I didn’t mean to walk in on Will, my nerdy best friend, naked and pleasuring himself. But ever since I saw what the Clark Kent lookalike was hiding under his Superman T-shirts and Star Wars pyjamas, I’ve been unable to stop thinking about his…lightsaber. Yes, touching him would be great, finding out what he tastes like, amazing, but our friendship means too much to risk.
After suffering a devastating loss, I lost myself. Will found me, held me, made me believe I could carry on. Volunteering at a sexual health clinic gave me purpose and a new focus to make a porn film that would take out the smut and replace it with love, realism and the message of safe, consensual sex.
But to do that, I need Will again…as a photographer who can adapt his skills to filming porn…
And definitely NOT for sexy sexcapades…
So, I’ll stick to the banter with an edge of snark we do so well, project my sexual tension into the scene I’m directing, ignore his magnificent ass as he films the pop shot, and keep pretending that my best friend doesn’t make me want to risk it all.
I didn’t mean to walk in on Will, naked and pleasuring himself. The same way I didn’t mean to fall in love on a porn set.
Lynsey M. Stewart enjoys writing stories about characters that experience a few bumps in the road before finding their happily ever after (also known as contemporary romance with plenty of heat) She lives with her husband, her soulmate and muse, along with their gorgeous, precious, ridiculously independent little girl. Lynsey began writing after being inspired by great books, amazing writers and wonderful stories that she couldn't stop thinking about long after reading the last word. If she’s not writing, you can usually find her with her head in a book or singing along to music. She’s hopeless, but she enjoys pretending to be Adele every once in a while.
Be enough for yourself first because how can you be enough for anyone else? An emotional rollercoaster reading experience! This story is in Lynsey’s usual style of catching your heart, giving it a good blitz; feeding you the side splitting funny events, which you’re just recovering from when she blasts you with an emotional wtf event. The story focuses on Skye, a rainbow syrup, bubblegum-haired woman and the invisible ptsd she is living with. Alongside her friendship with Stace (who we met in one night only) and Will, the rocklike superman who supportively waits in the background, for Skye to realise their friendship is so much more. Get this, there are two happy ever afters 🌈🎉
If you have not clicked this book, then you are seriously missing out on an incredible book. Skye and Will are so perfectly imperfectly for each other! Will gets caught having zoom sexy time in Skye’s apartment not knowing that she would be coming home, and boy does Skye get an eyeful of gloriousness! Now that Skye has seen what hides under Will’s clothes, she cannot stop thinking about it as hard as she tries. And Will’s subtle comments about that night they were not supposed to mention are chipping away at Skye’s determination not jumping at Will.
I feel Will helps Skye to open and slowly come back to the person she was before she the devastating loss. We get more on this so have the Kleenex ready because it is heartbreaking. Getting to see the relationship develop between Will and Sky had me getting giddy and hoping. This story was more than I expected and am thankful to Author Lynsey M. Stewart for the ARC. Kara~5 Stars
Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. As expected, Lynsey Stewart puts her unique twist on the age-old story of longing for more but being afraid of losing what you have.
Will and Skye, friends for years, find themselves in unchartered territory when Skye decides she wants to make a different kind of porn—loving, consensual, connected, and safe. Of course she asks her best friend and photographer, Will, to assist, and he is helpless to say no to her. As part of her atonement over guilt over her little brother’s suicide, Skye throws herself into advocating and supporting the LGBTQ community in Brighton. I admire her devotion so much, and the entire book is populated with gorgeously written characters. The LGBTQ clinic’s Dr. Chris, porn director Margot, sex shop’s Mickey and Robson are richly written, and I want to be friends with all of them. They all could have easily been written as caricatures, but each is penned with care and love.
Matt and Stacey from One Night Only (highly recommend) are key parts of the book, as there is some time overlap that dovetails nicely into Will and Skye’s story.
While the film is the hook, the book at its core explores fear and pain and loss. Skye’s feelings of abandonment, Will’s low-key anxiousness of not being where he wants in his career or love life, and how our decisions in one part affect the other. How each of them comes to terms with the things that keep them from loving one another well made me cry in their honesty. It was painful, but in the best way—where it breaks the reader and then remakes you better than before.
