After ‘The Hunted’ and ‘The Rules’ comes ‘The Choice’ the last in this more than gritty powerful gangland trilogy I would say all 3 should be read as it is a continuing story, the other 2 are great as well The families and cast are back for this the last outing, and what an outing, Mike and Zara are taking no prisoners but then nor are their enemies and all of them are determined to cause havoc and chaos and dish out revenge, the grislier the better It is a very real, full of action, at times violent, no nonsense book and the action really doesn’t let up, as soon as one situation ends the next arises and with time running out there can only be 1 victor Some of it will shock but all will keep you riveted to what is happening and what is going to happen next, there are some blood curdling surprises Wonderful characters, some rogues, some evil, some likeable, some definitely unlikeable but all go towards making this a terrifyingly great book in its genre I am just kinda sorry there isen’t a Book 4
Oh. My. God. What an ending to this trilogy and a pretty amazing one at that! This was merely the cherry on the cake with this trio of books and my recommendation would be to buy all three. They are definitely making it into my top ten reads in this genre for the year!!! If you do plan on reading them in order, it’s probably best not to read on because there will inevitably be spoilers.
We return to Zara and Mike Regan along with Willie, Lou and Staffie. Alongside them we see their kids and we return to Ricky’s dilemma following his stay in hospital. From the very start of the book the action takes a front seat and pretty much stays there the entire book. Considering this is the last in the trilogy this didn’t surprise me as there is a lot going on.
The story line doesn’t need to be repeated in my review but I was surprised at a few events that unfolded. Having said that there wasn’t a moment in this book I didn’t enjoy. This is a prime example of what a British Crime writer should be doing, and boy has Kerry Barnes got it right! I was enthralled with this latest book but luckily I realised I have yet to read another of her books Deceit so I am off to start that!
Wow what a book,i have loved reading about Mike,Zara,Lou,Willie,Eric along with their crews and families.Mike and Zara and the others have just walked away from the hanger where they had tortured the man they called the governer along with his son's and grandaughter. But they didn't know that someone was waiting for them to leave, when the figure appeared and released him and his grandaughter but his sons were dead. When Zara and Mike receive a call to say they had gone Zara then remembered the remote for the hanger door she realised she had left it behind.I won't spoil the book for others but i must say this has to be the best book yet i was gripped and didn't want to put it down and if i could i would give more than 5*.Well done Kerry Barnes you are a FANTASTIC writer and i look forward to more from you.
What a read. Loved this book and the characters.really couldn't put it down.So glad I joined the notrights book club on facebook. Would have missed this fantastic author . Wow ....what a ride . Didnt want it to end. The twits and turns you don't see coming are brilliant . Thanks for an amazing read . Can't wait to read more of your books now I've finished this trilogy 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
In my last review I said “In future I will stick to what I know and read them. Due to the fact that I could of read it quicker” well that didn’t happen so I take back what I said because even though it is quicker to read. It was just easier to listen to The Choice on audio and I love the narrator. Who once again has done a brilliant job of bringing this story to life. Even though I think Kerry’s story telling is out of this world and must make it easy for Annie Aldington.
If you didn’t already know I have read all of Kerry’s books and I am actually running out of words to describe how fantastic she is and she sure has hell never disappoints.
The Choice is the last instalment of the trilogy. If you haven’t read The Hunted and The Rules then please read them first. This book is an excellent ending to to the trilogy.
And like always will tie you up in knots! What more can I say but I loved it and highly recommend it along with all of Kerry’s other books. I don’t need to tell you how good this is read it for yourself and find out.
Kerry is a must read for all gangland fans and I cannot wait to see what is in store for us next
What a fantastic final book in this series. As soon as I opened the first page I felt I was back among friends and was totally gripped by the thrill of Kerry's writing. She is one very talented lady and her books keep you on the edge of your seat, pining to get back to the pages when you have to put it down. I just want my life to stand still whilst I devour every thrilling page. Then start up again when I've finished. Mikey, Zara, and their crew are all likable characters. I loved living life through their eyes and enjoying the warmth, trust, and love they have for each other. Don't get me wrong this is not a sloppy slushy love story, this is hardened people, with violence at it's worst. Making your eyes water and goosebumps come up all over your body. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. But I'm pretty sure it's going to be as hot as this one. Well done Kerry. Your one smart lady xx
I recommend reading the first two books, before starting. It will make sense then.
This is a story about characters you will love. Then there’s the crooks you will hate.
Zara is my favourite character. She can fight as best as any man! Than there is Mike. He knows heartache but never gives up. His family is his everything. He is vicious when needed, but loving to his family and looks after his team.
