A horror/mystery saga into the depths of a haunted theater! Recently reconstructed, the formerly burned down Cherokee Theater is once again open for business. After receiving an invitation, three friends decide to check out the theater, curious as to what all the hype's been about. Part of a series of interconnected horror novels that can be read in any order. Each book serves as a stand alone story, yet builds a greater picture behind a sinister mystery in Chicago.
Now, I ended up reading this in a single sitting after joking about one of the characters in the book.
Jokes and memes aside, this book is actually a decent piece of horror fiction. The writing has improved massively since Call of the Crocodile. The cast of characters no longer feel like they're all played by Adam Sandler and the dialogue between all of the characters feels natural. The pacing is good and the final few chapters are great but it's not because the book's almost over.
I had fun reading this book and I'm looking forward to reading more of the Horror's Call series.
A decent short-ish story. Lots of twists, and the end is a nice callback to the beginning. Some small editing errors that could have been removed like spelling/grammar in some places.