As expected, Stewart writes longing and the buildup to intimacy with a mastery that makes it seem simple. It’s hot but never tawdry, and always addresses the emotional maturity of safe sex and limits without being preachy. I wish more authors would take her lead in this aspect, and her technique translates beautifully to Skye’s film.
One Take Only is paced well, has great chemistry, well written characters I love, and made me cry with its frankness. Cannot recommend enough!
After reading One Night Only, I was intrigued about Will and Skye. I loved the relationship these two had--so much fun banter! I was expecting some sort of light-hearted friends to lovers story and it IS partly that, but it goes so much deeper. I had the full spectrum of emotions throughout this book and enjoyed it very much.
There is no other word to describe Will and Skye other than perfection. These two completely gripped me. From the lighthearted and funny to the angsty and heartbreaking, this story has and is everything.
This book has such a tender balance of light and positivity and angst and sorrow. Will and Skye’s friendship (and snarky, nerdy banter) was a thing of beauty. At times they seemed so much like frenemies that I couldn’t stop laughing but when they really needed each other, all hints of snark and sarcasm were gone.
It’s not often I wish that there were more than a 5-Star rating but this book is definitely one of them. Between the hot nerd and insanely hot movie making, this book deserves all the stars!
I am such a huge fan of friends-to-lovers stories, so when I found out that this one was in that trope, I definitely had to snatch it up. I loved every moment of this story and couldn't put it down.
Will and Skye have such an incredible connection from the very beginning, and I fell so hard for them as a couple and individually. What they go through throughout the story, and what happens as they overcome those challenges, made me love this story. Skye is one of my favorite female characters that I've read this year; on the inside, she has dealt with so much in her life, but on the outside, she is a powerhouse who will go to the ends of the earth to achieve her goals. And then there's Will - nerdy, swoonworthy, book boyfriend perfection Will - who will go to those ends with her and complements her in so many ways, even if Skye doesn't really see it at first.
This book took me on more of an emotional rollercoaster than I was expecting, so be prepared for this one to hit you in the feels. Stewart does such a fantastic job of balancing the happy and sad, the lows and the highs, and I just can't rave about this book enough.
This author takes the friends-to-lovers trope to a new level with Will and Skye. It is a full-length novel written in first person from dual POV. Will has loved Skye since he met her. He has suppressed his feelings for several reasons. His fear of losing her from his life entirely outweighed his desire to risk what they had as friends for something that he wanted them to be. He has been rock-steady for Skye, always there to help and support her in any way she needs. They have a lively, snarky banter with each other that is fun and amusing as they both stifle their real feelings. To say that Skye has some baggage would be an understatement. She is a little lost. She is buried in grief, guilt, and fear. And she is in complete denial. At the same time, she is working hard, is successful in her business ventures, and is making an impact volunteering at the LGBTQ+ clinic. I love that Will sees her as she is, loves and supports her, and wants more for her than she thinks she deserves. I love how tender they are with each other when they let down their guard and become vulnerable. They have plenty of chemistry, and when things heat up between them it is real and raw. Will leaves her so many little notes: reminders of how valuable she is to him and to the world. He is 100% swoon-worthy, nerdy, a little awkward, and I loved him. In addition to the love story as Will and Skye’s relationship evolves into something more, the book deals with real issues in a realistic way. The story addresses some of the mixed and sometimes dangerous messages that are present in the porn that is so readily available. It touches on how that can impact people, especially teens and those coming to terms with their sexuality. It boldly addresses how difficult it can be for teens to come to terms with their sexuality and how at risk they can become for suicide. The story addresses safe and consensual sex, emotional connection in a sexual relationship, and sexual health (along with conversations about that that are often awkward, though it should not be.) Skye’s grief is palpable. Her guilt and her denial of the impact of events on her mental health felt very realistic. I was happy to read about her journey to a better mind set, her growth through the course of the book, and her ability to accept and love herself. I especially loved when she was able to give her all to a HEA with Will. Don’t think this is a light and fluffy read, though there are certainly light and funny moments mixed in. This author writes books that are deep and pack an emotional punch. I always know I will get a book that makes me think and this one did not disappoint. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance review copy from the author.
