Celie Garcia is on a mission to find out who set her up for a dishonorable discharge and why. When tall dark and dangerous Luc “Saint” Benatou shows up in the diner she’s working at, she’s sure she can get rid of him and continue her mission. When homes start exploding and bullets start flying, however, she decides having an ex special ops soldier might be of benefit, after all. Saint is only doing a favor for a friend of his ex-rehabilitation counselor. His military career cut short with an arm amputation, Saint’s last year or so has been nothing short of deadly dull. Now, with Celie and her quest to find justice, he wonders if he can accomplish his job for The Brotherhood Protectors and get them both out of the situation in one piece.
Good book. Ms. McKeever, I realize that you are probably new to the Brotherhood Protectors and Elle James creation, but you could have researched enough to get Hank Patterson's name correct. Unless there is another Brotherhood Protectors book group with the leader named Hank Montgomery.
Saint lost his arm while serving and is feeling sorry for himself. Hank calls and offers him a job. He finally agrees to do it. Celie had been in the Army and then she was dishonorablly discharged. Plus her brother was killed while serving. She is going to find who set her up and killed her brother. Saint found Celie and they are working together. She won't stop until she gets answers. Their attraction to each other has also started something. When she finds out her father was attacked, they head to Tampa. Celie goes next door to get her dad's dog and finds more than she bargained. Will Saint get to her in time?
Nothing is as simple as it seems. What should be a fairly easy request, find and observe, turns out to be much more. The action is almost immediate and is definitely fast paced, grabbing hold of the reader and never letting go till the very end. The swiftly building, sizzling hot romance adds just the right amount of spice to keep the story interesting. Fantastic read. Highly recommend.
Saint and Celie make a great pair working to find out who killed Celie's brother Tony and her framed her so she was dishonorably discharged from the military. The chemistry between these two mesh from the start and it isn't hard for the reader to get lost in the story. McKeever crafts a good suspense with this one and keeps the reader spell-bound, giving a surprised and satisfying ending.
I'm looking forward to reading her next brotherhood book.
I really enjoyed this new addition to the Brotherhood Protectors World, Saint slowly manages to regain his confidence and self worth whilst helping Celie investigate...but when the threats become attempts on her life he questions his abilities once again...can Celie show him he is still capable? Fast paced, high action and with a twist that caught me out a great read on Kindle Unlimited.
Liked this book because it deals with two military vets, Ceclie was in the Army and dishonorably discharged supposedly for drug info on her computer and Saint was asked to help by Hank. Saint is a disabled vet with a prothesis. There is action and Ceclie is determined to prove shes innocent and clear her record. HEA
A good addition to the Brotherhood Protectors World, however, I was confused when Saint accepted a job with Hank Patterson but towards the middle of the book, he was Hank Montgomery. Editing or ARC readers should have caught that. The story is action-packed, character-driven, and has plenty of mystery to keep you interested.
Saint met Celie when he was hired to be her bodyguard. At first she wasn't thrilled, but when bullit's started flying she was glad she had him with her. It took a little while for them to really warm up to each other, but when they did they were all in.
This was a pleasant book. Saint and Cecilia (Celie) came together to find out who set her up to be dishonorably discharged and responsible for her brother's death. Their attraction was instant, but they didn't let it distract them from the importance of learning the truth and locating the person responsible. At first, Saint was a little hesitant because of his prosthetic arm, but I loved that Celie immediately let him know it didn't make him less of a man. The story is action-packed, fast-paced, interesting, and heartfelt. Together these two were a great team, determined not to let anything or anyone stop them. They also had some awesome backup with Hank, the other Brotherhood Protectors, Celie's dad, uncle-friend, all former military. Another military must-read.
