Damn,this one was hot,even though it was short!
Bianca may have been a “bit of trouble”,but she didn’t deserve to be trown out of her pack like that!
Her brother,alpha Frank,had had enough with her fooling around,and sent his beta,Ryder,to escort her to another pack after giving her her first punishment.
No wonder she had trouble accepting she had to stay there….
But her “new” pack’s beta,Nick,knows she’s his mate,and he makes no secret of it.

'Claiming His Mate' is the prequel to Delta James' "Wayward Mates" series. Poor Bianca has been let run loose with no boundaries or guidance by her father, the alpha, and then when he passed it was by her brother. Even their beta didn't seem to have much of a backbone. The situation progressed to a point where no male within her own pack or those in the surrounding area would even consider her as mate material. As a matter of fact, males and females alike were starting to leave the pack because of her disruptions and shenanigans. That's when her brother decided to have his beta find her, discipline her (for the first time) if need be, and take her to the Calon Gwyllt pack in hopes the alpha might take her as a mate and keep her under control. Needless to say, Bianca isn't happy about any of it. Nick is the beta in the Calon Gwyllt pack and it's his responsibility to discipline the unmated females when necessary. It becomes more than a responsibility when he realizes Bianca is his fated mate and she's not the well-mannered, quiet, submissive he's been hoping to get. This was a great opening storyline giving information on the Ruling Council, the Calon Gwyllt pack and ruling members, rumors pertaining to the European packs, and the mentality of some of the other local packs. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Since when is beating someone okay?
I would have given the author more stars for a well written story but...beating and treating females as property is barbaric. No one can tell me that what these males did wasn't abuse.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!
What a page-turner of a story with fascinating characters, plenty of angst, attitude, and decisions to be made. I found these stories very different from most shifter stories. The Story will have an Alpha pawning his wayward sister off on another pack, hoping the Alpha will take her to mate—but, that won’t be the case, instead, Beta, Nick will discover that Bianca is his fated-mate. While this is an ongoing saga, there is enough back information within this story to keep a reader updated and could be read as a stand-alone.
“Wolf-shifter packs are patriarchal in nature. Men are dominant. Women are cherished but submissive to their male counterparts. Packs are led by three ranked members—the Alpha, the undisputed leader, whose word is law; the Beta, his right hand and enforcer; and the Omega, the diplomat and peacekeeper.”
Bianca Salvatore is a spoiled she-wolf who has never been disciplined. Her father and now her brother have allowed her to run wild. She had created a name for herself, even among other packs, for being out of control. When her brother contacts Dylan of Calon Gwyllt, they agree to take her in. What a shock when the Beta, Nicholas ‘Nick’ Russo, discovers she is his fated mate.
“Bianca loved being in control.”
Nick Russo is Beta to Calon Gwyllt, and while he is waiting for his fated mate, he desires one who will be compliant, easy to get along with, and not cause trouble. What a surprise when he meets Bianca, and she is anything but what he thought he wanted.

The story’s plot will have Bianca being delivered to Calon Gwyllt, and she assumes her desire not to be there will allow her to leave. Life is going to change and drastically from what she has been allowed to get away with. Nick isn’t a man who allows any of the she-wolves to run over him—and what a shock when he realizes that this one is his fated mate.

Finding her fated mate
What happens when a born female shifter is spoiled by a doting father and brother. She becomes a brat. Bianca is used to doing what she wants, when and who she wants. Why should the males of her pack be the only ones who can play. Nick is the Beta wolf of his pack and is not looking forward to seeing the brat of another pack but if needed he will discipline and teach her how to behave. Imagine when these two meet and Nick realises that Bianca is his fated mate. I would highly recommend this book to all who love great romantic shifter tales and feel that readers will enjoy this story as much as I did.

It’s a shame that, when surrounded by alpha males, no one had the strength to guide Bianca on the path of peace. Thank goodness for those betas who know just the kind of boundaries and reinforcements that she needs. This book is the perfect lead into a new series. The characters are fantastic and I can’t wait to see who finds their HEA next. And the story was interesting and detailed enough to draw me until the very last page. I can’t wait to read more by the author.

Incredibly disappoinring
The heroine had it right . The guy was abusive. She should have added he didnt deserve a mate. If theres a war I wouldn't mind if he and she gets killed in it. This is not a couple who inspires sympathy.

Exciting
Not everyone's cup of tea but so very well written and an exciting storyline. I love the strong and feisty female shifter raised by slightly weak males, she might not get what she wants but she gives them a run for their money. Love the domination.

I don’t usually read shifter stories. Every now and then I like to throw one into the mix. I actually really enjoyed Bianca and Nick. So freaking hot. Biancas bratty but got a good lesson on discipline!

This book takes place before book 1, Brought to Heel. Bianca was one tough cookie with a very strong personality. Her behavior was terrible and her attitude was even worse. She sent any possible mates from the surrounding packs running even though she was beautiful. They did not want to deal with her, not even her own pack. As the alpha’s sister, she was never disciplined. Her brother, sent her to Dillon Grainger's pack where she meets Nick who is Dillon's beta. She hates him immediately, initially, and gave him a run for his money. Her behavior issues did not last long with Nick. It took her a little while to accept that Nick was her fated mate. This was a very good book and introduction to the Wayward Mates series.

Nick was the Beta for the pack and had decided he would only mate with his fated mate, so he was truly shaken when he met Bianca and realised the unruly troublemaker was actually his fated mate.
This is an exciting read, that takes you through Bianca journey to learning to acknowledge and accept Nick as her mate. It is an entertaining and enjoyable read, that you won’t be able to put down.

She's not given a choice to leave, and she's made to submit via non-consensual spanking--though that's the custom for her kind.
This book has fated mates, enemies-to-lovers (at least for Bianca), an interesting shifter society, hot sex, and what I imagine is a good introduction to the series.

Bianca is a purebred wolf shifter and out of control, when her Alpha pack leader and brother sends her to another pack in hopes she mates with Dylan, an alpha. Nick is the pack beta and realizes she is his fated mate and the "fun" starts. Nick is a no nonsense beta in the pack and Bianca doesn't know a day of discipline until Nick takes her in hand. I loved Bianca's crazy spirit at every turn and the heat between Nick and her.

The only issue that i have with this novel is i was disappointed that "the knot" was not used on her first mating by her fated mate. It mentions at the beginning of the novel that this was what she missed with humans and wanted to experience it with a wolf but it never happened with her fated mate... Other than that little disappointment i loved this novel.

I loved this story and looking forward to the next one in the series. The disciplinary action was different, something that I’d not read before, but the results were sexy and sensual. This was a great read about attitude changing in a spoiled and stubborn mate.

I love Bianca and Nick. She is a fiesta spoiled brat and he’s a dominant beta that doesn’t put up with nothing. She gets the spanking of her life and it is fire. I love the chemistry between these characters. Darby’s story was the first I read out of the series and this was a nice treat.
