Hot on a killer’s trail

Trained to Defend by Christy Barritt

Framed for her boss’s murder, Sarah Peterson is on the run—with only her boss’s loyal husky, Buzz, for protection. To clear her name and keep her safe, she must rely on her ex-fiancé, former detective Colton Hawk. The police aren’t the only ones searching for Sarah and the brave dog…the real killer is on the hunt, determined to silence them for good.

Mountain Hostage by Hope White

After an ambush during a mountain hike, Zoe Pratt ends up shoved off the mountain and her friend kidnapped. Enigmatic search-and-rescue volunteer Jack Monroe tracks Zoe with the help of his K-9 partner, Romeo, but as the only witness to the attack, she’s far from safe. With Jack’s help, can she find her friend and take down her would-be killer?

Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.

Two stories. Both equally gripping.
1. Trained To Defend.
When she walks in on someone murdering her disabled employer and runs, suddenly she becomes the hunted. By police and the actual murderer. Her ex not only believes her, but the two work together to clear her name.
2. Mountain Hostage.
When she heads to her best friends place, and their mountain hike turns into a nightmare. Her friend kidnapped. She's hurt. The drive to find what's right bigger than all the voices.

A detective and a search and rescue guy find love with the ladies they are protecting.

Loved being with both authors again. Colton and Sarah story was exciting from start to finish. Sarah ran from an awful seen. To the one man who could protect her. It. put both of them on the run . As they were on the run they tried to solve the case. They were able to do it and fell back in love. Jack and Zoe story was exciting too. Jack came to Zoe rescue many times. They tried to find her friend Shannon. Who became involved in something illegal without knowing it. Jack and Zoey fell in love during this time too. Will read more by these authors.

Love can be difficult for some.

I definitely loved this book. The author held my interest through everything. My heart went out to each of the victims either those of violence or those being accused but innocent. The twist and turns in the story had me guessing who did what and what exactly did they do. Great action and suspense filled book.

Suspenseful and full of Intrigue

Two great authors and two fantastic books. They kept me on my seat, waiting for the story to develop and then kept me guessing trying to figure out who the real bad guys were. Love Christy and Hope and I’ll be looking for more of their books.

First book /second

First book spent to much time in the past. The second one was a great read giving good background on search and rescue.