A superb ending to this fast paced gripping trilogy. Kerry is undeniably the new title holder queen of crime. Her books never disappoint. The hunt for the man being the Flavva continues and with Torvic in holding it is only a matter of time before the Ezra/Regan firm get to the bottom of.
this book and series is an absolute read this author just gets better with each book and a very devious mind you smashed it Kerry barnes with this book I so love the characters in this book I highley recommend a must read
This was a really good book that kept me captured til the early hours of the morning. I loved the characters and the storyline so much so I'm glad the next book is available.
I don't think I've ever given Kerry Barnes less than 5 stars. I've never needed to either! Just brilliant. If you don't believe me, read it. If you have read it because of this review.......You're welcome
What a heart read. I have read all the others I this series and they are all great books. This one was amazing and i would recommend this book with chive stars
I have been a fan of Kerry’s work for a while now. I haven’t quite caught up with everything that she has written to date but I am slowly getting there. I read the synopsis for ‘The Choice’ and it certainly sounded like the kind of read I have come to expect from Kerry- a gritty, gripping, action packed, chilling thriller. Well it was certainly all that and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘The Choice’ but more about that in a bit. I was drawn into this book from the moment I read the synopsis and the story within the covers of the book sealed the deal as it were. I started reading only intending to read a couple of chapters but well over six chapters later, I was still sat there reading. I found that ‘The Choice’ was simply unputdownable. The book wasn’t exactly glued to my hand but it might as well have been because it travelled everywhere with me. Even though the characters scared the doo doo out of me, I just couldn’t bear to miss a single second of the story. I managed to finish the book in just under 12 hours which is pretty good going for me. I found ‘The Choice’ to be the true definition of an unputdownable, page turner of a read. I found ‘The Choice’ to be gripping and gritty. ‘The Choice’ is superbly written but then I think that to be true of all of Kerry’s books that I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing. She certainly knows how to grab your attention and draw you into what proves to be one hell of a story. For me, the story hit the ground running and maintained a fast pace throughout. Reading ‘The Choice’ felt like being on one hell of a scary and unpredictable rollercoaster ride of a read with several twists and turns along the way. Just when you thought that you could take a moment to catch your breath and gather your thoughts then off the action would go again. Certain descriptions of the violence used, made me wince and at times I almost had to read through my fingers as I feared what was going to happen next. I felt as though I was part of the story myself which is all thanks to Kerry’s very vivid and realistic storytelling. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of ‘The Choice’ and I would recommend it to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Kerry’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.
Thanks for allowing me to read this Arc. The third and final one in the trilogy. I would advise everyone to read the three of them because that way you won't miss out on a single word!! All three are beyond brilliant. Kerry Barnes is an exceptionally gifted author who never fails to keep us gripped and on the edge of our seats. OK there might be some pretty gruesome parts in the book but they just add to the brilliance.
I waited so long for this and it was worth waiting for. My only disappointment was that I finished the book as it being the last in the series, I was torn with wanting to get to the end and not wanting it to finish. As usual Kerry kept us guessing and I was convinced I knew who Striker was but I was wrong. I definitely recommend reading this and all Kerry's other books.

The third book in the series and I loved it.Kerry Barnes knows how to keep you turning the pages and engrossed till the end of the book though I really didn't want it to end.I love all Kerry Barnes books. If you haven't read her books before then definitely give them a read you'll definitely enjoy and recommend them to your friends ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is,the third and final book in The Hunted series and it was another gripping and thrilling read. I’ve loved all the books in this series and this one was no exception. A cast of brilliant characters and a great storyline. It’s a gritty and at times stomach churning read. Kerry Barnes certainly doesn’t hold back and it’s one of the reasons I love her books.
Kerry Barnes you are brilliant. I have loved this trilogy. I couldn't put it down and I'm sad that Mike and Zara story has finished but I am looking forward to the next one.
What an amazing read and this author never disappoints me with her excellent reads, I don't think that's not a book of hers that I've not read..... we want more we want more
I chose to give this book 1star because there are2 many characters in the story . I found it very hard to follow and there were a lot of boring pages i skipped through.
Wow a real edge of your seat story line , a rollercoaster of a book , a great ending to this series, highly recommend this series 10/10 and 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Also brilliantly narrated by Annie Arlington
Another fantastic book by this outstanding writer and what a way to finish this brilliant series, as brutal as ever and loved how it tied up all the loose ends. If gangland books are for you then you will love Kerry Barnes! As always for Kerry’s books an easy five stars.
I loved reading about Zara , Mike and the gang.. I couldn't put it down.i I was quite sorry when I came to the end. I recommend this book if you like Martina Cole
