What if the mirror does reflect what’s inside? Mercenary Vick Corren is steadfast in her love for empath Kelly LaSalle. When it comes to her love of herself, not so much. After an acidic-lake dunking on a distant moon shows Vick what’s really beneath her synthetic skin, it doesn’t matter that she heals. All she can see is the metallic shell of the soldier she once was. It’s a cruel reminder that she’s a cyborg. An AI. Less than human. And that's not Vick's biggest problem. Her clone, the sadistic VC2, is on the loose and on the hunt. Her mission? Eliminate Vick and make Kelly her own. Can Vick resolve her crippling identity crisis in time to defeat VC2—a terrifying version of herself that she might have been if not for Kelly’s love?

What an awesome end to the trilogy!

Vick and Kelly together are just perf... I love'em, and that ending! I'm sad for some of the loss that occured but my goodness these two deserve everything and more.

This is a pretty gruesome story, violent and brutal. It fits with the world Ire created and it's entertaining as heck!

I read as fast as I could in some parts, I was on pins and needles! As the third book in the series I thought the author couldn’t surprise me anymore. Boy, I was wrong. I throughly enjoyed this book. It is as least as good as the first and second one.
Is it too much to hope for a fourth?
I highly recommend these books.

A great capstone to the trilogy (so far?). I think this is some of the best character-driven sci-fi ever. The psychological aspects of the story are extremely well written. The action and suspense are excellent. The humorous touches are just spot on.

Stormfronts: All three books

The world building, character development and writing style are sublime.

The story is filled with well written and nail biting action that kept me thoroughly engaged. Occasionally violent and boundry pushing but no where near gruesome.

The romance between Vic and Kelly is believable and beautiful and filled with real and relatable challenges.

The relationship between Vic and her AI is interesting. VC1 became one of the best characters in the series and often times hilarious especially in the third book.

Vic's character growth is one hell of a rollercoaster but all worth the ride. I loved the depiction of trauma and PTSD as facets to a much stronger character. It was bever written off as weakness but helped to show how strong she is and how far she came.

Loved the ending and will 100% re-read, otherwise I'll just miss the characters too much!
