This book is about working with other people. It’s about making that experience a positive one. It’s about how a happy, engaged and motivated team becomes an unstoppable force. In Do Team, entrepreneur Charlie Gladstone draws on three decades of experience as an employer of over 100 people and father of six, to share practical, honest and insightful advice on such matters • Choosing the right people • Getting through tough times • Team building for introverts • The power of (very) small teams • Why good manners and kindness matter most With easy-to-follow entries on hiring, gentle leadership, emotional intelligence and retaining a sense of humour, Do Team will help you get the best from everyone so that you, your team and your business can thrive.
Pekny sumar toho, co by mal team lead vediet/zvladat, na co by mal mysliet. Strucne napisane, takze som tu nemal ten "toto mohol byt iba tweet" pocit. Zaroven to nebolo nic prevratne. Ale kniha sa da za hodku-dve preluskat, takze vlastne aj odporucam, lebo refresh aj znamych veci (hlavne ked su takto dobre strukturovane) je z casu na cas potrebny.
A mini high level blueprint of running a business and managing. Found the book charming and visually engaging which helped me read it in 24 hours. Lots of concepts that weren't new but helped me think differently about the team I'm currently in. Also helped to apply my previous companies to the examples and think how I would have acted differently if I was the manager and applied these learnings. While it can go more in depth, this was a really engaging read and I fully resonate with the values of the author and taking a human approach to management and rallying your team. Your team is the best at what they do, and there's some nice reminders of how to form your team with this mindset, appreciate your team and lead your team. Really good read.
Charlie Gladstone gives a masterclass version of working with other people in succinct manner that proves his three decades of experience. You stand to avoid the classic mistakes when you read the first three chapters particularly Chapter 2. A good list of questions that consolidate and and improve your team management or people skills.
It was okay. I love that it is breaking away from the stereotypical leadership styles and adding a bit of humanity but it was still blokey in bits. I'd recommend this to people who are just starting out in leadership or who are thinking about changing their leadership style to be more inclusive.
I enjoyed this. Super easy to pick up and put down and suggest in small chunks, but generally a small book to consume all in one hit too. Useful tips, advice and inspiration for managers establishing a positive and productive team.
