I am a super beginner but I saw this on sale for just a few bucks today and had to have it! I want to learn and these are so cute! Great encouragement!
There are a complete list of supplies needed and steps. In the back there are more tips too! Each step for each project has pictures.
Some of the women are Ginsberg, Goodall, Marie Currie, Queen Elizabeth II, and so many more! Jane Goodall has a little chimp too! lots of little props that make the person stand out! So cute! Great gift ideas!

A wonderful crochet book which has patterns for 15 "women who have changed the world".
The list:
Amelia Earhart, Queen Elizabeth ll, Jane Goodall, Audrey Hepburn, Billie Holiday, Cleopatra, Emmeline Pankhurst, Florence Nightingale, Greta Thunberg, Jane Austen, Malala Yousafzai, Marie Curie, Rosa Parks, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Serena Williams.
There is a short bio of each of the women and a saying from each of them. Audrey Hepburn's was my favorite. "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible!'"

The dolls are 7 3/4" tall (20 cm).

This book is perfect for the amigurumi beginner. I had a blast making a mini Jane Austen! The pattern was well written and easy to follow, and it seems that most of the dolls follow a similar pattern. I’m looking forward to making more.

I don't crochet, but this was fun to look through, and I appreciated how the author included a brief bio about each women and her significance before sharing the pictures and stitch diagrams. However, I laughed out loud at her statement that Queen Elizabeth II personally witnessed every major event of the twentieth century. So, either the queen is 120 years old, or events that happened prior to her birth date in 1926 don't count!

However, even though the book could have used some more precise phrasing there, the patterns and diagrams themselves are exceedingly detailed, and even though I was looking at this book just for fun, I think that someone who is interested in making these dolls would have all the information that they need to figure out the process. Also, as the author points out, people can consider designing their own dolls based on women who are not represented here, building on the basic instructions. I think that this is a really interesting craft for people who like to crochet, and the dolls are very well-designed.

This record is for the Spanish version, but I have the English. It's a fantastic book. If you like to crochet, these are fun patterns and are easily recognizable as the person they represent. I wish I was still a librarian or a teacher. The patterns can be used in so many ways. Beginning in the fall I would put a Christmas tree up and let the kids decorate with cutouts that they wrote their name and book on. We did that for September and October and then changed for Thanksgiving for November and Christmas for December. I had various Department 56 Children Literature ornaments to go with the theme and people started giving me more. It is a wonderful way to introduce kids to Children's literature as well as inspiring women.

Crochet Iconic Women

Excellent patterns! Very well written, a lot of details and many color photos throughout to help you along the way.
Must know how to do basic crochet stitches, its not a how to crochet book. Easy to do for advanced beginner.
I also enjoyed reading the brief history about each icon as an intro to that icons pattern.
Highly recommend!! A wonderful variety of icons featured, love the variety. I hope Carla writes another pattern book of any sort, if she does I will be first in line to buy it!

I couldn't decide if this was a three or four star book, so I thought I'd be generous because it is pretty darn good. Clear step-by-step photos with interesting short text on each of the iconic subjects. Of course, I wish there were more. Few criticisms but some colors are off. Audrey Hepburn’s hair should be darker and she should be much skinnier! I was amazed that I could recognize several of the characters at first sight. Also, a portion of the book's proceeds go to a charitable cause.

Charming! Lovely patterns with clear instructions and great photos. I look forward to making many of them. My only criticism is that the font for the pattern instructions is notably small and thin despite plenty of blank space which could be utilized to enlarge the font and improve readability. Overall an excellent crochet book that would make a great gift.

I checked this book out from the library and after a quick perusal I decided I def had to have my own copy. Really cute pattern ideas for a nice selection of iconic women - both modern day & historical. Well written patterns with helpful tips. It has been several years since I made any amigurumi characters but this book made me want to pick up my B & C crochet hooks.

I love this book! I’ve checked it out from the library multiple times - each time I think I’m done, I end up wanting to make another one. They look trickier to make than they actually are. I’ve been making them for my nieces. Highly recommend.

Overall this is a great book!! The dolls are super cute and there are so many different hair and outfit combinations that you can mix and match to create your own favorite iconic woman!!

The first doll I made was Jane Austen, and I believe the pattern for her bonnet is incorrect on round 19.

Great book!

Haven’t made a project from this yet but the instructions seem very easy to follow and there’s lots of descriptions and pictures to help you along. Cant wait to try one out.