Get ready for a different and very current type of story. Bring your tissues because you will may feel emotions you didn’t know you had. Right from the jump you’ll laugh and wonder where this is headed. It definitely delivers the laughs. Not long after you will divert to a host of emotions that will deal with some pretty heady issues. No worries, this book has a great balance of laughs, great banter and some WOW factors. You will fall in love with Will. I did from the start. Who doesn’t love the adorable nerd. There’s something inherently sexy about a glasses wearing comic nerd. Then there’s Skye, a human unique in every way. What we learn is that when people don’t conform they’re seen as odd, different, maybe weird. I say, Thank goodness for these people. Without them Disney World might not exist, the telephone and car might not have been invented. The list of people like this goes on and on. Usually there are moments in our lives that send us on a course of action. Something that has affected us and at times sets us on a mission. This is that case in the story. That being said when this happens we become blind to events, people and other things that get in our way. Tunnel vision becomes natural because of our goals. We lose sight of other things and take things and people for granted. I won’t go into that because you really need to read this book. Where’s the fun if I tell you the story?
What you get are beautiful moments, characters that you may or may not have met in other stories and insight into the minds and hearts of quirky beautiful people who are struggling to get through not only their current life but what molded them into being who they have evolved. Sometimes we don't even realize who we have become or what we are refusing to face. Sometimes we blame ourselves for things that are out of our control and don’t know how to release ourselves from this cycle. We feel guilty to be happy.
This author has continued to amaze me with the way she branched out in not only her writing but how she has taken a road less traveled story wise. Just when you think you know her style she hits you with a curve ball and it has certainly paid off. She writes from the heart. It’s not only entertaining, it’s smart, funny, current, heartfelt and needed. I can’t wait to see where she takes me next!
Lynsey M. Stewart has penned an emotional and thought-provoking story that I absolutely loved. I have a habit of getting lost in Lynsey’s words and connecting with her characters as if they were my real-life friends. My expectations when I open a book written by Lynsey is high and One Take Only met every one of them….. it is perfect! This is a story that will stay with me for a very long time to come.
Skye is an incredible person and I adore her determination and strength. She’s unique in her style; a great friend to have and puts 100% into everything that she does. I hate that she’s been hurt so many times and I completely understood her struggles. She deserves happiness and I hoped that Will would indeed be the one to compliment her.
If you have read any of Lynsey’s books you will already know that she gives us the most incredible leading men. Will has the biggest heart and a fabulous personality. He’s amazing in every way and I know you will fall in love with him just as I have!!
The supporting characters in One Take Only added to Skye and Will’s story perfectly. If you have read One Night Only you will already know Stacey and Matt and I am certain that I’ll never tire of being back in their company.
Skye’s journey is one that I found heartbreaking at times and had me reaching for the tissues. I also found myself smiling and laughing throughout this story too. This author proves herself time and time again to be the queen of writing an emotional roller coaster of a story, whilst addressing real life situations and delivering powerful messages. Lynsey also knows how to write the most incredible sexy times and I’m certain you’ll need a cold shower after certain scenes which I cannot wait for you to discover.
This friends-to-lovers story will have you rooting for the couple from the go! Will and Skye have an incredible friendship and I adore their banter. There is an undeniable attraction to each other and their sexual chemistry is off the charts! From the very beginning I hoped that they would find the courage to take their relationship to next level because I honestly felt that they are so perfectly suited to each other.
One Take Only deserves more than the five stars I am able to award it. It goes without saying that I highly recommend this story to you to read.
I have read a few books by Lynsey so I knew how talented she was but this surpassed by expectations. This is a friends to lovers romantic comedy. I was giggling all the way throughout this book. The sexual chemistry was off the charts but the friendship and how supportive of one another just made you smile.
These two characters are introduced in one night only. Both books can be read as standalones but why not read both so you can get a sense of their relationship before the book.
