and his he had found Lita. I really enjoyed this book.
Lita is sent to betray Jay but she can't. Jay knows Lita is his mate so he tracks her down not expecting to be thrown back into his past, good thing Lita had already changed her mind. This is crazy and interesting read.
This was interesting and intriguing as well as mysterious and sexy. Jay and Lita are mates and even if you haven’t read the previous book, it starts making sense. There are supernaturals everywhere and I was sucked into the world of the eternals.
Loved this book! Lita was sent to betray Jay but she ended up saving him. Jay knew Lita was his mate. I’m looking forward to more of Jordan’s paranormal series.
