Rate this book
Here is the story of Rome and the men and women who made it the greatest empire the world has ever known. Historian Grace Cole writes in vivid detail of the critical events in Rome’s 500-year history and of the complex, flawed leaders - Caesar, Augustus, Caligula, and Constantine – who steered it through the storms of history.

Good glossary of early Rome

The book covers the main highlights of the Roman empire but does not go into any depth. It does a good job of showing the impact of the Roman civilization on today's cultures and laws.

This book covers in brief format from Rome's beginnings to it's still existant influence today. This within less than 90 pages. For those of us with little knowledge and understanding of the history of Roman times this book is an easy read and a great introduction.