When Skye is given a project to create a video for the LGBTQ+ clinic she volunteers for and comes up with creating a porn to give the young a realistic look at what sex is. When she gets Will on board what starts off with two friends working together grows into pent up feelings they both held onto from the moment they met and because of that things just felt so beautiful and I swooned how alpha Will was with Skye and how much love he had for her that I could feel it while reading.
The more they open up about their feelings the more the demons Skye has been battling with show until she realizes it’s safer to help herself. This book will make you laugh, smile, swoon, fan yourself because those scenes are hot, cry (yes you’ll need tissues) and by the end you’ll want more. What I loved the most was the little Easter egg that was thrown in that made me scream yay.
I couldn’t put this book down because this book has everything you need to keep you going until you realized you have finished. I look forward to more books by Lynsey.
In fact it was as so much more. What I thought was going to be a cute rom-com turned into a fabulous thoughtful story that seamlessly intertwined some pretty serious topics that are not preached but treated with the love and respect they deserve. Don't get me wrong, the fun is there too, Skye and Will as the friends that are terrified of taking it further are adorable she's snark and he's nerdy. A terrific supporting cast of characters round out this story but what takes it over the top is the messages that it delivers, one that I can only imagine and one I am familiar with.
From the first time you meet Will and Skye, you know they're going to be something special. How can the nerdy, glasses wearing guy and the girl with the bubblegum hair not be drawn to each other? But this story is about more than just stereotypes, it's about acceptance of yourself and others and appreciating your self worth. Through the snarky comments, the easy banter and the genuine friendship, this is a story of truth, truth to yourself about your self image and self esteem and accepting that you are deserving enough to have everything your heart desires. The fact that the book starts with Skye walking in on a naked Will, who is fisting his pleasure to Catwoman on Skype and carries on with Will on the floor, underneath two men's very erect members, filming them having sex pretty much sets the tone for this funny, sexy, poignant love story that grabs you and never lets go! Another winner ☺️
really like this book i thought Will and Skyes book was super sweet but it really had some great messages in this story.
The thing i loved about this book was it told us it was ok to get help if we haven’t gotten over things in our life and it’s ok to not be a perfect human being.
I loved Will he was need through and through and he as such an awesome character he was the friend that everyone wants he is there for you, has your back and will basically follow you into the porn industry lol.
I loved Skye and her story especially with her brother Elliot and how she volunteers for cause that was so close to both of them and to help out people that are the same as her brother.
This book had all the feels it was sexy and steamy but also deep and had meaning. It also made me laugh and cry and you can’t ask foe much more in a book. I also loved how we got more Stacey and Matt but this book can also be read as a stand-alone but i loved those two and they are a big feature in this book.
Wow! This was a beautifully written book about friendship, loss, grief and loss. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments and steamy, steamy scenes too of course. This is definitely a romance but covers a number of social issues with great respect and care. Skye and Will's HEA is a long and bumpy road with a very satisfying ending that will stay with me for a long time. This is the second in the series but can definitely be read alone.
Friends to lovers has never been this hot!! Will (Henry Cavill as Clark Kent? Yes!!) and Skye have known each other for years, he was her rock when her world came crashing down with the death of her brother. He can’t resist his best friend even when she’s got this crazy idea of making an educational porno...he’s in...although being near her in the senses overwhelming atmosphere of a porn-production becomes pure torture. One night he’s finally done fighting his feelings for her...
After Skye found her best friend in her apartment, masturbating because he thought he was alone there, the friend zone she pushed Will in suddenly begins to blur. Suddenly she sees her nerdy friend in a different light.
But is one kiss worth ruining their friendship? Can Skye love him as more than just a friend when she’s not sure if she can love herself?
After One Night Only where their friend Savannah found her HEA with Ex-Escort Matt, this book easily made it to one of my favourites in 2020 if not ever!! A MUST READ!!!!

The highly anticipated second book and wow I was blown away.
The chemistry between Will and Skye is electrifying even though after being best friends for years their plantonic relationship is seen as so much more.
