A string of misfortune begins when Captain Fred asks Breeze and Marie to leave his marina. There has been trouble close to him, thanks to Breeze. The couple departs on friendly terms and takes refuge in Pelican Bay. Soon enough, Fred needs a favor. He asks for his yacht to be delivered from Fort Myers Beach to Nags Head. The neglected vessel suffers one breakdown after another. Upon arrival after a long and arduous journey, they are promptly fired upon. They make a narrow escape, leaving Fred’s boat in Wanchese. Subplots abound including a wedding for Breeze and Marie and an unexpected trip to Mar-a-Lago to meet with the President. Once these distractions are put aside, a scheme is launched to draw out the hunters and finish the cat and mouse game once and for all. It almost goes according to plan.
Breeze and Marie have done it again! I also enjoyed the political and religious thoughts, and I agree that too many people take offense rather than take it as dialogue providing differing points of view. After all, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, right? I was marginally disappointed that the end was rather abrupt. I can't wait for the next one!!! Bonnie
Wow let me say this was one dam great read and more than I considered sitting here in costa Rica it alwAys does my heart good to read a good book and this is one of those you don't forget...Breeze Marie and Jean will be around some more good going.. Pur a vida and hope the election toon goes well if not I will stay here in the land of good living watching my farm grow ciao my amigos..
Between the pages of preaching, this is not a bad book! The story is a continuation of Breezes life adventures! I hope he and Marie have further adventures. I also hope Mr. Robinson can stay away from focus groups! His writing takes downturns when he involves them! But, like a famous man said "you can't please all the people all the time"! Good luck with future books!
Just finished reading this book at 2:15am. I told myself that I was only going to read a couple of chapters before bed... Oh well, sleep is over rated, and this book is definitely worth staying up for! As always, a great story line that is well told. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend reading it.
I live in FL and read each book with my cell phone open to Google Earth. I love to observe all of the marinas and restaurants discussed. I've stayed on my boat in Pelican Bay, and hitch hiked to Roanoke Island when I was in college. A great way to quarantine.
Ed Robinson takes Meade Breeze through our pandemic woes beautifully. Breeze is starting to feel his age but his convictions, morals and sense of justice are unchanged. This novel is stunningly written and confidently reminds me that the best people working towards a common goal can find ways to enjoy life in any situation. Long Live Breeze!
I have read all the Breeze series and this was a deep disappointment. Way too much political rant, way too much introspection from Breeze and Marie with endless dialog to little purpose. Finally, very little action with no real explanation of history of origin. Very confusing and very disappointing. I expected better.
I chose this raring because I have read everyone of Ed Robinson's books and have enjoyed everyone of them. I like the banter between Marie's mother and Meade. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a book that captures your attention so much that you can't put it down.
Great point of view of today's political and religious environment in the US
I wish I didn't have to have the media's opinion shoved down my throat every day. It is sad that the herd mentality has taken over our lives. This book points out some of the problems that the media has helped create in a non threatening manner to the folks that have been suckered in.
I have read each of the books Mr Robinson has written. Each book is great. They have their own unique story but combine each book together. I like the modern day adds about the problems in our country. Go Breeze! Can't wait for the next one.
I like the Breeze guy. And I think his new wife is great! I've read most all of the books that Ed Robinson writes and he foes a out standing job! Please more Breeze books!!!
Leave the politics aside. Last book and this , the politics and such made for a lousy read. As it stands the facts show how wrong those thoughts are and just who is responsible. Enough from Ed and Breeze, onto better.
Skipped a good portion of the book. Breeze and Marie meeting with #1 (I won’t mention the name), too unreal. Also, writing Breeze’s opinion about current world events, sounded more like your opinion.
One last one to go. I have been reading this series for about four weeks now, and am very sad to find this author recently passed away suddenly from cancer. May he rest in peace.
Soooo glad to lay the Wu flu, the commie cooties to rest. I hope they stay dead. I lived the insanity, I had the mess and survived. In my 80's. Screw the flu. Sail on,Breeze! Or I probably say motor on!
As always Ed Robinson wrote another amazing book. Eds writing makes you not to be able to put the book down until the last page is read. Great job as always Ed Robinson!!!
Breeze has way too much common sense and it's so refreshing! The ending surprised the heck out of me - did not see that coming. Another excellent Breeze book!
Well, that was disappointing. Certainly not up to Ed robinson's usual writing. The plot was missing and the story just went in circles. The writing really made apparent how selfish Breeze is. I really disliked all the political narrative..... I am a Democratic and couldn't wait for January 20th. Trump is a boob and we are all waiting for his misdeeds to catch up with him. Life is sane once again. If this was your last book, Ed, sorry but you didn't end with a winner. R.I.P.
I won’t spoil the adventure for you but it definitely continues. I love how Ed brings in the current politics and all the BS mask requirements. I wish Ed and Kim good karma and hope the country is painted in RED in November :)