With barrels of laugh and fun throughout, you don't want to stop reading. With throwbacks of Stacey and Matt appearing the whole gang are together.
A must read explosive friends to lovers with the typical added quirkiness expected. Addictive to the last page.
How can you love love someone else, if you don't love yourself? Skye and Will have been friends for 5 years in this friends to lovers story. They love each other but they need to work on themselves before they can be together. Lynsey M Stewart took me on a ride with this one! It hit me in ways I wasn't expecting and made me really stop and think about the people in my life right now. It made me revisit my life and my own passions and why I do what I do. It made me laugh. It made me cry. Mostly, it made me happy!
"You’re a good person, you have come so far, you deserve good things, you deserve love." The plot of this story could be said to center around the making of an adult movie, and yet the overarching, single most important message that comes through is this... love, but also self acceptance, loving yourself, learning to deal with tough times and loss, but never losing sight of the light that shines so brightly through each one of us. I have been excited about this book before it was even written, right from when I read about Will and Skye in One Night Only, where they appear as Stacey's friends. But you don’t necessarily need to read that book to get what is happening here (though you should read it because it’s fun, and of course adds so much to the events of this story!) “You’ll do this with me? For the clinic, for Elliott?” “No, Skye,” he replied as he threw me his keys. “I’ll do it for you.” To put it in a nutshell, Skye wants to make a movie of a risqué sort, and immediately turns to Will to help her. No, it is not a cheesy ploy. There is a real, very pure motive behind it, and I as a reader truly appreciate that the entire story is premised around a very positive representation of the lgbtq community. I also really really loved Skye and Will and their relationship. "He was part of me, like the curl of a finger, instinctual as a heartbeat, the force that awakened me from sleep, the jerk your body makes without preparation or thought." But It’s not about falling in love, and it’s not about everything being roses when they declare their love. In fact, it’s about how some things actually don’t just change magically. How you need to put in the effort, how two people may love each other, but don’t immediately undergo a brianmeld, and still need things like trust and communication and self awareness to get to the right place to make for a good relationship. Having said that, the way Will is just always there for Skye, no matter what she wants to do, no matter how much he grumbles, is really lovely! Their banter is excellent and so real. It was also great to see mentions of other favs from the author's other books! And once again there are some very well written supporting characters. Somehow, for all that he isn’t there at the point when this story takes place, Elliot comes across as one of the most significant of these. I also really enjoyed Margot, but I would have liked to see slimy Gavin suffer. In a nutshell this is once again a very nicely written, well thought out story. It isn’t romance for the sake of romance, it’s so much more... a really enjoyable relationship and friendship that made me feel very happy and hopeful in a time when everything has been quite hard and uncertain. Loved it!
Wow wow WOW!!! I can't get over how good One Take Only is. I love Lynsey's books and her style of writing but this was above all, the best book of hers I've read. I thought I'd read One Night Only but as I searched for it on my Kindle I realised I didn't even haven't, so clearly hadn't read it. So before I even started One Take Only, I jumped into One Night Only. As I read the first chapter, I knew I would love it, and my god I did. But it left sections of the story I wanted to know more about, and those parts were the sections that gave you little snippets of Skye and Will. Lynsey gave you just enough to start questioning and imaging what might be going on between them. I needed to know more. And that's what you get in One Take Only. And my god, Lynsey has out done herself. I love a good friends to lovers story, but I think Lynsey has jumped head first into the lead of my favourite friends to lovers books. She writes so well, in so much detail, capturing the feelings and emotions Skye and Will are both going through. I felt like I was living their story with them. If you've ever had that one friend you've looked at and contemplated if you could ever be more than just friends, but you darent risk it....then you will understand and be able to relate to at least some of this story 100%. And in my opinion, that's what makes an author go from good, to outstanding. And Lynsey M Stewart is outstanding!!!! I laughed, cried and questioned Will and Skye's actions and wanted to scream and shout at them. A-MAZE-ING!!!!! I love Lynsey as a writer and I love the way she brings her characters to life, but One Take Only has quickly become one of my favourite books read this year....it maybe one of my favourite books I've ever read. Seriously recommend Lynsey as a author and can't tell you enough to read One Night Only and One Take Only. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!
Another delicious read from Lynsey Stewart. I got caught up her books from the very beginning. Let Me Be Your First is a beautiful debut, and her voice has gotten stronger in every book she's written. Her most recent, One Take Only, stars Will and Skye. We met Skye in One Night Only - she has pink candy floss hair, piercings and a sense of humor sharp as any knife. She also has an underlying sadness that brings her to advocate for the LGBT+ community in Brighton, England. She's smart, kind, and loves with her whole heart despite her outward armor. Will, our hero, is introduced quite literally with his "member" in his hand. It's a hilarious first chapter that both endears him and makes us feel a little second-hand embarrassment for him. From there, we have an age-old trope of friends who don't know the other has feelings - but it's fresher. Funnier. More believable as we read through the fumbling feelings and the adventures they seem to find themselves in (or the ones that Skye creates and William's just the lucky bastard who gets to follow her into). Did I mention the porno they're making? No? Then you'll just have to read it. Another amazing read from Ms. Stewart.
“I couldn’t help seeing the spark in you that you felt no one else tried to look for.”
Lynsey Stewart is such a passionate writer and it really comes across in this story.
When Skye looses her brother Elliott to suicide, she makes it her mission to help other people struggling with the same emotional turmoil. From the moment that she meets William, the nerdy guy with the Clark Kent vibe, their relationship is definitely in the friend zone with a lot of snarkieness and back and forth banter. She's the girl with the pink bubble gum hair and rainbow syrup running through her veins. How could they not been drawn to each other?
Will, is there when she finds her brother who she supported when their parents left them. "He saw her complete and utter devastation. She was his from that moment, in his head and heart at least. More than friendship. A desire to heal, to protect. An instinct kicked in; nothing would hurt her again. He’d protect her from what was to come because she’d already experienced the worse. He has true feelings for her. The only problem was that Skye was in his life in the truest form, telling her how he felt could lead to her walking away. How could a friendship come back from that? The destruction of a one-sided love affair?" He would do anything for her, no matter how crazy it was, but they both couldn't loose the friendship they had gained with each other. The risk was too high. For Skye, it feels as if everyone she cares about and loves, leaves her and she can't loose William. As they navigate their friendship it gets harder and harder to not give into their true feelings. This is a slow burn, that has all the feels of an emotional roller coaster, but their happy-ever-after is so worth the ride. 🎢 🔥 🔥 🔥 I loved the line “I couldn’t help seeing the spark in you that you felt no one else tried to look for.” This is such a beautiful statement of true love and friendship. ❤ 💙 🧡
I love Friends to Lovers this book is just what the doctor ordered. Will and Skye have been friends forever they have been through so many ups and downs he has seen her at her lowest. He wants to see her at her highest but she can’t seem to find that or love herself the way he does. Skye asks Will to do all kinds of weird things he never says no. He loves being with her and any excuse to do that and he will take it. This includes her latest and greatest brain storm. Can their friendship survive filming a prom? Do they want to take this to the next level? Can they make it work? This book was so good I really enjoyed Skye and her crazy ideas. Will is the best character he is so easy going and level headed. He wants to make her happy and even if that includes filming something that makes him totally uncomfortable he will. Skye is totally lost in life she’s successful and works hard to share information about safe sex to teens. She wants to keep her brothers legacy alive. She just can’t seem to find herself she works so hard for everyone else she needs to see her self worth. Who knew filming a porn would put her on that path?
A very different story than what I'm used to reading and something very refreshing. I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story that also had an emotional undertone which really made you feel more connected to the two lead characters, Skye and Will. I really liked this fun yet heartwarming story.
Skye has had a lot to deal with and has been through a huge loss but volunteering at the LGBTQ+ sexual health clinic has given her a new purpose and when she gets an idea to have some more realism into the porn industry and experiences with sexual preferences, it'll change more than just everyone's perspective but also the friendship she has built with Will. Something seems to be changing between them and they finally start to see each other in a new light but their friendship has meant a lot to them and they don't want to jeopardize it all. But the more they are working together, it's getting harder to ignore what they truly feel inside but something is still holding Skye back. Will they find what they've been looking for or will it all fall apart?...
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were fantastic and the chemistry between them was absolute FIRE. Will and Skye have been best friends for five years. They've also been in love with each other for five years but neither one knew the other felt the same, and they also both were afraid of losing their best friend. When Skye ropes Will into helping her make a healthy porn film to be used at the clinic where she volunteers, lines get blurred.
I liked a lot about this book. Skye's volunteer work is awesome and the reason behind it is heartbreaking. The appearances by Stacey and Matt are wonderful. The community around Skye and the clinic are inspiring. But what tipped me from really liking the book to loving it was the message of Skye's film and the reasons for it. That is something we don't have enough of and really need in real life.
When I met Skye and Will in One Night Only I knew their story would be a beautiful mess. That is what this book is... a beautiful mess of emotions and expectations of ourselves. Skye and Will have been friends that banter for 5 years thanks to their friend Stacey bringing them together. After the loss of Skye’s brother, Will became her other half without the fun and the label. When Skye gets the idea to make an adult movie that focuses on intimacy, consent and safe sex she enlists Will to help her. Their friendship is in that delicate place where feelings get crossed even if they have been in love with each other all along.
This story was so much more than a cute, frenemies to lovers trope. The subject matter is so important... how can we accept love from others if we can’t love ourselves? These two work together to make something tragic beautiful and I loved every page.
Y’all, I freaking love Lynsey M. Stewart’s writing and this book has so many feels. First, don’t be thrown off by the fact that the word “porn” is involved. There is nothing tawdry or dirty about Skye’s need to make a film...in fact once you read what that whole situation is about you will break just a little. Goodness, I can’t say enough about how beautiful Skye is as a person. I love her. Second, the relationship between Skye and Will which serves as the main story line is just a little heartbreaking too. How do you decide to cross the line from friends to lovers with one of your best friends? There is so much to loose if it doesn’t work, but so much to gain if it does. Can Will and Skye overcome all the obstacles to be together? Can Skye let someone else into her heart? This is just such a beautiful story by one of my favorite authors, please take a chance on it.
One Take Only is a slow burn, friends to lovers romance that is funny and emotional. Ms. Stewart nailed all the notes of friendship between Will and Skye. The banter, the history, the support, and the love shined from the beginning of the book through to the very last page.
Skye's passion, guilt, and impulsive nature pulled both her and Will into some awkward situations. These instances only further cemented the strength of their bond. Their friendship appeared to be an obstacle on their path to love, but these two soul mates kept pushing forward.
This love story was not only about the immense love between Will and Skye, it was also about Skye's path to self love. Faith. Forgiveness and compassion. The love for life and someone special.
Skye & Will’s friends to lovers story is filled with some unique driving content however the story is so beautifully done. Don’t let the word porn in the description put you off.
Skye’s strong and determined and we learn that she’s suffered great tragedy that she’s still struggling to deal with. Will’s the perfect boy best friend who’s secretly in love with Skye. Their way they care for each other drives them into each other’s arms and sets them on a roller coaster that eventually leads to a satisfying HEA!
I really enjoyed the porn plot as surprising as that may sound. The message is so current and powerful.
I highly recommend this story as it gave me all the feels and it will be a story I will revisit in the future.
Skye and Will two best friends that take on their interesting, emotional, funny, with a whole lot of serious topics that will have you crying, laughing and wanting to see where these two will take you. An amazing read that I couldn't put down and didn't want it to end. The more you read the more want. I love these characters. The author definitely knows how to pull any and all your emotions out. I can't wait to read what she has next.
I loved this book it was just ahhh. Will is such a Clark Kent ! Gorgeous inside and out. Skye is such an individual and you gotta luv her. I love the push and pull and tension between these two. They had me laughing ... ten pound.... hehehe, all the time and was full of emotions as well, it was such a good book to read I didn’t want to put it down. I just love will and Skye, there is just something about them how Lynsey writes about them ! You have to read it!!
